I just want to give a shoutout to Elsy, the clerk who checked me out at the register. She was so patient & kind to elderly gentleman in front of me in line. It's a pleasant surprise to see such kindness expressed to the elderly in our community. GREAT JOB ELSY!! ?????

Supervisors will change the schedule literally the day before and then blame workers. Highly unprofessional behavior from the people in charge. Will turn blind eye to certain employees and allow them to disappear for over an hour at a time. Maybe their revolving door problem with employees is do to with the less than subpar management.

This store is a joke. It’s never clean. They don’t open on time and they lock the doors early. The young gentleman man that works evenings is rude and has no customer service skills. I am not one to only contact corporate about the bad. I have also contacted you to let you know that the Leonard Texas location is amazing. But Trenton Texas location needs some serious supervision. I showed up one morning and had to wait half an hour for the dm to show up with a register key. The poor woman who opened kept apologizing and telling me they only have one key and it’s not left on site overnight. Well then the dm needs to be more responsible and show up on time. And then tonight my husband shows up at 10 til 10 and a line of customers are being checked out but he is locked out of the store and only wanted bread and shaving cream. I manage a retail store and if my supervisors caught me closing a min before closing time I’d be wrote up. I have even been told several times by employees, “we close in 10 mins hurry up.” I’d be terminated for that. I think you need to do a little better evaluation upon hiring some of these people. I’m pretty sure about half of them.

The woman at the check out was so incredibly rude, not sure if she was having a bad day or what but I won’t be returning if that’s how customers are treated there. I’ll happily drive to the Leonard location.

Everytime I call the store they never answer the phone. Never ask if people need help. What’s the point in having a store phone if they never use it ??♀️

I was at the store yesterday (1/3/21) at around 4p. The lady behind me at the check out and her 4 children were not wearing masks. While at the check out the lady starts coughing repeatedly into her hand and said that she was feeling hot! I am praying that she was not sick and did not end up exposing multiple people to COVID. I am wiritng this review more as a warning to others to be aware in case you were there. To Dollar General, please enforce the rules you have in place for the safety of everyone.
