I cannot believe there are so many positive reviews about this place. I guess I just have higher standards for my pets and the way I prefer to be treated professionally, and NOBODY here was professional in any way. I still have NO IDEA who the Dr was bc NOBODY introduced themselves or acted one bit interested in my cat.
Here's my story: October of 2022 my six months old kitten became lethargic. Being from mineral wells and unknowingly having the absolute BEST vet 5 minutes from my house (I'd had awful luck with two other vets in town before my dog passed away in 2017) I brought Piper to this place simply bc I prefer female vets, and it was closest to mineral wells. As I said, the tech, or whoever examined her was totally unprofessional, and impersonal and didn't act one bit like she cared about Piper, then someone else came in, NO IDEA if it was the Dr, she looked about 18 years old (for all u super sensitive ppl: I'm not age shaming, I'm just making a point ...) and did NOT introduce herself so I thought it was just some random person walking in my exam room until she started talking about the test results. Long story short, and $400 LATER, they never gave a diagnosis except that it COULD BE ear mite related. They also forgot to charge for a stool sample and waited until way later after I got BACK in MW to text me some crazy payment link that DIDN'T WORK!! I'd already taken off work and couldn't again, so had to make special arrangements to drive all the way BACK to their office to PAY, and they didn't even bother to send the stool sample in UNTIL I Paid which would be the next day or so!! Even though it was THEIR Fault... How tacky after I'd already pd 300+ !! NOBODY apologized for my inconvenience or had the attitude that they gave one #@$# about anything. Guess what Bowie drive clinic? Because of that delay the sample was compromised and gave a false negative. Bc when I got through with the debacle of YOUR incompetence, I went to another clinic and they found what was really wrong with my baby. They were also kind, compassionate and professional, AND they actually CARED. No high prices, no fake, uncaring receptionist or young inexperienced vets who can't even diagnose something simple or take responsibility for their mistakes. If I hadn't followed up and gotten a second opinion my cat would have gotten sicker and sicker! DISGUSTING and shame on you.
The young lady at the front desk, I think her name is Brittany or something similar,: you should work on your professionalism.
She NEVER apologized on the behalf of the establishment for any of the mess ups, or acted one bit concerned about anything for that matter. Just pure fake smiles, repeating the same thing over and over... Like a recording.
I guess in hindsight I'm just from a generation where work ethic is a lot different than it obviously is reflected by these ladies. Me and Piper were treated like we didn't matter here and we don't appreciate that. So I take my beautiful babies Piper and her sis Kissy somewhere else now where we Are ALL appreciated.... and all is good! So long to this place :)

So I took my son’s dog here due to him having some incontinence issues. He is older so we thought maybe he had a UTI. She did x-rays and a sonogram. She also did a UA. She stated that his bladder was irritated. Put him on antibiotics. No change. Took him back and she did blood work or so she said and stated everything was fine. I also mentioned his weight loss and she said I could bring him in and she would check his stomach. After almost $1000 I decided to get a second opinion. The new vet called to get his records and they made it a huge problem to send them to the new vet. The bloodwork she supposedly did wasn’t sent. The new vet did their own bloodwork and called me immediately the next day. Needless to say my son’s dog is in end stage renal disease. Had she of done the bloodwork when she said she did, maybe he wouldn’t be as bad as he is now. He was still very active when she seen him but since it took a toll on him waiting to get information from another vet, he isn’t good at all. He is on meds, special food and gets fluid twice a week. He is now down to 50 pounds from 68. He is very weak and now won’t eat. Had she done all the things she should have or said she did, he may have a little longer here with us. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

2024: There's a reason I update my reviews of Dr. Rutherford's clinic. They're simply amazing! Always helpful & are usually willing to work with schedules. We drive from an hour away just to come here for professional (but warm) service, cuddles, treats & more than fair prices! Dr. Rutherford has seen 5 of my dogs over the years & I recommend her to my friends & family as well.
2021: We've been coming here for 3+ years & will continue to bring our pets to Dr. Rutherford for as long as we have any! She has saved my dog's lives on more than one occasion. Her & her staff stayed late, called to check on them, gave them extra pets while in her care & they even make sure that my aggressive dog is comfortable while there. Thank you, Bowie Drive Animal Hospital for making sure my dogs are healthy!
2017: We came here after another vet's office was a complete hassle! We needed to have my dog put down, she was in pain & we needed action fast!
The receptionist got us in within 30 minutes. The situation was a terrible one, but the staff were VERY professional about it! I was pleased with the service we got, everyone made it clear that it was a judgment free environment, that's what I liked about them.

I am new to the FW area and it is always a challenge to find a new vet who you can respect and trust with the health of one of your family members! If you can relate, I highly recommend you give Bowie Animal Hospital a try. EVEN IF YOU LIVE IN SOUTH OR WEST FORT WORTH it is worth a trip to Weatherford for this level of care, especially at this price point!My 15 year old Yorkie had been vomitting and otherwise feeling puny for 3 days, right before Thanksgiving and I was panicking over the thought he might get worse during the holiday. This clinic got me in same day! From the start, I felt like I was in good hands. We ran a full blood work-up (something i had been wanting to do) and it didnt cost much, which was a shock because the reason I hadn't done that before was due to severe price gouging with other vets.The Doc gave me some meds and advice to help the stomach and dehydration issues but also took the time to do a full physical exam and discussed some long-term probs (ie Spartacus likely had a slipped disc that was giving him quite a bit of pain). The stomach meds worked, but probably more importantly, the long-range plan/therapy she suggested for the back helped my pup immensely - which is more valuable than you can imagine because the alternatives, if the situation worsened, were really bad.She even wrote me a few scripts so that I have meds on hand at my home for various situations or accidents that may come-up, which is absolutely invaluable!Importantly, all this came without price gouging or upselling. Vet visit, full blood work, diagnosis and treament for 2 pretty serious issues, and a little stockpile of meds for future issues (my choice whether to fill or not) was all less than $350. This is shocking as I have had vets try to sell me 'old age panels' at $1200 a pop when nothing at all was wrong with my pet.I really like all of the staff at this clinic too. I have felt like Spartacus is in great and caring hands during every visit and most importantly, the diagnosis and treatment provided worked! (Not always the case!)If you need a new vet, are dissatisfied with your current vet, or even if you just think your current vet is 'meh' I encourage you to give Bowie Animal Hospital a try - you won't be disapointed.

We took 2 of our cats in. One for spaying and one for neutering. Everyone was great. The staff was very friendly.

They actually interacted with my dog more than just the bare minimum for the exam. He is a large hyper dog so many don't give him attention. Price was cheaper then the vet we normally took him to. They even gave him can squeeze cheese with lots of treats. Will definitely be returning in the future
