I only go when I absolutely have to. They never have checkers to check out your groceries. I won't do self service. It's not my job. They might have one checker and dozens of Walmart employees standing around. No doubt they are the management standing around playing with their thumbs. I will only go to that Walmart during the day on week days and even then it's a nightmare.

If you can avoid do so. You can bet the only check out lane will be the tobacco speedy check-out. Otherwise you have to use a self checkout. That great if your not trying to wic. It always takes forever to check out. They have no twin carts. The "kid"ones they have have no buckles. Not a pleasant shopping experience.

When at the lake-house, this is the only store for miles! I honestly, don't remember what we did as a child before this Walmart was built. That being said, as an adult I've observed it with a different set of eyes, coming from the big city. There is surprisingly a pretty good selection of organic food. Which I did not expect at all. Meat, produce, beer selections are good and unremarkable. We went to the plant section to jazz up the lakehouse, and there were about 5 plants and they were all dying. Why even have it there? Lol

Typical shopping day, got a few groceries and stuff. Not too crowded, employees I encountered were friendly. Used self checkout, no issues today

Poorest selection of any Walmart I've ever been in. Shelves are never restocked and I always have to end up driving to Lumberton or Jasper to get what I need. Ridiculous! when these items could easily be stocked in the Woodville store where I live. With gas going up every day I don't have the cash to do all this driving thank you very much Woodville Walmart! Very disgusted!

Aside from only a fair to moderate selection of both merchandise and grocery items, this Walmart location would have been rated an additional star. The staff here is friendly, at least speaking of the well seasoned staff, the newbies not so much. The more gentile employees are the type you'd like to sit at a coffee counter with just to shoot the breeze. What it boils down to is that everyone here is trying to make an existence with a buck in population 2,400 and they are doing the best they can. As a customer I like to be acknowledged and when young staff members seem to ignore the fact that there is a paying customer in front of them I have to draw attention myself. What can you expect from the younger folk? Right? We live in the age where parents don't give much mind to their children in their upbringing so what can we expect long term. More middle aged employees will give you updates about the local gossip. Did you hear sirens last night? Go to Walmart, someone will know what went on. You won't find Lady Fingers or Mascarpone here to make a Tiramisu. You might even be lucky to find someone that knows what a Tiramisu is. As well, any unusual spices are best sought elsewhere. The inventory is quirky at best here. What's available in plenitude one week may be obsolete the following week only to resume regular shipments the week after that. It gets frustrating and sometimes it's best to load up an ice chest and go grocery shopping out of town (Jasper, Livingston, Lufkin or the preferred Beaumont ). This store is fine for it's basic, everyday necessities but if you want variety of a more profound level then it's best to seek more populated territory. This is town who's populace is a bit more relaxed and slow paced. There's no hype here. It is a timber milling town that probably has seen it's better days but still exists, partly in the present and partly in the past.
