My boyfriend and I called ahead and reserved the last room available. We show up check in was normal and we start unpacking our stuff in the room when we were asked if we could move to an upstairs room (WITH NO AC) because another lady that was checking in couldn’t walk up the stairs. The room was so hot we had to get a refund and book another hotel last minute. Beware before you book!!!!

Very nice place to stay! It is clean, quiet and compfy. Best bed outside Home I slept in a while. The Staff is friendly and welcoming and we slept through the Night. Peaceful. Highly reccomend!

This is a nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and have kitchenettes available. The full breakfast is limited. Some paint touch-ups in the rooms and more options for breakfast would bump this to a 5 star rating. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and also contributed to getting the rating up to 4 stars.

This is the dirtiest motel I've ever stayed in. Run, don't walk away.. RUN!! The owner really needs to change management and housekeeping!!!! It's gross.

Room 136 had sticky floors, so bring house shoes. The sheets need to be replaced. The phone hasn't been cleaned in a year perhaps. The light over the sink doesn't turn on untill an hour has passed after you flip the switch on. The bathtub drains slow, so your showers will be in ankle/calf deep standing water. The electric socket comes out of the lamp. Maybe other rooms are better. Ours was bad.

Went out of town for a family event and this was the closest hotel I could find; the pictures and reviews looked good so I thought "what the hey". The staff was very helpful when I called to reserve and had questions, even when I checked in. The place looked nice from the outside too. HOWEVER, as soon as I set foot in the room I turned on the lights [the lamp was missing the bulb], I noticed stains on the comforter! I went into the restroom and it definitely was worse. There was mold on the ceiling, the sink was falling apart, I noticed more stains on the towels, walls, even in the tub itself! I did not feel comfortable at all. I could tell the room was not maintained, and didn't even want to bother asking for a different room because at that point what good would it have done. These conditions were absolutely unacceptable! I will never stay here again and strongly advise others to look elsewhere as well!

Very nice place to stay when visiting the area. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and big. The staff was very pleasant. Definitely would stay here again.

Checked-in to a dirty room. Bed sheets had blood stains. Shower had mold. Refrigerator hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. The refrigerator had items left over from previous guest (the cleaning staff is obviously not checking/cleaning the room thoroughly). Changed rooms but the new room was only slightly cleaner and refrigerator was dirty too. My room was not cleaned/serviced after the first night. When I confronted the front desk about this I was told that I must request to have my room cleaned daily. I informed them that I should not have to ask for my room to be cleaned as this is what I pay for. Could not get the TV to work, the staff changed TV's but this did not fix the issue. I've stayed here several times without issue but it appears Black Gold Inn has dropped its' standards. Just sad that this is the best Yoakum has to offer.

Black Gold is an awesome place to stay in Yoakum, TX. Good service, great staff, very clean and comfortable beds.Rooms: Large, comfy, convenient.Safety: Very secure.

I’ve stayed at Black Gold for the last 3years in July for a few days. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I’ve always had excellent service from the front desk. I will return to Yoakum next July and stay here.

My husband and I spent the night of July 21 at the Black Gold Inn. We were pleasantly surprised to see how very clean the lobby and the room was. Much, much better that most 3 star motels. The lady at the desk was very pleasant and willing to accommodate our needs.It was a short 18 minutes from Hallettsville where we were attending a meeting. The breakfast was ready at 7:00 and it was a full breakfast: eggs, bacon, biscuits,cereal, juice, danish rolls, waffles and more. We would recommend this inn for anyone needing a room in the area.Noteworthy details: Desk worker helped with locating places for dinner and was very interested in helping us in any way needed. Plenty of coffee in the room: not just 2 servings like most small motels
