One of, if not the best, rescues in Texas. I have gotten 2 dogs from them, Athena and River and they both are amazing dogs and in great health. Unlike some animal shelthers where people don't really care about their jobs, all of their staff is amazing people and truly love their animals!

Hardly a rescue facility. They'll take months before getting back to you about a surrender and are extremely rude when calling to ask questions.

About 6 years ago Fuzzy Friends took in a homeless dog in our city when our local shelter would not and found him a forever home. I was so very grateful! I was asked by them to write about his story which was posted on their website. In December, I submitted an adoption application for a puppy. About two weeks later I received a phone call asking if I currently have a dog. My answer was yes, I had to put down (due to cancer) her companion. She is very lonely now. I was asked by Fuzzy Friends that "am I aware that this is a puppy"? I am 62 years old, my husband is retired. We live on 40 acres, I walk my dog constantly, on a leash, never do I let her off the leash.(hawks and coyotes). I explained that to her. Now over a month later, I have heard NOTHING. I feel like I was denied because of my age and due to the fact I don't live in Waco. I would welcome the chance for them to visit my home, call my vet and I can provide references. The dog I tried to adopt is still available for adoption and has been at the shelter since October 2023! But yet they "boast" about all the animals that found homes! But don't have the decency to contact you when you are obviously denied. Exactly what is their criteria? Maybe they should post that before you get your hopes up!I have lost all respect for Fuzzy Friends Rescue.

It's like they aren't interested in having the dogs adopted, there was no help as soon as you walked in and you kinda had to figure out on your own where the dogs were. Once you did find the dogs they were outside in the cold, shivering. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

They have a wonderful group of people there. It's so much better than your usual place for animals.

So slow on checking for approval with the applications. Told us we had a 5 day waiting process and on the fifth day it’s still in a huge stack of unreviewed applications. The dog we wanted was already adopted before they got to ours because someone was before us in the supposed “stack of applications”. It shouldn’t take 5 days to review applications and they need to be more orderly and neat so they don’t make the mistake of having someone fill out an application for a dog that already has one. Every applicant should be reviewed before immediately adopting it out. I feel in love with this dog and was devastated to find out she was already given away due to poor management of applications. Don’t come here if you’re looking to find an animal in a timely manner or if you want honesty about applications on their animals.

Poor customer service, I applied to adopted 2 cats almost a week ago. Got an accident call 3 days later when they tried to call my vet office. Then received a call 3 days after that and was informed I was denied which I could understand. But when I was told “mhm disappointing isn’t it?” In the most condescending rude tone possible. I was shocked by the staff completely rude and unprofessional behavior. Definitely don’t recommend applying for their animals.

Wasted almost two weeks of my time waiting to find out if I could adopt a dog only to find out the dog was foster to adoption only which apparently means you have to live in the area. They seriously couldn't put that on they page or tell me that in the beginning? Then on top of that they kept saying they never received any proof of dog vaccinations even though I was on the phone with one of them went I emailed them and she even said they received them.

Fuzzy friends is one of the most unethically run businesses I have ever encountered. They are clearly not interested in rehoming dogs, but rather are interested in taking a non-existent moral high-ground. Apparently they also like to lie to and gaslight their customers. After submitting an application to adopt a dog, I was told that I was not a good "fit" despite the dog obviously getting along with me. When I asked for further explanation, I was told that that the reason my application was rejected was because I did not have vet records, and thus could not be trusted to care for a dog. This is all despite the fact that I have been asked to care for multiple dogs for extended periods of time, and would have easily been able to provide references. Additionally, I am a teacher, and am apparently trusted to care for HUMAN CHILDREN more than I am a dog. Most importantly I was also told, that it is official Fuzzy Friends policy to refuse to allow anyone who does not have vet records to adopt ANY dog from their shelter. I know multiple people who have adopted dogs from their shelter without previously having owned a pet. In essence I was lied to, so that Fuzzy Friends could refuse to let me adopt a dog. All of this is patently absurd, given the fact that Fuzzy Friends essentially steals all the well behaved dogs from shelters that will actually let you adopt them, and makes it so that first time dog owners are forced to either gamble with their own incredibly unprofessional operation, or adopt a dog with serious behavioral problems that they will probably return, and ultimately consign to death. Fuzzy Friends cares for dogs? No they, actually just hate people who want to adopt dogs.
