Been with them for 28 yrs. With $1,000 deductible. This yr got my new policy and without notice they changed my policy to 1% deductible and still raised my rates.

I've been an Hochheim Prairie customer for over 20 years and I've never had a problem with any claim from Hochheim and even though this particular claim is at an early stage I'm positive there will be any problems as well so thank you Hochheim you guys deserve a 5 star rating

The adjusters will not return my calls and finish my claim. I've been with Hochheim for over 30 years. This is my last year.

Had a home inspection done to get ready to sell my moms house after she passed,I had canceled her homeowners policy with state farm as it was over 300 a month. Three weeks after I went with hichheim a tornado struck hughes springs. Contacted them for a claim when the house inspector said their was RECIENT hail damage. Now they are saying it is previous damage so it's not covered,even though THEIR adjuster stated before he left the property that there was recent hail damage. Stay away from these shady people would be my advise to anyone shopping for insurance

We filed a roof claim back in August of 2017 with Hochheim Prairie Insurance. The insurance eventually sent a small check to begin the repair. I did not begin the repairs as shortly after the check arrived, I became unemployed and was not financially ready to move forward.I then filed the check and paperwork away. Two years later I get a call from a lady from Hochheim. She asked me why I had never cashed the check. I told her the reason but said that I was now employed again and financially ready to move forward with the repairs and she said: "ok, well the check is still good so go ahead and deposit it". I did exactly as she said and then a few days later received a letter from Hochheim that they were closing the claim because I had waited too long. I was very upset and contacted them and was told to send an email for a possible appeal. I did this and received another letter on 9-24-2019 stating they had reviewed it but "Management: has decided not to extend the replacement cost coverage to this claim.I contacted my insurance agent Edmunds Insurance and they contacted Hochheim only to getthe same answer. Hochheim then came back and wanted to drop me completely, due to the condition of my roof. I asked, Carey at Edmunds if there was anything I could do to not lose my homeowner's Insurance. He reached out and Hochheim then came back and said that they would continue the Insurance for one year if I agree to exclude my roof. I had no choices at the time so I agreed in order to keep my policy and continue my coverage until I could find another carrier etc.This was very deceptive the way Hochheim did this. Had the lady told me cashing the check would have triggered this, I would not have cashed it at all. They have placed the 80% of the cost of the roof replacement completely on me.I now have had to use that money to repair my roof as much as possible to not have further damage to my home, while I save to replace the entire roof myself.Very disappointed in Hochheim Prairie's corporate integrity, underhandedness, and how they treated a decade-old customer.UPDATE: I have since completely replaced my roof on my own dime and moved to Travelers. They not only gave me better overall coverages they also were a heck of a lot cheaper.

Not a very good start for this insurance they will not talk with my contractors on the job that needs to be done and they go by a computer program that is not up to date withm the cost of materials

No one answered phone during the business hours. Had to leave a message. No one called before 5 or 6pm. The next day about 7:30pm someone called me. I was preparing to serve dinner and it was a bad time to talk. She said she would call back but never did.

Not too happy with them at this point. Their customer service Sucks. I call to get the member ID for the account registration online. A lady answers and then transferred me to a department with a voicemail that says "our office is currently closed" I call back and she transferred me straight to the same department without saying a word. I called back a third time and she answered saying they are not closed but they can't give me the information I need to create an account on their own website. I mean I don't know what I expected from an insurance company that has a 2 star rating but this is pretty piss poor. This company can't even manage their voicemail system but somehow they are going to take care of your insurance needs? I would stay away from them as I am about to. Good bye Hochheim!
