A stray cat adopted us over the last few weeks and after we were able to confine him when a clinic was open, we went to Rose City. They were able to take us in right away, provide the services we needed and let us take him home the next day as we arranged. The whole process was smooth and well explained. The techs we dealt with were friendly, patient, and informative.
Their services and prices were explained beforehand and I feel they were very reasonable.
Lastly, I greatly appreciate their days/hours. They obviously consider working families in their scheduling.

Sadly you've lost my business. Refused to see my cat with a urinary blockage...a Real emergency. Had I listened to your front desk person, he'd be dead. Thank goodness for Dr Dumeyer at Vet on Broadway, where despite being booked, she saw my cat and is working to save his life. Very disappointed you turned away a returning client. ? I had seen Dr Jou twice, once with a dog and 2nd visit with an injured cat. She misdiagnosed my dog after a brief non exam and felt like she ignored the injury to my cat. Had to return 3 days later with my cat, 103.7 fever and a very infected foot. Only came back a third time because I had an emergency on Saturday and hoped I would be able to see a different vet. Hate to share a bad review, but after no follow up to a privately sent message, I felt it fair for others to be aware.

my puppy had parvo and we brought him to the vet on a friday. They said that he will have to be hospitalized and isolated from other puppies for about a week. we got updates on saturday but on Sunday no one would answer the phone. it was also easter but my dog was in critical condition and there should have been someone to answer the phone. They called me on monday and said that he passed and i went to pick him up. they are a good business only thing is the communication. it stresses me out when i need to know how my dog is doing and no one answers but other then that the vets and front desk people were very nice.

I truly believe that Jonathan (office manager) has forgotten that he is not the veterinarian and he needs to re-examine his job description at the clinic. When pet owners simply want to speak with Dr. Shirey for a variety of reasons and after several attempts to leave messages ( phone and email) we are instead told to find another vet ( after many years with them )- I see a huge problem. I am almost certain that Dr. Shirey was not even aware of our requests to speak to him and Jonathan simply took it upon himself to screen all our calls and messages- that sir, is totally unprofessional! YOU are not qualified to answer medical questions and YOU obviously don't care about our sick pets. All we asked for was to speak to our veterinarian. who has cared for our fur babies for many years- he would not have ignored us like this. Dr. Shirey, if you see this, please call us and let us tell you what your so called manager is doing to your practice.

I dared to question Jonathan, their office manager about his suggested treatment of my dog. When I asked to speak to Dr. Shirey, in order to attempt to resolve the problem, I was told he would call me back. I am a 6-year customer with multiple pets, the office staff told me that they would give my messages to Dr. Shirey. I never received a call back , after five separate attempts, one of which was an email. Then I received a call back from Jonathan telling me He was informed by Dr. Shirey that they did not want my business anymore and I needed to find another vet. When asked why he told me it was because of the way that I had treated the staff! The way I treated the staff was with calm kindness.
Dr. Shirey, you better get control of your front staff and your office manager. They are going to kill your business. I will look for another vet with a little more customer oriented service. Absolutely unbelievable! Whatever you do, do not use Rose city veterinarian clinic. They're entitled attitude gives the message to their customers that they're doing you a favor letting you use their service. This is not the way businesses are supposed to run.

I feel like every vet I take a sick cat to is just an expensive guessing game. All tests came back negative. The staff was pleasant and friendly, so four stars. But, I'm going to be looking for a vet that specializes in cats.

Over priced and rude. Terrible communication was more worried about old injuries than treating the acual issue at hand which ended up being fatal. But hey why treat a life threatening condition when you can treat an old injury and accuse some one of something they didnt know of. Hey gotta make money somewhere >.>

Although we loved the vets and vet techs, the staff who work the front desks and answer the phones are indifferent and uncaring. After the third unsuccessful phone call, I left a message on the website. I never received a call to try to straighten it out. The issues were due to incorrect information being entered in the system. The business, perhaps, grew too fast and the customer service component is missing. We have moved to a more caring clinic with a welcoming front staff.

Have been using Dr. Shirey for years and he is amazing. Unfortunately, Rose City Animal Clinic has grown too big and there are not enough doctors to patients. We have had 2 urgent situations arise in the past month, one of which was handled, but for the other we were told to go elsewhere.
Update: I love bringing my pets to Rose City Animal Clinic and always have. All of the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. Our second situation above ended poorly, but Dr. Shirey ended up being there for us at the end. I wish that they had more vets available, especially for those who have urgent situations arise.
Thank you, Dr. Shirey & team for all of your help over the past few months.

Rose city animal clinic is SO amazing. Dr. Calhoun is an animal whisperer. She and her techs have been great with my cat who HATES the vet and my other two dogs. From emergency epilepsy episodes to wellness visits they can do it all. Thank you Dr. Calhoun and techs!
