We brought our boat here to have Taylor's investigate some vibration under acceleration. We've had decent experiences with super nice salespeople through the years. The service desk is always friendly, But not terribly knowledgeable . Have been customers of Taylor boats for approximately 3 years. Taylors Mechanics , yes multiple, investigated the prop and also the shaft and determined that there may be some problem with the shaft. So they supposedly pulled the shaft and checked it for balance they claimed they dropped and also investigated the shaft. I had to call a few times but hey it's February 2022 so they were probably getting busy. Then they told me the issue was "bigger" that the entire transmission would need to be replaced because the problem was serious and they couldn't find the source of the problem. I had to call back a few more times at this point ( frustrating)as well and it seemed like something was unusual. When they gave me an estimate of $10,000 for a transmission , but couldn't explain much, I decided to take it to an independent mechanic. that mechanic told me that it was **obvious that the shaft had not been pulled. Old grease undisturbed , seals not changed and nothing affected etc. They put it on a table and checked it for balance they checked the prop and the transmission and said everything was perfect. IMPOSSIBLE i said , taylors had it for over a month in the middle of winter, they had so much time to look it over right ? So much back and forth .... OK Work on the communication and integrity guys. don't tell me that you did something heroic and that now after all that you're not going to charge me now for all of the work you did when you actually didn't do anything at all. I have put a hundred hours on it since the "diagnosis" with no problems. The 2nd boat mechanic told me to stop putting so much weight and ballast in the boat (and people )and that I would get vibration with sharp turns if I was using that much weight.Taylor's may still be a great place to buy a boat .

Rowdy was super helpful and great to work with. He got us a great deal on a beautiful boat and we are really looking forward the upcoming boating season. We were also an out of state buyer and the entire staff was great to work with. They made the process super easy. I wish they were local to us because I trust they would be a great to work with for service as needed.

I am new to owning a boat so I did a bunch of research before taking my boat to Taylor’s Boats. The service department was amazing to work with. It was a very friendly and inviting atmosphere. No pressure to buy anything I didn’t need, they didn’t offer services I didn’t need. They were upfront with all costs and it was very reasonable. I will always take my boat to Taylor’s Boats!

Taylor in sales is great.Service is totally hit and miss. Over the last several years, I've had good and bad experiences. I never know what I'll get.I hate leaving my boat there for service jobs. Twice I've had issues with it on their lot. One requiring major gel coat, bumper strip, and swim deck repairs. It will never be the same. The problem is, even for winterization, they want it for several days. Why even make an appointment???It is also not uncommon to need to return the boat to repair the same issue several times. Depending on the service writer , you might be able to direct them to what the actual issue is. (Check the Malibu forums.)Parts and accessories? Meh, they're fine.I'm considering going to a totally different shop after this last service interaction. I've even heard it's worth the drive to the St. George shop because they are so good.

If you buy a boat from Taylor Boat's just don't plan on getting it serviced there. They have a reputation as the worst boat service from Kaysville to St. George and I am another to add my review. Trust me, go anywhere but to Taylor Boat's to get it serviced.

I've changed my review to 1 star instead of 2, due to Taylor's Boats ruining another summer of boating for us. McKay Taylor has been a major disappointment in buying a Malibu. His attitude has filtered throughout their 3 locations. Their service team is completely incompetent. He will get you to spend $3,000 to $5,000 per visit and tell you that your boat, you paid $150k for, doesn't cover any service work he's sold you. Brand new 2019 $150K boat with only 198 hrs due to it being in Taylor's shop 90% of the time. Look at the attached dashboard read out of "Service Required" that has gone off for 3 years. Taylor's doesn't know how to fix it.

We had an appointment to have our Malibu boat repaired on July 13. I told them what repairs needed to be troubleshooted. I called back and we were told that the tech that you assigned the repair to could not figure out the problem. Then you assigned the boat to another tech and he did not fix the problem or troubleshoot the problem properly. All the wiring was out below the breaker switches which was a mess and all they needed to do was to figure out why the throttle control sensor was not working or the safety switch. I was told that they did not have time to work on my boat because they had too many boats in the back yard to repair. Tyler said that I would have to do without the boat this summer and bring it back during the winter months so that he could spend time on it. That is exactly what he told me. It is a shame that you do not have qualified techs to trouble shoot a problem like this and turn the customer away because they were not trained properly. It is a shame that my brother-in-law who is 70 years old said he would look at it and he figured it out in one day. It was the throttle control sensor. He talked to your parts guy, texted him a picture. The parts guy asked, "Where does this go? Oh we do not have it in our inventory. I do not know what to tell you." So my brother-in-law went on line and looked at the pictures and found one back east. He had it shipped and installed it within three days. It actually worked like it was supposed to. I am very disappointed with the customer service and response that I got from your people. Maybe you better send them back to head start or training school to teach them manners and how to trouble shoot. We will be contacting the main headquarters of Malibu boats and complain to them about your lack of service to the customers up in this area. Our boat is a 2006 24/7 Malibu and my name is Glen Hemstreet.

“Over promise and under deliver” That’s the motto of Taylor’s Boats. After waiting 3 weeks to get my boat in for an oil service and transmission service - I was told that the day service that I had promised and planned on, would now be 48-72 hours at best! So that would cancel our boating plans that we had scheduled. When I said that’s not what I was promised they said, “well we will try to get it in today.” When I called at 4 pm they said we just weren’t able to look at it today, so come pick up your boat. Thinking that maybe now they would give me a “sorry for your inconvenience, we’ll get you in first thing next week appointment - I was told that I’d have to wait for the next available appointment which was another three weeks away!!! This is NOT the place it once was. My dad was one of Taylor’s first customers. If it hadn’t been for him and a few of his friends Taylor wouldn’t have made it through his first couple of years. Now it’s run by a bunch of kids who don’t know anything about customer service. Time to learn to service my own boat cause Taylor will never see it again. Scroll through all the one star reviews and you’ll see my same poor experience again and again. You’ll also see that Taylor stopped responding to poor reviews about 3 years ago. Bottom line: they just don’t care. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Worst customer service department ever. Took my Malibu wakesetter in for a new engine before the season started. I was promised it would be done in 3 weeks. I would call to check on the boat they always said they where going to get to it, they have the new engine, and they would get it done. I would have to call a few times because they would hang up or I would be put on hold and then they would hang up. Or someone would take my name and number and promise someone would call me back, that never did. This went on for 2 months during the summer season. We missed a couple of planned boat trips and weekends at the lake with kids that we can't get back. I finally gave up and picked up the boat and will get it fixed somewhere else. And when I picked up the boat to take somewhere else they did not care at all that they waisted my time, the lies they told, or the manner I was treated. I will never go back Taylor's boats. For everyone that has a Malibu boat hopefully it never breaks.
