We loved our first visit to the Hobby Town in Arlington. The employees spent lots of time explaining the differences of the trucks and brands and what each type of truck would do. We were very satisfied with the service, selection and quality of the products.

This place was great from the time I walked in the door. All the staff members greeted me as I walked in the door and immediately provided me with great service. Got straight on my Aarma trucks and fixed the problems right there in front of me. Gave me a tour of the shop which was amazing. I live 1½ away in the Austin area and I'm so glad i stopped by. I'm definitely bringing the family back for a race day and pickup a smaller car for my kids.

Asked my wife to stop by and grab a battery. She shared with them a scream shot of the exact item on their website that showed they had the battery I wanted in stock. The staff asking questions my wife couldn’t answer so she called me and I also told them what I wanted. So instead of telling my wife that they did not in-fact have the right battery in stock they sold her a different battery. The very next day when I tried to return it I was told their policy is no returns on electronics. No where on the receipt, nor the website that I could find states this policy. $50.00 wasted on an item I did not want. I usually buy my RC parts online. My fault for trying to support this local business. They received the last dollar from me.

The team at Hobby Town Waco are very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable on all RC products. I brought them my Losi Super Rock Rey to have some work done and my car came out in 100% better condition than when it went in. That is a testament to their attention to detail, knowledge from experience, and care for their customers. I will definitely be visiting this location for future purchases and services.

I dropped off my arrma granite for fixing a little gear near the diff knowing the gear was only $10 And after about a week they called me telling me it was ready. When I get there they ring me up for $80 because they charge $50/hr for repairs and there were two things they needed to fix so that was $20 and then they charged me $10 for a while bottle of diff oil even though they just used a little. Then I get home to drive it a little and find out they forgot to give me my controler.
All of these things would have gotten them a 1 star review had it not been for the kind staff talking to me about rc cars and other stuff like that.

We live in Mcgregor - roughly 25 mins from this location and have used it a few times. Bought my Traxxas Maxx from them. Anyways yesterday my family and I were in Austin so we decided to stop in to one of the HobbyTowns there. The one at 2500 West Parmer Lane to be exact. I’ve been wanting the Pro Boat PCF Mark I for a while and after debating between myself, and myself, I went for it. The guys at the counter at that location on Parmer lane NEVER leave the counter by the way. So if you are new to this, or need to know where something is at in there cluttered store, get ready for the point and “it’s over there” treatment. Anyways I took it up to the counter and it obviously needed a battery and charger - so the guy was looking around behind the counter for a few minutes and then tossed the charger, battery, and adapter on the counter and said “this is what you need”. Trusting them, I made my purchase and drove the hour and 45 mins home with excitement. The fam and I were going to go to the lake to enjoy the new purchase once we charged the battery. Well, the adapter that the guy said I needed, would not fit the battery to charge it. I wasn’t about to drive back to Austin - so we hopped in the Jeep and drove to Waco, with the hope they could assist me. Halfway there I realized they closed at 6pm and we got there at 5:55pm. I rushed in and apologized - because I know they closed in 5 mins.
I’ll put a break in my paragraphs at this moment so everyone can focus on the next paragraph- these guys were overly exceptional when it comes to their customer service, as always, but that night was different. They took their time to find exactly what I needed and even stayed open late - which I hate being that guy and had every intention to not be the guy that made them stay open late, but they insisted and kept saying “take your time” and “that’s what we are hear for”. After about 10 mins they had me set up. I made the $18 purchase that would put our boat in the water that day!
And to thank them, I even bought a Traxxas Crawler - we’ve been wanting one and they deserved the sale.
I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to help us when you could have easily told us to come back tomorrow.
PS: Mr. Mrs. say thank you again!
I’ll never go back to the Austin location.

Drove an hour to by something that showed online was in store. They didn't have it and said the website is handled by a third party. Manager acted like he didn't care.

My family was in there interested in a remote flying plane! My son was trying to learn on the one with controller on the tv screen and the man the that worked got on to us like we were kids telling us to stop are we were going to lock up the screen instead of trying to help us learn about he scolded us. So with that being said we definitely will take our business elsewhere! Years ago I had a good experience there but not this time! Learn how to treat your customers you lost out on a potential sale! ??
