This place is amazing! It’s quiet & peaceful at night. You can walk by the creek and listen to the peaceful sounds of the wildlife & see the cute fireflies. Then in the day time it’s soooooo beautiful! So much greenery and the creek is beautiful. The venue itself is stunning! So many options on what spot to get married in. The rooms are large and come equipped with the necessities. The balcony makes such a good spot to take a relaxing break for a moment. This venue is perfect for having an all in one set up. You have a venue and inn all in one. No driving around to multiple places or sites. The staff treated us so well! They made sure things were taking care of and that we had everything we needed. Even helped with my hair dilemma! I highly recommend this inn & Cherri!

From the second you book, to the last second of your wedding, the Messina Inn team is working to make sure everything is perfect. It's a family run business and they take absolute pride in their work. Cherri, the property manager and wedding coordinator makes sure every detail is ironed out and that you are completely happy. Her team works super hard and is SO nice! Her husband is the chef and makes DELICIOUS food! My guests could not stop talking about the venue. It's absolutely gorgeous! They've done such an incredible job fixing up the rooms and making their guests comfortable. I loved that we got the whole weekend to stay there and breakfast was cooked for us. If you're looking for a true Hill Country wedding with Texas hospitality, book Messina Inn. Go check it out, you will fall in love.

Unfortunately, my stay was the most disappointing stay I've had in a hotel or airbnb in my 40 odd years. I haven't traveled much since 2020, but prior to covid/giving birth to my first child in 2020, I traveled & stayed in hotels & airbnbs at least every 2 months on average (from New Orleans to New York to Kenya to Russia to Hungary to Austria to South Africa & France).I booked the Messina Inn La Grotta as a staycation of sorts as I currently live in Texas. I planned a trip to Sea World for my two littles, but could not find a hotel near the theme park that did not have reviews describing below average/dirty accommodations. Instead of booking those hotels, I decided to splurge on what seemed like superior accommodations over 1 hr away. I have a 3 yr old & a 1 yr old crawler/walker. I did not want them exposed to any of the things I read about in those reviews.Sadly, the La Grotta at Messina Inn was MUCH worse than any hotel I would have booked in SA. It was filthy - filthy! Driving through the gates & up to the office building for check in, I recognized immediately that the reviews here on google were likely fabrications. I was not impressed with the grounds or landscaping & the pool area did not look like it was well attended/kept clean. I knew then the bathing suit & swim trunks I brought for my kids would not be used on this trip. I held out hope for the rooms themselves however. As soon as we walked in to the La Grotta, the smell of the place was overwhelming despite a plug in that had been placed at the front door. Instead of a nice clean smelling home, it smelled of an old shut up home & old well used furniture. The floors were absolutely filthy & the rugs throughout the home were unclean & contained obvious dirty spots. The main couch - also a pull out couch was old looking, dirty, torn in several spots as if from an animal & smelled like unclean bodies (I used a quilt from my car to sit on the couch). The refrigerator/counter tops had not been thoroughly cleaned or cleaned at all - while cleaning myself, I found spilled coffee grounds on the countertops & obvious spilled brown liquid in the refrigerator. The showers had foreign hair & contained mold on the tiles. The main bathroom door had a hole that the staff was aware of, but chose not to fix. I spilled a few drops of water on the kitchen floor & wiped the floor with a paper towel. The paper towel as well as my kids' socks after walking on the floor were filthy. My son's knees were also filthy after crawling on the floors.I work long hours & paid close to $700 for a two night stay...for a nice vacation for myself, best friend & my children. I left after one night. I spent less than 6 waking hours in this place that I hoped would be a place of rest for myself & my family. I found no rest & regret trusting the glowing reviews here on Google. Please don't make the mistake I made. Please. Please.NOTE: I shared my concerns & disappointment with staff within a few hours of my arrival. I was offered a discount on a future stay (which I declined - I'm sorry, but I would NEVER come back to stay here - it was so very dirty!) as well as a free breakfast coupon (which I did not use - how could I trust that the food would be cooked in a clean environment & not make my children sick?!). The staff member also offered to come by to clean...which she did within minutes. I appreciate her for that; however her idea of clean is VERY different from my own. She cleaned off the dining room table (which was dirty/had foreign hair on it) & dining room chairs. She then proceeded to spray a disinfectant spray on the filthy rug in front of the couch. I know she meant well, but there is no reason anyone in this business would believe that spraying disinfectant on a dirty rug would "clean" said rug. Please put the rug in a washing machine or please take said rug somewhere to be professionally cleaned. Please clean the couch or replace it. Clean the fridge, the showers

We hosted our wedding at Messina Inn, and it was the most magical experience. Cherri is truly amazing, and we owe so much of our enjoyment to her! I work fairly extensive hours, so going through the whole wedding planning experience with finding different vendors did not really appeal to me. Messina Inn offered an All-Inclusive package that really took care of everything for me. Cherri had already picked the select vendors that she knew would deliver a wonderful product and experience, and that is exactly what happened. I did not have to worry about finding a florist, DJ, cake baker, bartenders, or caterer. Everything was top notch! The planning was so easy, because Cherri was there, as my coordinator, to make sure I was making the needed decisions on time, to keep everything moving forward. She handled it all with such detail! I wanted to go BIG with my florals, and the florist Cherri works with was also incredible at bringing my vision to life! Any little details that I wanted to add in, Cherri had a recommended vendor for! We did a plated meal for our guests, and everyone raved about the food! Jason does an incredible job with the catering, and you can tell how much he loves what he does! We wanted our weekend to be a fun weekend experience for our families, and it was just that. The suites and cabins were wonderful, and well appointed. Breakfast was delicious each morning. It was so amazing to be able to spend the whole weekend together. Your wedding day and night goes by with the blink of an eye. You never quite get to have enough time with everyone! Being able to have our family with us for the whole weekend really just make the experience so much more incredible! I really cannot thank Cherri and Messina Inn enough for helping us have such a special day. We will cherish the memories (and photos and video) forever!

We absolutely loved staying at Messina Inn! As part of our wedding package, we stayed overnight for the wedding weekend with our friends. This included private exclusive access to the venue site and use of the pool, hot tub, and grill which we used for our rehearsal dinner. The inn itself has a lovely Italian aesthetic and is very spacious with plenty of suites and a couple cottages. The suites are well-furnished and come with their own fridge and gorgeous walk-in showers. The breakfast that was part of our package was a very nice spread which included hot food, bagels, all the toppings you could need for them, several fruit options, pastries, and more! This is a great place to come stay as part of your wedding package, or even as a Wimberley getaway with it being so close to Wimberley activities.

Before we started our wedding venue search we created a list of priorities for our wedding weekend. On-site accommodations for our wedding party and families, an outdoor reception, not a rustic barn, but we wanted to be submerged in nature. After looking at wedding venues all over the Austin area I quickly became discouraged and felt like I would never find something that would check all the boxes. That is until we found Messina Inn, a small family owned and operated venue tucked into the quaint town of Wimberly. From the moment you drive through the gates you are transported to an Italian countryside villa where you can spend the weekend relaxing with 32 of your closest loved ones. Each cottage and private room has a beautiful view of Cypress Creek, surrounded by trees, and the occasional deer visitor. All rooms have large private bathrooms, king sized beds, and a fireplace, which added an extra cozy touch when the temps dropped the day before our wedding. As guests arrive at your wedding they step onto a sprawling lawn with tall trees, rock wall features, and views of the creek. We felt like we were submerged in nature for 72 hours and even heard some friends calling it a fancy adult camp. The venue is so beautiful that when it came to decor, we found that minimal was best, as we only needed to enhance the beautiful property. After reviewing all our photos I’m happy with our decision, there is truly not a bad photo from the whole place! We chose the all inclusive package which included full use of the venue from Friday through Sunday. This was a nice touch for our friends and family staying on-site as we did not have to worry about transportation throughout the weekend. The all-inclusive plan also includes having Cherri coordinate and select certain vendors for your wedding, these included the florist, cake bakery, bartenders, DJ, and lighting. If you are planning a wedding you probably already know the amount of decisions you are having to make. So it was a nice touch not having to locate all of these extra vendors, and because they have a relationship with the venue I felt confident in their work.Whether you choose all inclusive or not, you will be required to use the in-house catering. Do not let this deter you!! Trust me!! The head chef, Jason, is a part of the family that owns&runs Messina Inn and I have never tasted any food of his that I didn’t love. Throughout your wedding planning process you’ll have the opportunity to attend 3 tastings where they prepare different selections from their menu for you to try. The options range from mouth watering pecan crusted chicken, to brisket tacos, and savory macaroni and cheese bites. Since this is a small business you can trust that there is a high level of care and attention to detail when it comes to the food being prepared for your wedding. We loved the food so much we even chose to add on their catering for our rehearsal dinner.Throughout our planning process and into the weekend of our wedding we were well taken care of by all of Messina Inn’s staff. Cherri went above and beyond making sure that all vendors were on time and in place. She even brought breakfast to me on the morning of the wedding so that I didn’t have to walk to the breakfast room in my robe and slippers and risk bumping into the groom. Throughout the reception she made sure the groom and I were taken care of with beverages. Cherri handled all the little fires that find a way to come up on wedding days, demanding family members, weather control, and last minute decor setup changes. Cherri wears a lot of hats when it comes to your wedding weekend and her hard work did not go unnoticed. Thanks to Messina Inn we were able to fully submerge ourselves into the wedding weekend experience with our closest loved ones. We had such a memorable weekend wedding and I’m grateful that Messina Inn is a place that we will be able to come back and stay for many years to come.

Wow!! Messina Inn is sooooo gorgeous. The moment we walked onto the venue grounds for a wedding, we were in awe! We couldn't wait for our bride and groom's portrait photos near the waterfall, and the spiral staircase?! I can't wait to photograph another wedding at Messina Inn. It's such a versatile venue and has multiple areas you can choose to have a ceremony. The bridal suite was big enough for several bridesmaids and the grounds give you enough room to take fun pictures with the wedding party, or private couple's photos. Cherri the venue manager is the sweetest and helped us out so much. Not only are the grounds beautiful, but you and your wedding party or family can also stay the weekend as they have space for multiple families. If you're looking for a beautiful venue in a beautiful area, Messina Inn is the one!!
