“Had a wonderful stay on a cross country drive. While we stay in some national brands on long drives, they’re not memorable. Hotel El Capitan is, and in all the right ways. It’s warm and inviting, friendly, super clean, and feels like you’re in west Texas. Our room was so comfortable and had a beautiful little patio. We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, where everyone seemed to care about our day’s drive. And the hotel is dog friendly…icing on the cake. Treat yourself to this special place if you’re in the area!”

“A lovely gem in West Texas. As another reviewer said, don’t let the exterior fool you. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. My friend and I arrived very late one night after we had made a reservation the same day; we misjudged the time it would take to get there. I called to assure them we were coming, and they called me once just to be sure. Comfy beds, spacious shower/bathroom and terrific fresh brewed coffee in the morning. I stayed there a second time on my way back east. We were early enough to have a fine dinner at the Van Horn Cattle Company just down the road. A nice selection of beers, delicious salmon and a perfect cheeseburger. Amazing what you can find in the “middle of nowhere””

“We were traveling through cross country on a 2,100 mi drive. We checked in Saturday March 2nd around 5 pm. The front desk gentleman upon cheek in was extremely personable and kind. This was our first stop. The rooms were VERY clean and nice. The breakfast was delightful and they even had egg whites and turkey sausage options. We were greeted upon exit by one of the housekeeping supervisors and she even asked us about our stay. The only slight drawback is the highway. If you get a room ask for a room on the backside of hotel.Definitely a great hotel in the middle of nowhere to stay !”

“Pictures are deceiving. If you're no taller than 5'4, you might be ok otherwise, your feet will hang off the edge of the bed. The beds are not very good. If you're sleeping with someone (in the same bed) every time you turn you'll shake and awake them. This is Motel 6 standards. The breakfast is pathetic and cheap. The area to eat is in the lobby, right when you walk in and there's only 2 tables. Online the price said $93 but they charged $99 which isn't a big difference but still falsely advertised. In the end, Veteran discount also was not applied.NOT worth the price.”

“The name is easy to remember, the accommodation is very comfortable, clean and tidy, and there is a courtyard to deal with the dog's urination and defecation. The front desk staff are warm and attentive. Breakfast is simple, it would be better if eggs and meat could be added. But for the cheap price it's pretty good. There is ample parking. This hotel is great for road trippers!”

“Affordable and clean. Could use a little painting. The room was small, small bed but good for one. Pet friendly. No shampoo in room or free breakfast which is fine with me if it'll save me a few dollars. Loud train across the road but I didn't notice once asleep. I would definitely return. I'm picky about smells and I was allowed to check out room before purchase.”

“Room was dated and the bathroom was dusty but the facility felt safe and the furnishings other than the dusty trim were clean. The water pressure was so high that it was painful. We also had to unplug the air freshener since I have severe allergies that were triggered by the fragrance. We couldn’t get the wifi or tv working but didn’t notify the desk of the issues since we were exhausted and didn’t need to use them.Overall it was obviously not the best hotel but for the price it felt safe, the staff was friendly and it was in a good location. I’d definitely stay here again.”

“Nice hotel. It's right on the main street and with in walking distance of the local stores. The front desk personal was very nice and pleasant. Would stay again.”

“Sometimes when you are the only Hilton Brand in town the hotel isn't great but I was pleasantly surprised. I experienced a little issue with toilet not flushing properly and the hotel was prompt to get it fixed. The breakfast room and serving area was the cleanest I have ever experienced. The lady took her job very serious. Great job! If there was a downside it is located a little close to the Interstate so you have a little road noise but nothing you couldn't block out. The noise was worth the closeness to the off ramp. No complaints.”

“Clean, quiet, safe. I was looking for a hotel farther from the freeway to park my loaded car with a roof rack. I was able to park between two larger rigs which kept my car hidden. As a single traveler, I’m used to staying in hotels, but I was perfectly satisfied with this stay at the Quality Inn, and would return if needed. Comfortable bed and bedding, hot water, clean towels. Coffee okay. All necessary amenities were present. Thank you!Safety: Farther from the freeway, nice cars in parking lot— a lot of big pickups.”
