We added a bedroom to our home and needed a matching door, so we contacted Shane with Burton Lumber in Layton. He was able to get us into the schedule and have the door ready in about four days. He was extremely friendly and professional and called us as soon as the door was done. Everyone was very friendly when we went to pick it up as well.

Don't buy anything here or let your contractor use them unless they check prices other places. My contractor used them and the prices were 3x more than Lowes retail. Why?I have no idea why they would be that much more, but on a $14K order, they charged $3500 more than what Lowes would have cost me with retail prices. My contractor made 15% extra on that $3500. So it's not hard to figure out why they would be working with Burton.Let the local business go out of business if they can't compete and stop price gouging. I'll never shop at Burton again unless they have the lowest prices.

Please, If you want straight, quality lumber pick out the pieces personally. We used their select service and we got junk lumber. Finally, after demoing 2 hours of work, we purchased quality pieces at another lumber yard.

Burton lumber has been the biggest disappointment in a Supplier that I have ever dealt with.we gave the go ahead for our lumber package in January. they never ordered our lumber package for our house and when we follow followed up with him about it in February our price had doubled and then they told us they couldn't sell our lumber to us we had also ordered our trusses through them in January and once we found out that we couldn't get our lumber we asked them to move our trust's back Until the 1st week of August now they won't sell us our trusses, Even though they committed to August, Because they don't get the full lumber package anymore

Taylor here at Burton lumber was excellent to work with. Not only did I have a custom door project finished under the promise time, but he was extremely detailed and helpful in the whole process. When I came to pick up the door, he was generous and helping me wrap the door on a rainy day and even chased me down afterward to give me a couple of hardware pieces I had forgotten. When I thanked him profusely, he said "better to have a nice helpful face then one that tries to make things difficult, right?" Amen, brother. That attitude is good for business, and good for sleeping at night!

Burton Lumber has the BEST customer service and prices. I called many stores throughout Davis and Salt Lake County to get quotes on Trex and they gave me the best price. I paid and ordered my product and he delivered it to me the next day. Taylor gave me a call that morning and told me he was on his way and dropped off my Trex with a fork lift on my driveway. Since we ordered so much Trex, we had a few pieces damaged, but Matt went above and beyond to replace them and make it right. My contractors also miscalculated the amount of material needed and Matt patiently dealt with all the changes to my order. He has earned my business for life!

I get it, there is a shortage and you can really do whatever you want. 1 order got split to 4 drops, every single drop they didnt call when they were coming to drop off the lumber. Asked them after first load if they could give me heads up. Said nope, adds time and frustration to drivers. It just gets put in the road, unbundled and falling over itself. Trex, scratched up, not a straight 2x4, 2x12s split 3 feet in. Good time to be a lumber salesman.
