One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a credit union or bank. The manager just wanted to wield his power and could have very easily helped out. The teller was the same. I have closed my account and will never go back. Went to Mountain America and had a great experience just 5 minutes later.

I have very much liked banking at AFCU. However, I’m very unhappy with a recent loan I got from them. At closing there was a verbal request from the underwriter that was NOT put in writing or the loan agreement. I am being held to follow the verbal request. The loan agreement states “no verbal communication or agreement is binding.”Be very careful when signing or getting a loan from AFCU. Your loan agreement that you sign, means nothing.

They don’t have any technical support for their ATM malfunction. Be careful when trying to withdraw money from their ATM. Can’t get my card back and who knows if anyone else will get ahold of it.

Literally impossible to contact over the phone. I waited 30 minutes to speak to a representative who immediately hung up on me. I then scheduled a call back so I didn't have to wait another 30 minutes. When I got the call back it was the automated system still and when I pressed the number to speak to a representative it said it couldn't understand my request. I'm dealing with a legitimate issue and I cannot get in contact with the representative no matter what I do. Only bank with these people if you plan on never contacting them ever over the phone.

I’ve had a car loan with this bank since 2019. I am completely frustrated that to make my car payment monthly is nearly impossible. I have my other account for deposits etc. through Goldenwest because I’ve heard issues about America First; I only did my loan through them because it was the cheapest option for me at the time. I started by pulling cash from my Goldenwest ATM and going to America First after to pay with cash. As you can probably assume, this system became a little bit of a hassle and was a waste of gas, so I decided to start paying online despite the small fee. It worked for a few weeks, and then randomly I was no longer able to get into my account. I tried calling months ago and no one was able to help me. They told me it was an issue with the website and there was nothing they could do to fix the issue. So ever since then I continued just paying in person or over the phone and stopped trying to login on the website. I have a few months left on my car loan and I usually pay in person. I never use my AF debit/credit card they gave me in the beginning because I only had an account through them for my car loan…and so I never used my pin and forgot what it was. This has never been an issue because in person they don’t ask for you PIN number. I just called to pay my car payment today, and they asked for my PIN. I usually just tell them I don’t know it and no one has ever told me I had to have it. The lady today made it a really big issue that I didn’t have it and asked me questions that I was fine to answer and I thought we got it all sorted. When she asked how much I wanted to pay I just asked to pay the minimum. She told me she couldn’t do that and I had to tell her the exact amount. I told her that I usually paid over but I wanted to pay the minimum and I would have to go rummage through my documents. Which again, I should know the info, but I can’t look online to see my PIN or my loan amount…so I usually just paid over and I’ve never had issues. The thing is, i understand that people have to follow protocol. But the last guy who helped me never said anything when I asked to pay the minimum, he just did it. I just wish they all stayed consistent so I don’t feel dumb when I’m calling or going in person. Make a protocol and stick to it. Thank goodness I’m done with this loan this year. They just make it way harder than it needs to be and they’re the only bank I’ve had that I’ve gotten so many spam emails/texts from. I’m just frustrated that there’s never consistency with answers or protocol.

This is a great America First!! Sometimes they have a line but they’re really good about helping people quite efficiently. Everyone that has helped me has been really nice and helpful. I totally recommend!

My wife and I sat here 30 minutes with zero customer service while waiting to meet with a banker. 3 banker ladies sitting in the glass room watching us the whole time, arguing. Zero follow up and zero help. Hold your meetings after work and not while customers are waiting for help. We peaced out!

This is the most horrendous bank we have ever worked with and has costed us many wasted hours and tears due to their next-level incredibly poor customer service and ability to perform basic bank tasks. The most recent catastrophe was when we needed to wire our down payment for our new home. They had protocols in place that were going to force us to wait 5-10 days before we could transfer the necessary funds. We found a way around this obstacle, but then their entire server went down. They are going to close now for the long weekend and we are now without a home for the Memorial Day weekend. If you wnjoy wasting your time, not being able to access your money, and terrible customer service, I would recommend America First. This is the most unfortunate and unreliable bank and I will never recommend this bank to anyone.
