I will never step foot in this place again.
Edit: Make sure you double check your bill. I was billed for more than I received, and after several phone calls, they finally fixed the issue, but only after charging me the amount they owed me! Took 3 months to fix and called me a liar for the first phone call.
Surprise billing is a real issue.

I had to take my aunt there. She was having trouble talking and weakness in her legs. The staff was excellent from the beginning. They did tests and everything was good. We got in and out within 2 hours. Great hospital!

Yesterday my husband experienced a minor accident at work, his employer made sure he was taken care of and sent him to UMH immediately. We want to acknowledge the quality care he received at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. Beginning with the staff who helped us off the vehicle, to the admission clerk who checked him in quickly. Shortly after, his nurse came out to kindly greet us and take us back to a room where she continued to provide quality care and support. The doctor came in to treat him, and again, provided quality care for him. They were thorough in their process and explanation throughout his time there. This morning, the doctor personally messaged my husband to check in on him and ask how he was feeling. Thank you UMH, for the quality care and support you provided.

I had a fall when visiting Concan for vacation. I was so scared and family rushed me here. Let me just say every single person we saw was amazing, patient and understanding. Walked me through every step they were taking and reassuring me I was in great hands. From nurse practitioner, doctor, and nurses. Great experience overall.

My wife and I came from out of town to deliver our baby here. We were really impressed by the care provided by the labor and delivery aides, nurses, and doctors. We also liked how intimated and personal the staff was, the registration, kitchen staff, cleaning crew, and resource helpers. The hospital is also updated and clean.

They should not be given one star!!!! This hospital is a JOKE!!! Do not take your family there. My father has been in there since 8 am, he is 91 and a Veteran. He was supposed to be transferred!!! Trauma is more important that moving someone. HE is considered trauma. He's in there for COVID with chest pains. He is having severe chest pains. It took them over an hour before they tended to his pain. Several hours later he needed to used the restroom. He has sat in his poop and blood for over 20 minutes. Still zero response!!! So when he goes into cardiac arrest from the stress that he is having to deal with, that place will be dealing with his family for neglect.

Parents of young children need to brace themselves to be reported to Child Protective Services when bringing their kids into the ER. It doesn't seem to matter what the issue is or that the parents themselves are the ones seeking assistance for their kids -- they are punished for asking for help. I personally know of three separate cases occurring to obviously caring parents in the past year and a half. Social services at this hospital seems to be dismissive of parents and seriously needs to rethink its policy. Texas is a mandated reporting state, yes. But this knee-jerk reaction causes months of trauma and anxiety for the innocent parents. Due to this common occurrence, I cannot recommend UMH to anyone and would encourage all parents to find a different place to go, if at all possible.

So much money spent on a building with a Univision sign outside of it to upcharge the ill with 5 star prices for less than 1 star service. Incompetence at its finest at the cost of others.

I had an MRI done. I was nervous about it. James made me very calm. Even with the 2 bottles of nasty stuff I had to drink. During the test, James was so nice and comforting. I have low blood pressure, so after the test I was very dizzy. James and his manager, Ralph Gonzalez took me to the cafeteria and got me something to eat. They both came and checked on me to make sure I was ok to leave.
This is the best radiology department I have ever been in. Thank you James and Ralph.

We had to take our son to the ER here while on vacation after he suffered a fall and needed stitches. They got us in quick and made sure to address all of our concerns and get him the help he needed. Our nurse Kelsey was so kind and attentive and truly made us feel more comfortable throughout the whole process.

Very nice hospital for routine testing. Make sure that they bill your insurance company if you have insurance, the “discount” for paying upfront is not worth it.
