We had a great experience at Parrish Creek today. Dr. Daugherty and her technician were so gentle and sweet with our little hamster, Sprite. He was wiggly and impatient but they were patient with him and they took time to chat with us, not only about the issue we came in for, but about his housing, diet and other care at home. It was clear they wanted to make sure he was an all-around healthy and happy hamster. I really appreciate that there is a good exotic pet vet around, even though they are an hour away from us. It was worth it.

I cannot get through on the phone as it redirects and messages on voicemail aren't returned. Frustrating.

Brought my sick bunny in for a visit. The staff and doctor were very attentive, thorough and empathetic. The doctor truly cared about my bun and his treatment. Definitely recommend.

Very disappointed in communication from them regarding when things are due. I’ve been asking when one of my cats was due for things and never got anything. Finally today I get an email about both my cats and that cat is 2 yrs past due on adult wellness care. I was told she didn’t need any which seemed weird. My other cat got extremely aggressive at the vet after Covid and didn’t bounce back well after dental surgery last year. I found a new vet that is much better at treating without the cat freaking out, because that level of stress can damage a cat’s heart. I will NOT be returning.

We took our bunny there and the staff is truly incredible! They were so kind to me, my kids, and our pet. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely go back for any veterinary needs.

Parish Creek Veterinary staff was fantastic. They got my dog in, in a pinch as well. On a busy Saturday none the less. They show their love for animals and treating them well. Thank you so much!

Kind, caring and professional. My Red Tailed Boa, Mowgli, was given the best of care. Highly recommended...

I really, really want to provide a higher review given the general rarity of avian vets and parish creek’s overall positive reputation, however I’d be lying if I said I experienced the same care and compassion others mention.
I made an appointment for my two small birds for 3PM and paid the customary $50 deposit to ensure all patients arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled time. I arrived five minutes early and was immediately given a room. Parrish clearly values promptness from its patrons, so imagine my surprise when I waited without any explanation for a full 60 minutes. At that point, a very kind technician offered water and said there’d still be a wait. A whopping 80 minutes after the 3PM appointment, Dr. Daugherty arrives without any explanation as to the delay. The physicals were luckily quick, perhaps suspiciously so for a $100 price tag. At her recommendation, I planned on completing blood work for both birds. My green cheek conure disappeared into the back for another ten minutes or so and returned wet and completely catatonic. For reference, we’d had blood work completed at multiple prior vets and he had no where near the same reaction. When asked why he was wet, they mentioned theyd applied alcohol, which must have been liberal to say the least. After waiting over two hours and being an adult with a job that requires basic time management, i declined bloodwork on my cockatiel. Dr. Daugherty was again very dismissive of my questions and concerns, showing absolute lack of sympathy or bedside manner.
I chose this moment to ask just why it took 80 minutes for her to show up, to which she replied some of the vet techs called out. My fellow readers, if this was truly the case, why on earth would the vet not simply call me and reschedule to 4 or even 4:30? Surely that basic courtesy would have taken no more than five minutes.
I finally managed to wrangle said catatonic bird into his cage and paid the $450 for roughly 30 minutes of labor. I do not mean to diminish the value and skill of veterinary services, but this truly feels ridiculous.
Salt Lake City is extremely fortunate to house more than one avian clinic. I plan to patronize another in the future.

The vet here is the worst vet/person I have ever encountered. I brought my beared dragon in because she was coughing. She told me she had a parasite. Great. I treated her for that. She is still coughing. So I took an another fecal sample and was told she would call me with the results. I waited 2 days and when I hadn't heard anything I called in the morning and was told she was busy but they would make sure she called me today because they did have the results. When there was only 20 minutes left in the day my mother happened to be driving by the vet so she stopped in to see if she could get the results and possibly pick up the meds she would need. After sitting in the lobby, patiently, the vet finally came out and was so rude and verbally abusive and was upset that my mom was there to get the results. She essentially called me a liar because "theres no mention that she was coughing" which is absolutely not true, because that is the entire reason I brought her in, in the first place.
I have never in my life been treated so poorly. This woman should have her license pulled. I demanded my medical records be handed to my mother since she is there. She said she'd email them to me.
Once I received the records via email I looked thru them and on the original visit it does state "drainage from nose, heavy breathing and coughing" so honey, either you can't read or you're a liar but either way they way you treated myself and my mother today was completely uncalled for!

Parrish Creek is the most amazing clinic I have ever visited in my entire life. From the doctor to every single tech and office staff member, this is a well run, professional and knowledgeable group of individuals. When you visit, it feels like you’re surrounded by supportive people you’ve been friends with for years! There is a sense of family and pride with this group and this, coupled by the knowledge and compassion evident is why this clinic is a must for all animal owners.
Thank you for treating Sweet Pea! I think it’s the first time she had more fun at the vet than with me! I’m already looking forward to coming back in May ♥️
