Planned a weekend trip to Galveston and they called me 2 hours before I'm supposed to pick up the car and state they don't have any cars available. Had to call the corporate office to get my money refunded. The way this company does business is disgraceful.Update due to reply from business:My solution would be to have a system that will not let people make reservations for cars when there are not enough to go around, that way you don't have to call the customer 2 hours before pick up time and ruin their weekend. I would also refund the customers money immediately instead of letting them figure it out two weeks later when they're going through their credit card statement. I don't understand how my review is on the wrong page when I see Budget on Google maps and inside Walmart?

So I rented a car for 30 days while I was having work done on my personal car and the car I rented itself was nice and clean I loved it, the rates they offer were great too! However the staff does not match. I would have to go in person several times to extend my rental because they wouldn’t answer the phones, then when I would arrive no one would be at the counter so I would have to wait. I wasted my lunch hour driving to the location waiting for something that could’ve been simply done over the phone. I returned the rental car Monday never got a receipt, the girl just took keys said thanks and walked to the back and I wanted to know how long would it take to process payment and deposit. She proceeded with a rude tone “we don’t take money out it’s just a hold” which to me just says she knows nothing about the process and she’s very condescending…I then explained to her I’ve extended from my original reservation I just needed to know when should I see that reflected balance and deposit? She said “I don’t know you have to call customer service phone number they can help you” and gave me 1-800 number. I asked for her name she gave me “Celeste” so heads up if your renting here staff needs customer service training badly!

HORRIFYING experience. The clerk “manager” is reaching over the counter trying to attack us as you see as well as verbally attacking me. Budget, is this what customers are to expect? All this because she charged us an amount we did not approve us and requested it to be corrected. If I could give 0 stars I would. As you can see the other employees are trying to calm her down. They also kept all our money, and we got no rental car. Thanks Budget!

In my personal opinion this place is very unprofessional I tried to contact him for the last 15 minutes of their shift I got hung up on twice they didn't even answer for phone for the last 15 minutes I got hung up on twice budget corporate office I would not recommend them for anything

When I went in to get the car they didn’t have one tho I had a reservation which was frustrating. Waited two hours and they finally found one. What made me most disappointed is I returned the car early and they wouldn’t reimburse me for the days I didn’t use it but enterprise did when I rented again after returning their car. I won’t be using them again and will stick with enterprise in the future.

We rented a car at this location for a 2 day business trip. Both the clerk and the manager Dave were very helpful and kind. Yes there is a shortage of cars at every rental company, yes you need a corporate ID if you are using a corporate rate. Makes sense. Yes you should have a credit card if you don't want a hold on your debit card. People seem to be nasty to staff because they don't understand the basics of renting a car. I prepaid online to save money, used my loyalty number with Budget and presented my drivers license and credit card. They were out of the class of car I booked, again out of their control, and put me in another car which was an upgrade. Awesome. Once we turned in the car Dave thoughtfully followed up with a quick call to get my email so he could send me a receipt. Great service. They also allow you to photograph any damage there may be on the car before you take it out of the parking lot and you can email pics for proof. So much better than going back inside. Really love this convenient location inside Walmart.

Rented a car for a week here when in town. Car was returned in same condition as it was handed to me. I even filled up the gas tank before returning. Couple of months down the line, they are sending me invoice through some viking billing service claiming that the car had damage and I am being billed for over $525. This is such a scam. I think they are targeting out of town folks on purpose so that we can't go back to dispute at the location. Also I have read online with numerous out of town people suffering from such a shameful acts. This is such a disgrace.

Very frustrating. They work so slow. There car wasn't clean or Sanitation properly. Outside of the cars was very filthy. Very unorganized the staff that is. Waited like 45 minutes to receive a car already on the lot. I was the only customer there.

Never ever use budget, was told I would get a full refund, and lied to. Tried over and over to reach customer service with no answer. Employee working the front was rude and no help. There’s a enterprise across the street, go there. You could be trying to save 50.00 dollars here and end up losing much more. Please don’t use budget, this is a WARNING to all.

Poor customer service. I cancelled my reservation & will never rent here again.On my attempt to pick up a rental, I approach the desk & both clerks are busy with some paperwork , so I patiently wait for them to finish. About 2 minutes, still no acknowledgement of me & Clerk 1 answers a phone call. After the call, I ask them if I need to have someone else help me because I haven’t been helped. They both then ask what do I need?I respond with my need & let them both know that the customer service is horrible & cancel my reservation.

David was so friendly and helpful. It was my first time at this Budget location and I think I will make them my permanent car rental location based on his personality and awesome customer service.

David and Team are amazing. They are always so accommodating and provide the best service and pricing available. Their vehicles are always super clean and in tip top shape. Highly recommend David at AVIS/Budget and wouldn't ever rent from anyone else. If you ever are in need of a rental go see David. He will take very good care of you! A+++++++.
