We'll report back after renovations are done.Black mold was in our bathroom and living room exterior walls.Service was great in responding to our concerns. My only concern is that if you know the 4th floor is being renovated, why would you book anyone on the 3rd floor without informing us?Marriott is great and this location is getting a much needed face lift. Let's hope they address the mold concerns.

Our room had black mold everywhere, and we were placed in a room directly under a room that was under construction, so we were woken up by hammers and loud banging. Hopefully the construction/ remodel will get the mold problem under control. Customer service was good, we did receive a full refund.

Dirty dishes, dirty coffee pot that has never been cleaned, the refrigerator was filthy, found a cockroach in the bath tub. The furniture and floors needed to be replaced years ago. Very suspicious stains on the sofa. Overall, for the price I paid for the room, I'd say I drew the short straw on this one. I can definitely say I won't be staying here during any future visits to Texarkana.

Do NOT visit this hotel at this time. They are doing hotel renovations and it's not suitable to stay there at this moment.I am from Texarkana and I went home with my girl for a party for a relative. Booked this hotel without knowing that they were renovating and I was disappointed. They only have 1 person working the front desk from 3-11 pm and I had to wait until after her restroom break to be served. The 1st room she put us in had standing water in the dishwasher and one of the 2 burners in the kitchen area didn't work. The iron's cord was severed so it was inoperative. Total mess!We were given a different room, which was MUCH BETTER, but the iron in that room still didn't work. Also, one of the 2 room keys didn't seem to work each time, except for the 3rd time I asked. It's clear that Marriott hasn't put money in this hotel...the appliances (dishwasher, microwave, irons, etc) were all OLD (probably from the 1990s or later) and they will just now have a breakfast area THIS YEAR (that was one of the hotel's renovations). The majority of major hotels already have a big breakfast room for sitting and eating.I picked this hotel because of the free hot breakfast every morning, but never again will that matter for me. I will be more cognizant of reviews AND I will call the hotel front desk and ask questions from now on. Of course, lying can happen, but I will be able to tell.I wanted my sweetie to have a great experience with my very 1st online hotel booking...but I felt like a bit of a failure. At least we had a roof over our heads and I was thankful for that.

I was very disappointed that the burners to the stove don't work, and the coffee pot doesn't work.. Housekeeping should have checked that out before they rent the room. Also, the end of the bed was slumped down like they need a new mattress. The name Marriott itself means Quality, they're definitely not living up to that standard

Worse hotel ever. I travel all the time staying in different hotels nationwide. This location was by far the biggest disappointment. The room was dirty, dishes in the cabinets were not washed. Very poor quality, service and experience. Our family will never stay here again.

Sadly, I also did NOT read reviews before scheduling our stay. So much for relying on Marriott to manage quality of its properties. These owners should be held accountable, or lose the Marriott brand. Read the other recent reviews...ditto on everything. I understand old, but this place is dirty, and there is no excuse for that.

AWFUL! Wish I had read reviews before staying here. I found what I thought was a tick on my pillow after laying in bed for three hours. Went down to the “front office” aka a bedroom.. and told them and asked if I could have a different room. (I tried to switch hotels but shockingly every hotel in Texarkana was sold out) they did apologize and move me rooms. I sent the picture of the bug to my uncle who owns a pest control company and he said it wasn’t a tick, it was a bed bug. Needless to say I didn’t sleep very well. I bagged all of the stuff I was wearing and will be drying on high heat when I get home. ANYWAY, once I knew it was a bed bug I wanted to be sure to notify the office as I know they can be a real problem and cause an infestation. I told the girl in the office my room number and that I was wrong and it was a bed bug and I just wanted to give her a heads up so it didn’t become a problem. She didn’t get off her phone, didn’t write the room number down, and said “uh-huh” as I told her. Oh, there was also mold in my second room.. but I didn’t waste my time telling her that.

Under construction rooms are clean but extremely old. They not worth 190 a night. Places like this should give people notice that they are in construction before getting there and give discounts. Breakfast is in a hotel room and looked aweful. Their office is in a hotel room as well. The company needs to stop being greedy and explain things as they really are. Also good luck finding the office the signs on a side door are very confusing.

Beautiful rooms. Clean. The pool area was clean and they had teal folded towels on every table. Bathrooms clean and kept up. Have to have a card to get through the doors. Extremely
