Recently, I had a negative experience using the self-checkout kiosk at Kroger. It seems like a new system powered by AI (possibly GenAI) . While I understand the goal of improving customer experience with AI, this system fell short in my case. The problem arose when I didn't have enough space on the bagging area for new items. As I tried to move previously bagged items to make space, the system froze triggering a warning. This lead to an embarrassing situation where I had to wait for an associate to review security footage to verify I wasn't stealing. The entire process was time consuming and left me feeling frustrated and humiliated. This experience makes me question the system's effectiveness. If every customer with more than a handful of items has to go through a similar review process, it defeats the purpose of a quick self-checkout option. I rather have a sales associate do the check out. I think the Business and CDO organization rushed this use case without doing enough due diligence on all nuances!! Overall, this encounter left me hesitant to use self-checkout at Kroger again or even return to Kroger, especially if this AI system is still in place. It seems counterintuitive for a technology designed to improve customer experience to have the opposite effect.

I love Kroger pharmacies. Everyone at this location is so helpful and so kind. They also had more of my prescriptions in stock more often than other locations nearby. My insurance changed, now they're out of network, and I'm so sad about it!

For the love of god avoid this place - always an issue picking up medications even if you have the same exact prescription for years

The staff was friendly and professional. However, we scheduled an appointment for vaccines and had to wait for them to thaw. Honestly, if we’re there by appointment, they should already be thawed, otherwise what was the point of scheduling an appointment?

The worst service ever. No one at customer service for 15 mins or so during during lunch time. When she returned she was unpleasant to customers who had been standing waiting for help.

I needed to return an item, but guest services was closed. I walked up to Gerald, who was assisting the self-checkout area, and he was very helpful. This location seems slightly short handed because Gerald called for help multiple times over the intercom and no one ever came over a period of about 10-15 minutes. He ended up helping me with the return himself, while running around helping people in the self checkout area. He seems like a very diligent and hard worker and this location is lucky to have him as an employee!

Kroger just turned into jail with barriers blocking exit’s making it hard for going in/out specially in case of an emergency.

Self checkout males are not too knowledgeable & can waste time lecturing my phone # may not match my acct. It does! I have 1 card that is my acct. The clipped coupons are on it! Showed I clipped the coupons, acct/card #, & time for the older blk male to type his codes in! AM Mgr had no idea. Called CS. Also, self scan males will grab your phone! Had to insist he give it bk. I can bring up my account. Wasted time.

I asked an employee where something was and his response was " I don't know where everything is". I said ok and he said get aw from my station and don't talk to my customers. I have been shopping at this kroger for 30 plus year and have never been treated this way. I then proceed to ask 2 other employees and they were extremely delightful. Still couldn't find what I was looking for. But I will think twice about visiting this Kroger again.

There is an Asian guy who uses his bare hands, sometimes right after he coughed into his hands, to count the medicines. I do have video to prove that.
