Been using this Y for just over a year. I wish I could give it 5 stars since the staff in the gym have been great and my personal training sessions with Michael were a great start for my fitness journey. The problem started several months ago with the pool changing their policy, forcing kids to wear a life jacket at all times, even if you are within arms length teaching them how to swim. The last couple of visits the life guards and staff at the pool were rude to my wife and kids to the point my kids (3 and 5) thought they were in trouble and did something wrong simply for using the toys at the pool and the life guards being brash with them and my wife. I draw the line at my family being disrespected no matter how much I have appreciated the rest of the facilities. It really is a bitter end because I have seriously appreciated the rest of my experience with the Y but I cannot in good conscience pay for a membership that will be rude to my family.

I joined here for the swimming lessons .. must say very well maintained pool. Staffs are amazing.. my swimming instructor Miriam AH is amazing .. I picked up basics like floating, gliding, flips, breathing , free style in a just a week’s time with her techniques . Extremely patient she is.. having a wonderful experience so far..

My 5 year old twin boys had swim lessons at the Shadowbend location with Marcella - she was a fantastic swim instructor! They learned so much in a 12 week session. I highly recommend this YMCA location and Marcella for swim lessons!

I had an amazing experience having Marcella as our swim teacher! Marcella is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and made my daughter's swim lessons fun. She did a great job of tailoring the lessons to their skill level. I highly recommend Marcella to anyone looking to improve their swimming skills.
