Very cool place! The Heritage Village is a replica of what a street may have looked like in the late 1800's, and has many historical pieces of interest to each business represented. So the printer shop has printers, etc that were used to print newspapers, books, etc..There's a shop and a very good restaurant on the premises, also. Highly recommended for history buffs, families with kids and really anyone wanting to know a little more about the earlier years of our nation. Our ancestors worked very hard back in the day and the Heritage Village Museum is a testimony to that.

Very nice 'country cooking' restaurant! Fried chicken, greens, mashed potatoes, slaw, biscuits and cornbread....oh would you like more chicken? Wow!!! Then peach cobbler for desert. Good thing that there is such a nice nature trail on site too. Only 3/4 of a mile, but well maintained and informative posts. Really nice to settle all of the meal you just had!!!

Amazing place to transport back in time to see what life was like in frontier towns. Several buildings are authentic or parts are authentic from old towns in the area. Call ahead to find when they are providing demonstrations as you will be able to see people performing some of the trades. Even without the performances, I loved this destination.

We visited this Museum a week ago. It has small indoor display and the real treasure is once you go out to the interior where the village has been setup. There are many period establishments set from moving from the real world. It provides loads of information about the old times and lifestyle. This place stands out among many such museums across the country, because of its rustic setup and some very special displays; one being the Lino-type machine. I wish such artefacts are preserved with greater care as these are invaluable. The buggy barn is another star attraction with expansive display of various carriages with noteworthy detailing. We spent about 3 hours at this place and carried a souvenir of dogwood painted pallet. It is a mesmerizing place for those who love to go back in times and value the culture and heritage of every kind.?

We arrived with less than two hours to go before closing. We were advised to go outside first as the weather would close in - great advice. I have taken a few snaps so that others can see what a wonderful resource this village is

This place is really interesting! Only $5 admission. It is a "self-guided" tour, which is fine as long as you can read the handout they give you, or the plaques along the way. Most buildings were reproductions, but a couple were restorations. The whole place gives the impression that it is someone's extensive antique "collection." There are a lot of inconsistencies - more modern signs (i.e. Coca Cola) that do not seem to fit the theme, or era of the buildings. This is the only reason I did not give a higher rating. But, if you can get past that, it is a great place to visit.

It's a really neat little place to step back in time, and see how life was lived in the past. The docents are well informed, and very friendly. It is well worth the small fee that is required to take the tour.

Nice. They held the annual Christmas pageant from St. Paul's and had a live nativity scene. Free hot chocolate, wessel. And Christmas cookies! Great event!

Loved visiting this place and going through all the buildings that hold so much history. My favorites were the church and school. The gift shop has many treasures that you won't find elsewhere.

A treasure trove of historical stuff. They need to do a better job in preserving it though being open to the weather. Really replicates what life was like 100 years ago.
