Came here to fix/replace a blown rivet on a skate after the other hockey shop in town treated me like a jerk about it. He fixed it while I waited. Literally took him less time to fix my skate than it took the other place to explain they wouldn't help me. Cottonwood gained a loyal customer today. 10/10 will be back anytime I need anything hockey.

Love the shop and love my new CCM Trigger 3D stick! I used it tonight at Stick & Puck...worth every penny! I walked in just looking to get my skates sharpened and walked out with a 10 pass card (which Alan kept on file), and a fantastic stick! A little out of my way, but I'll be back. Thanks Alan!

I’ve come here twice for figure skate sharpening and Alan has been very helpful, kind, and fast. He has a punch card system for skate sharpening that gives you a reduced price and he keeps the card on site so you don’t have to worry about losing it. You can’t beat the service.

This place was excellent for sharpening skates for me and my daughter. I don't remember the name of the gentleman that helped me but he was very knowledgeable about skates in general and the sharpening job he did was just perfect. I came here because play it again sports really messed up both of our skate blades and this shop not only fixed it but also did the job right. Thanks. I will always be coming here to sharpen skates

Great local shop! I had taken a 7 year hiatus from hockey after college and decided to come out of retirement. These guys got me set up head to toe with new gear for a reasonable price considering I literally needed every piece of gear. It's been a couple months now and my skates feel great, gear is all comfortable and I'm loving being back on the ice!

Alan is the best at what he does when it comes to hand skate sharpening and modifications. He is super meticulous at his craft and remounted several pairs of skates that I own to perfection. As a professional power skating instructor I have always sent my skates to a proshop in Canada to put in heel lifts and change out holders. With Alan at cottonwood hockey shop I no longer have to do that. The detail that he puts in down to having plush copper rivets is amazing. Most hockey people woudn't even notice these small details but im one.of those crazy people that notices the smallest differences in the details of how skates are mounted. He is the man!

There is a reason this place has 5.0 stars.First of all, very friendly and helpful customer service. They are extremely knowledgeable as well. Came in here after getting quoted $300-$500 to fix a broken blade holder at Pure Hockey. "Either that or go look at our new skates and buy a pair." Reilly went above and beyond, not only to look for a new holder either locally or online, but he ended up finding a used one within the shop and my skates are back ready to rip within the same day! The pricing was LEAGUES more realistic than what pure hockey shrugged me off with as well!

Excellent customer service. I recently bought a visor/cage combo for my hockey helmet; unfortunately, it did not come with the hardware necessary to install it. I took it back and they were more than happy to scrounge up some parts and install it for me-- no questions asked. They also don't employ high-pressure sales tactics here, which is honestly a breath of fresh air. Would happily recommend to people who are looking for a personable experience.

Alan and the crew are the best! Between the skate sharpenings and the help with the gear for both hockey and biking they really knock it out of the park. We are frequent shoppers, I’m super thankful that we have this shop in the neighborhood.

Outstanding service! We have a daughter who skates (we are not skaters), and we always feel welcome at this store. Whether it is the owner or an employee that is helping us, they take time and show a great deal of patience and always offer their expertise so that we get the right product, the right service, or the the correct advice - a great local store that opens early and stays open late.

Absolutely love this place. Given me the best sharpens, best blades, best sticks, best gear all of it. The customer service is absolutely amazing and every pair of skates I've bought from this place I have loved. They recommended me cat 9s and I've only ever skated bauer but I am so glad they talked me into it because these skates are absolutely amazing. best hockey shop in Utah hands down.

I brought my son in for new hockey stakes and pants. We were greeted and helped immediately. The owner patiently helped my son try on several types of skates until we found the right size. The skates were then custom fit to his feet. I thought customer service like this was long dead but man was I wrong. Alan was so gracious, kind, and professional with us that I would recommend anyone in the Salt Lake valley to take the time to drive over to his store. Thank you Alan for a wonderful experience!

Such a neat shop! (It is located on the top floor of the building.) I went there to buy my first figure skates for a class and the shopkeeper, Alan, was so helpful and kind. We found the perfect fit for a reasonable price! Heating and sharpening them was also included in the purchase for no additional cost and the only extra thing I bought were some blade covers. Trying them on in-person helped a ton with figuring out my size and I called something like10 other places beforehand who said they only have online options. Would highly recommend!! :)
