“It’s a an earthly delight to walk this path in an endearing garden setting. It’s a slice of heaven. So much beauty can be attained with a little effort and planning. I saw it in practice with my own eyes. The plucky chickens and a dear friendly cat makes a visitor feel like they’re at a happy home with the gracious creator/artist owner.”

“I like this family run nursery. They are friendly and helpful. I have been shopping for plants here for several years now. I’ve noticed that they have been improving everything from large parking lot, to side walks, and also take credit cards now (it was only cash or check when I first started coming here). My only issue is that they don’t sell as many specific Texas or East Texas varieties of plants. For instance, when I looked to buy blueberries, I went to buy a few specific varieties that do well specifically in Texas. The varieties that were offered at Hughes were just the big box store varieties. This last visit, I did notice some plants that were targeted Texas plants. I hope to see that market broadened to include varieties of blueberries, fruit trees, roses, grasses, etc.
The gentleman who was standing near the cashier saw how sweaty I had become while shopping for plants and offered me a cold water bottle. He also not only helped me load my car but he even opened my door for me. Great service Hughes!”
