I towed my truck to MHC on Thursday with a poor DEF message on the dash, upon rcvg it I spoke with Mateo and explained the issue I was having with the truck. I was told if I got it towed there that day they would have it in the shop that day. Didn't happen. Monday I get an email from the warranty people with an estimate for a oil pan?!!! So I call them on that and he says he wasn't aware of a DEF issue all he got from the tech was an estimate for a oil pan. Finally they diagnose the trk with a bad level sensor/quality.
In the process of putting the oil pan back together, the tech broke a crankcase tube which put the truck back another day and a half.
Initially I was told the truck would be done Saturday and they would wrap it up Monday. It is now Wednesday the following week and he still can't tell me if the truck will be ready today or tomorrow. Because I was told the truck would be done Monday. I booked a flight for Tuesday to go pick it up. That didn't happen so I canceled the flight rescheduled for Wednesday. Still no truck. So now I am canceling the flight again and just going to book one for the following Monday.
Throughout this whole ordeal I never got one update call or email from the shop. If it were not for me calling in for an update I would just be in the blind.
As a small owner operator with only two trucks. 1 1/2 weeks for a $300 part really hurt not only my pocket but my drivers.
I can't say they're the worst shop but it was a bad experience. I did read other reviews where most of them were positive. Just wanted to share mine.
Well...
After I flew out to Abilene to pick up my truck, upon getting my invoice The manager Ron came out and took me in his office and we had a nice long talk.
He showed a real concern about the lack of communication from his employees. He was really apologetic and he understood the position that this puts a owner operator in when their truck is down for any period of time and the $'s lost!!
All said and done Ron was very fair, upright and understanding manager!!! And he did make it right.
Overall I walked out a very satisfied O/O.

A HUGE thank you to Ron Hanna at MHC. My husband and i had just delivered a load near Abilene and were heading to our next stop when we blew an airline valve and our brakes locked up. We called the closest Kenworth location, which happened to be MHC, and Ron was able to help us over the phone finding the part we needed. Not only that, but as it was 5 pm and he was heading home for the day, he brought the part to us on the side of the road. This is true customer service and very much appreciated.
If you are looking for 5 star service and integrity, then this is the place for you and Ron is “the man”!

As we all know, visiting a repair shop is often associated with unfortunate circumstances and costly repairs. HOWEVER, my recent experience at the Kenworth Shop in Abilene, Texas was exceptional and rare, despite the costs involved. This review aims to highlight the fantastic job done by the shop, particularly in addressing my truck's engine and transmission issues.
I cannot emphasize enough the outstanding work and communication demonstrated by Bradley and Aaron. These two individuals played a crucial role in my truck's repairs, showcasing remarkable professionalism and skill. From start to finish, they kept me informed, educated, and involved in the process. Their ability to promptly address any concerns I had and ensure that I understood the progress being made was truly commendable.
With 24 years of experience in the trucking industry, I can confidently say that the level of communication I received from Bradley, Aaron, and the entire shop team was unparalleled. Their transparency, responsiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile left a lasting impression on me.
Overall, my experience at the Kenworth Shop in Abilene was exceptional. They not only provided excellent service but also exceeded my expectations by resolving an issue I previously thought was impossible to fix with my transmission. Patience, enthusiasm, kindness; I don't know what words to use to express my admiration for them. I've been here a few times, and each time I feel their enthusiasm. Today, I'm here again, and I couldn't fix my truck in another repair shop for a whole day. I solved it perfectly in an hour here. Thank you, the best technician in the United States

My experience was very bad. I spent 2 days trying to get fixed a problem with the engine fan. At first sight, the problem was simple, but it seems that for them the problem was the entire truck. They tested, and the result was a problem with the ACM unit. Which it cost 3000 grant, so I decided to travel from TX to FL and take my truck to my mechanic and the result was an airline broken from the inside. It was replaced and no problem at all. And they were going to charge me thousands of dollars for a simple cable. That's bad. However I paid 1200 dollars for the test they performed. Be aware of it boys. Stay away.
Guys, I took my truck in because of a problem with the engine fan. And they wanted me to change the ACM unit which costs 3000 grand. I decided to take the truck to my trusted mechanic in FL and the result was a broken air line inside. I spent two days waiting for a result and what they practically told me was that even the engine had to be changed. How about these people? Stay away from this site.

I came in with a volvo truck with Air conditioning issues.
Volvo trucks jacked me around for 2 days waiting for ac compressor.
I came into Kenworth Abilene texas and they got on my problem right away.
Britney ordered me a compressor over night. Amazing service at this garage.

They were able to get me in quickly, I had to wait until the next morning for a part that had to be ordered but they had me on the road the next morning. The Service Manager was an Owner Operater at one time so he knows what it means for "the little guy" to be down for repairs. Great group of guys!

Called ahead because I was in full derate, pulled in and was immediately taken care of. Hooked up computer cleared derate updated computer and was on my way within a couple hours. Bonus was no charge.
