I used to go here and i absolutely loved it, wish i could go back but i’m not as young as i used to be lol. Best experience by far, great staff and it’s so much fun. We were always doing fun stuff like going swimming and we used to do these cook outs basically and cook food and go shopping for our parents.

This is a daycare I would most certainly send my children. The owner Susan Soward greatly cares about kids and wanting them to grow and learn in every area, so they are ready for school. Go visit and see for yourself, meet Susan - you will be impressed!

I sent my son to The Growing Stick and was very impressed! Everyone was so kind and truly cared about my child and his education. I HIGHLY recommend it.

My son was viciously bit by the same child TEN times on his face, arms and torso. The director wanted to move MY son up to the next class when he was fit for his class and had a healthy attachment to his wonderful teacher Ms. Therese. I found out the biter's Mom works there and that's why they wouldn't do anything to keep my child from being bit by this child. I responded very professionally via conversations with the director and eventually a letter to the director requesting the child be dismissed after the 10th bite. The director Susan ignored my letter. After threading child care licensing she moved the biter up to the next class but lied about how much they were still being put together. They told me he would only be around him in the evenings if there are 9 or less toddlers and one teacher gets sent home. Before they told me they would always have an extra floater to monitor offending child which obviously was a lie. They were also combining them during lunch, after lunch outdoor play and nap which they did NOT tell me. I found out because I decided to go have lunch with my son one day. I asked the teacher is this happened every day and she said yes. My son stayed with severe bruising on his face and body for weeks due to bruising. I provided pictures in my letter and it upsets me that I was ignored. My son no longer attends this daycare. I hate that I had to uproot my son and wreck his stability because their inability to mitigate this problem.

My son has been in Denton, Plano, and now Tyler daycares. Denton and Plano daycares were wonderful! We picked this one when we moved to Tyler because it was honestly our last resort and seemed the best out of what we had to choose from. Which was very little! We have been on waiting lists at 3 churches here for months.Since my son has started there he has had more bruises and cuts and scrapes on him than any daycare he's ever been to. At first he liked it. But now he fights us and yells and cries not to go every morning. He says that 2 kids hit him all the time. We have brought it up countless times with them and they just don't care. The girl that works the front rolls her eyes and is extremely rude! The owner is never there, and her daughter runs it. The Daughter has told me countless times the owner would contact me, but she never has! They apparently think they are child psychs and are helping these kids that hit and say "they have come a long way." Well great! Wish I had known you take in terrible problem kids and let them hit and hit and never once report it to the parents of the kid being hit! They say "they exhaust all of their resources before they kick a kid out." So I guess they have to kill another kid to get the boot!? My wife has witnessed both of those kids fighting numerous times. One of them hit a little girl in the face while my wife was standing there. Now they say they want to move my son up to a older class to get him away from the 2 problem children. Yet it's been 3 weeks and she's still "working it out." But what about the other poor kids that have to deal with these 2 problem kids? And why move my kid up with older kids? He hasn't done anything wrong! I can't send him to a school that lets kids hit him and have a clear conscience about it. Not only that his teacher ate his lunch the other day! Wth!?This is the last straw for me. Worst daycare he's ever attended. Tyler needs better daycares and more of them! I'm sure people think their kids are safe there, but they think that because nothing gets reported to them. We have never once received an incident report from them about anything! They said "they are working on that." But in the same sentence they claim they are "highly trained." Ha! 20 years and you're still working on a simple incident report form!? Wow!The saddest part is they will stay full of kids only because there are really no other options for parents in Tyler.
