It was ok. The hotel is out dated and kind of run down but they are in the process of updating it.We liked the location and appreciated that it was walking distance to shopping centers and restaurants which came in handy while it was snowing. The pool is on the small side but it's clean and the kids still had fun.The entire 4th floor was closed down for renovations which is fine except we were on the 3rd floor and were serenaded to the sweet sounds of random knocking and stomping sounds above us from 7am to 10pm. This is during the hotel "noisy hours" but after long days of traveling it wasn't very appreciated by us who just wanted to rest before the next long day.Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was usual fare and fine. Not anything to write home about but better than some places.Nearby activities: The mall has lots of things for kids to do.Walkability: Close to restaurants, several shopping centers and a mall. Easy to walk to all of them even in the snow.

This hotel is old and tired. It needs some serious renovations. I'm a Diamond Elite and got upgraded. The room was clean, but not impressed. It smelled like bleach. There wasn't even an alarm clock in the room. Furniture was mismatched and outdated carpet. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok. The whole place is rundown including the one elevator. I don't see how this place is a 4 star 2 at most.

Dirty carpet everywhere. Dirty bathroom floor so I used a washcloth to clean it. I tried to rinse it. Dusty tops of dressers and lamp base. I thoroughly checked the sheets and beds. They weren't bad. We won't be back. The front desk lady was very nice.

I'll start off with the good:The breakfast was 4* Was Very good. Lots of options and the food was fresh. It was actually a nice change as a lot of places are still in pandemic delusion. Now for bad:First, we asked for a joining rooms which we originally didn't get but I know they had (will explain later)Second, my parents room their door to the a joining room (which we originally didn't get) the door didn't close. Like I don't mean lock, it didn't even stay closed, which would mean if there were someone in the other room they could just walk in.We called to tell the desk and they Knew about it...We asked if we could get that room so at least we would be in the room instead of a stranger.Third, the pool. First it was cold. Second there were literally No towels available. We had to use the washcloths that they provided in the neiboring workout room.Fourth the place was a bit rundown. The elevator looked like it hadn't been painted for years. And had spots where it had come off. Just looked trashy.I forgot to mention, we were watching TV in the other room. When we went to ours the reception was really bad. We called the desk and they told us to "wiggle the cord"Also the lamps by the beds have plugs. When I tried to plug in my phone the lamp would shut off....Other than all that the place was great.

Definitely a 2 start hotel. Room furniture is outdated and worn. The desk chair in our room was ripped. The carpet was also ripped and frayed at the room entry .Also, the shower had a weird brown spot on it and the floor in the bathroom felt sticky. The room had a musty smell and hint of cigarette. The bed felt homemade in all the wrong ways.Location is conveniently located to where we needed to be. But if it weren’t for that I would not stay here. It amazes me the variation in quality of Holiday Inns. This one was definitely lacking in comfort and cleanliness.

Wow... The staff at this hotel is something else. They waited until after 4oclock to knock in the door in the middle of a baby shower (accusing us of other things s going on)and tell me we have to leave. The balloons and pragonet lady gifts and guests weren't enough proof. That the matance man continues to make rude comments as were packing up to leave. Saying comments to make my pragonet friend cry making accusations. Not only ruinng her babyshower but accusing her of doing other things. This hotel and staff is the worst hotel I've stayed at. He ran right in after we had everything out like I leave it trashed and clean everything and leave a twenty dollar tip for the maids. I'm so disappointed in the way the staff treated my company. If I could I would leave negative stars. Worst and rudest hotel. I will be leaving a review on other platforms as well as the baby shower guests. You r matance man should learn some manners. And to keep his option to himself and the rest of the staff shouldn't allow him to talk to guests however they feel like it. Negative 5 stars

Love how it was close to everything. We had a good stay. Only complaints is wish it was a little cleaner. There was hair on the floor in our bathroom and the toilet paper(and toilet paper looked wet then dried). I liked the shower and how open and big it was. Also when we went in the hot tub it looked a little brown on the walls above the water, I could scratch it off with my nail. It was kinda really gross. But all in all it was good here. Room was clean and I liked that they had two pillows, one soft and one firm. Good pillows is a must! Breakfast was good but would be nice if it wasn’t the same thing every day I was there.

The overall experience was good. The staff we had interactions with were all very kind. The lobby had a stale smoke scent to it but our room smelt extremely clean. There was some carpet fraying and coming up along the tile transition in our room and a dried substance on the wall above the bed that looked like it could be soda. The Continental breakfast was good, simple. Eggs, sausage, Biscuits and gravy. Along with the options of the usual cereal, breads/bagels, oatmeal and making pancakes.Nearby activities: Located just down the road from Layton Hills Mall and has other shopping options just the across street. Along with the mall and such there are several really good restaurants nearby.Walkability: All that is stated above is all within walking distance

The place needs a complete renovation. The carpets are matted and sticky. The pool and whirlpool have organic matter growing on the cement. At check-in I noticed a plate of ~2 dozen cookies on the counter. I was having issues with my key and went down just after 9pm to have it reprogrammed and watched an employee shove the entire plate into a plastic bag. Not sure if she was taking them home or throwing them away or putting them away for the next day? The morning breakfast is another disaster. Sticky tables. Empty condiment bottles and they offer bagels, but no cream cheese. I mean it's Utah, but they must know a bagel comes with a smear. The other offerings of scrambled eggs, pork sausage and biscuits w/gravy were in watery chaffing pans. The oatmeal was watery and the pancake dispenser just seemed weird. I figured toast and juice were safe, so that is what I had. The two hand sanitizer stations in the lobby are empty and when I asked for another option they just looked at me slack jawed and said they don't work. Duh!!!!My room is another disappointment. The bath faucet could not be shut all the way off. There are no USB ports for charging and there was no screen on the window. The bed sagged and I woke up with a rash on my exposed skin. Not sure what is going on there. I have stayed in a better motel 6.

Okay room size, ready for an update. Everything is worn including the mattresses. AC couldn't keep up so it was hot. Hot cold on sink was back wards, night stand charger only worked if lamp was on.

Just finished a 3-night stay for business. The staff I met were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good and they even had light evening meals. My room was very quiet, with the exception of the AC fan which ran constantly. The room was comfortable, albeit a little dated. Their IT support was helpful when I was unable to access the internet, however when established, the connection was highly unstable and slow. If I did not need internet access, I would stay there again. For the site, I would highly recommend adding some level of EV charging capabilities.Rooms: My room was very quiet, with the exception of the AC fan which ran constantly. This hotel is the only hotel I will stay at while visiting the Ogden/Salt Lake Valley it has a good continental breakfast. Nothing fancy. But good. Coffee is good. Rooms are clean. In need of updating. Still comfortable. I have stayed at other hotel chains. I prefer this hotel. Yes I would recommend this hotel.

In town for two nights to take the kiddos to Lagoon. I've stayed at my fair share of Holiday Inns, the one in Layton is very well managed with very friendly staff. The room was clean, well provisioned, and well cooled. We checked the beds thoroughly as I had read previous complaints of bed bugs. Our room was very clean without any signs of bed bugs. Again, I only bring it up because I read some guest feedback which had me concerned initially. When we arrived in the afternoon the breakfast area had snacks available, ice cold water, and pop (soda). The included breakfast consisted of:Scrambled eggsTurkey sausagePork sausage linksBiscuits and gravyYogurtBananas OrangesToastCinnamon RollsPancakesCoffee, Tea, OJ, and other juice optionsI really enjoyed the breakfast, the staff kept it clean, provisioned and organized. The biscuits and gravy was very tasty and the cinnamon rolls were delicious with my coffee. A special thanks to the friendly breakfast staff who were so kind during the rush.My son spent an hour in the pool and enjoyed it, only one other person there in the later afternoon. I saw folks in the exercise room which was small but did the trick for those of you who want to burn off those cinnamon rolls or other rolls you so expertly hide. All in all a good stay. Thanks again to the friendly staff! We'll see you again soon!

i stayed at this hotel in my way from Tennessee to Oregon. At 1:30 am we were woken up by the people upstairs making a ton of noise. I called the front desk and the person who answered the phone said there were 12 peoole staying in the room above us and there was nothing he could do to make them stop being so noisy. Considering how much we paid for this hotel, he should have done a little more to let them know they needed to keep it down. We had a 3:45 am wake up to finish driving so being woken up at 1:30 am and being kept awake the rest of the night by a party upstairs is completely unacceptable. I would not stay at this hotel again knowing they allow that many people to stay in one room and disturb others.
