I recently took my 2017 Dodge truck in for service at Adams Automotive for a brake job, expecting a professional service based on their reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
First, the estimate I received from Adams Automotive was shockingly double if not triple the price what I was quoted by another reputable repair shop (Goodyear Auto Service located at 4550 Panther Creek Pines).
While I understand that prices may vary, the significant difference in cost raises concerns about pricing transparency and fairness. I asked for a detailed breakdown to understand the reason for such a high quote, but the explanation given was vague and unconvincing.
When I returned almost three hours later to pick up my truck (without any work being done) a manager (unknown name) approached me and did his best to convince me to allow them to do the work at their location. He even said, “just for training purposes please tell me why you won’t allow us to do the work” and then he told me that perhaps I didn’t understand that Adams Automotive actually had two different types of charges that could be applied to the repairs.
One was using premium factory parts which was much more expensive and the other was using cheaper brake parts that didn’t come with any type of factory warranty, but would lower the invoice price. He also said that if I was interested, they could work out a payment plan for me, after I told him repeatedly that I was retired senior citizen and on a fixed budget.
The manager was still very aggressive with me to make the repairs on my vehicle until I told him flat out that I could not afford their prices on the simple brake repair job and would take my business elsewhere.
I have lived in The Woodlands for over thirty years and do my best to support local businesses in our community, but I will not support a business that will attempt to over charge senior citizens that are on a fixed income and doing their best to make ends meet.
Overall, my experience at Adams Automotive was very disappointing. I would highly recommend anyone needing auto repairs to get multiple estimates and carefully compare what is included before committing to any service.
This was my first and last visit to Adams Automotive due to the way I was treated and their unsuccessful attempt to pull a panty hose over their head and gig me out of my senior citizen money. Based on my visit to Adams Automotive I cannot recommend anyone to them for any type of vehicle repairs.
I would like to recommend Goodyear Auto Service located at 4550 Panther Creek Pines who had very reasonable prices and professional service to get the job done right!!

I’ve been going to this Goodyear for the last five or so years. They do an excellent job and stand behind their work. But the main reason I continue to go is that they are honest good people. I highly recommend this Goodyear location.

Good service. Clean waiting room. Service manager kept me well informed of the progress of the work being done to my vehicle. He also gave a thorough explanation of all of the costs.

The Goodyear guys really took care of me when I was in a difficult spot; I had driven down to the woodlands for work and unexpectedly ran into some car troubles. Luckily they were right across the street and they were able to check what was wrong within 30-45 mins. They found out that it was my radiator fan and that I would need a new one. They didn’t have one in stock and they called everyone around town to find one for me, because they knew that I needed to drive home to Austin. Luckily they were able to rush order a new fan for me and made sure that the service team would have enough time to finish putting the new one in before they closed. They also held on to my things for me while I went across the street to grab some food so that I didn’t have to haul my work back with me! Going to a car shop and dropping money on an unexpected expense is never fun, but they made the process so much better! Would 100% recommend this Good Year, especially to anyone in a pinch and needing immediate help!

Fantastic experience! Toby and his crew were answering phones, ordering parts and working nonstop with polite and helpful attitudes. My tires were ordered and installed in record time. Will definitely use these guys all the time. Thank you! Great job!

While visiting Texas I had a couple of different issues with my tires. I took my car to Goodyear and they were so helpful and efficient each time. I felt secure about traveling back home (over 800 miles) with the repairs that had been made.
