My husband and I have been work with Nancy Schneider for six weeks or more trying to get refinance loan approved. We are extremely unhappy with her and this process. She is rude and frankly no honest IMO. We have excellent credit, no debt and plenty of income for this loan and we still cannot seem to get approved. We decided to go with Southside Bank because of the rate she quoted me and the fact that there was no title policy fee. This was an incentive for me as I thought this would reduce our closing costs. After applying, the rate increased significantly if I wanted to go the route of not paying the title policy fee. We have been back and forth over the assets we own and she even asked us when we built our swimming pool.
We don’t have a swimming pool. Our house was appraised weeks ago and now we are told our application is pending again because the appraisal is too high. The appraiser she hired and I paid $700.00 for, appraised the home at what it would be worth when completed. Our home is paid for and worth 4 times the loan we have asked for. The back and forth with Nancy is ridiculous and getting a loan should not be this difficult.

I absolutely LOVE this Bank. The staff is always so HELPFUL! Nancy is amazing! She knows her stuff. Chris has helped me so much through the years, I feel we are like sisters. She listens to me about my joys and sadness’s. Thank you Southside Watauga

This review is specifically about employee Nancy Schneider, and no one else at this branch. Nancy is arguably the worst person I have ever worked with anywhere I've conducted business. She rarely has a great grasp on what she's talking about, generally skews toward rude in conversation, and has repeatedly placed obstacles in front of me that were entirely unnecessary. Not a single time in the several years I've dealt with Nancy have I ever had what I'd describe as a pleasant interaction with her. At this stage I don't believe she's capable of being friendly or genuinely helpful, to the point where I've come to expect complete mediocrity from Nancy. She actually seems to revel in the minuscule amount of power she wields over Southside customers, preferring to steamroll you when speaking rather than actually listening or assisting as a better employee would. Should you ever need something from Nancy, which you will, you may be met with an air of annoyance or left waiting/hanging entirely. Her attitude is almost always sour, which is of course quite common with folks who don't like their jobs and/or are poor at them. Nancy exhibits this in both direct and passive-aggressive ways. You often have to ask her to actually behave like a normal person in order for her to do so. Example: Today I requested a phone number, which she intentionally read at a speed that was absolutely impossible to follow. The reason? I was asking for the number of her superior, because I've absolutely had it with her. Nancy has also given me inaccurate information on multiple occasions. Try giving her a bit of her own attitude or behavior in return, and of course she doesn't like that. Only SHE is allowed to treat YOU like garbage. I'll be sharing my feedback about Nancy Schneider and this branch everywhere I possibly can now, as no one should have to put up with this kind of nonsense. She has no business being in her role, and leaves me shaking my head wondering how she's still employed by this bank virtually every time.

I grew up in east Texas and Southside is a great local bank. When I moved to DFW in 2015, I was delighted to find they have locations near my home in the mid-cities area. Customer service is absolutely amazing. Drive thru is open till 5:30 and managing my accounts on the app is quick and easy. I’ve been a loyal Southside customer for 14 years. Making a cash deposit after hours at the ATM is super fast and goes right in to your account.I’ve never had any issues. A few times my account was compromised and they notified me quickly and it was resolved. The Bursey Road location in Watauga is great and convenient for me as it’s on my way home from work.

Management & Staff has been extremely pleasant every time I visit the Medical District Branch, they always seem to be in a good mood and thats not the norm these days!! They really show that they care about the customer.. GREAT JOB!!

Not open on the weekends, website is hard to navigate and trying to get ahold of a live person is near impossible, and don’t even get me started on the app……Very very frustrating
