My family and I had a pretty tough day at Woodlands Eye. I brought my two 5-year olds for pre-school eye exams as recommended by their pediatrician.
Even with 15-minute staggered appointment times, they separated my daughters with different eye technicians and completely different exam rooms, meaning I could only accompany one at a time. Their equipment is not designed to accommodate small kids, so I had to hold each child in my lap for the measurements and photos. I wasn’t offered the option to decline the (extra charge) photos of the eyes.
Because my daughters were in separate rooms, I had to make an urgent call to my husband to leave work and help me.
I tried to give feedback to the doctor, but was told they have to separate small children so they don’t “help” each other (only a very small part of the exam is reading letters). In addition, the doctor mentioned I had brought an “extra child” (my 3 yo son, who had been behaving great), so keep in mind this practice is just not friendly to families.

Dr. Chad Toups was amazing explaining everything about my eyes issues never had someone explaining like that, love the facility all look very professional and nice! They lady who helped me pick frames was super sweet also! Highly recommended

People who are considering this clinic for their eye checkups or any other eye related problems, please take my review very SERIOUSLY...!
I took my wife Charmee here on 2-16-2024 for an annual eye checkup. After her checkup was complete, we paid the bill and came back home. The bill seemed a little different from 2023 checkup so we called our insurance and checked what tests were covered and found out the clinic had charged us some $29 extra. No biggie, we called the clinic and got that resolved & refunded.
The 2nd part of this story is the followups after her checkup. Based on her tests she needed a new set of lenses so they told us that she will recieve a trial pack of lense in about 2 weeks and once she feels comfortable with those we can order a 6-month pack. They followed the same process the year before so we were fine with it. Forget about the 6-month pack, she still has not received her trial pack (till date- 3-28-2024). It has been almost a month and a half now. And to make the situation worse, she has called the clinic multiple times, most of the times no one answers and it goes straight to the voicemail. She has left messages on the voicemail multiple times but no one ever returned her call. Finally she was able to get hold of someone last Thursday and that person told my wife that he will get the 6-month pack lenses shipped and they will be delivered in 3 business days.
The final disapointment comment: It has been over 5 business days and we haven't received those. The worse part is that he did not even tried to get her a trial pack to make sure the new lenses work fine for her or not.
Not sure if this is some kind of malpractice or what, but it surely seems like one.
DEFINITELY WE ARE NOT GOING BACK THERE.!!
And my suggestion for others would be the same but if you plan to go please make sure you don't go through the experience that my wife did.

I am always pleased with Dr. Brown and the eye technicians. Dr. Brown does a great job of explaining everything and all are very courteous and helpful. ON THE OTHER HAND: The sales people of the eyeglasses side are downright rude. The checkout desk personnel were shocked that I wanted a copy of the Rx, as I was not ready to order new glasses from them at that exact moment. (I had glasses made there previously and had to come back twice for adjustment!). The person checking me out "forgot" to give me the Rx copy, and I was almost to my car when I realized it and had to return for it. No apologies! The whole checkout procedure made me very uncomfortable and I am considering changing doctors for that very reason.
