Overpriced and not clean. My family and I got a membership to use the pools during the summer and they were full of bugs and leaves every visit. Also beware of fine print. You have to give 30-day notice to cancel your membership (as if this is an apartment lease). Not worth the money.

Kids always love to come here to swim! Been coming for a few years now, but Probably won't be back often as often though. Prices have gone up ridiculously high, with 4 kids and 2 adults, $20 per person is too much now

this place is way to much for one day? 60 dollars for an adult for one day it’s crazy expensive.

Loved the pools and the reasonably priced snacks.

Love love this place, people are sweet and always willing to help you with any questions you may have. The only thing is that is pricey. I’m in a teacher salary and can’t really afford it.

I have had a blast at this gym! The water aerobics instructor is full of energy and connects to her class. The pool has been blue and mostly clear this summer, even with all the kids and people visiting. The staff, lifeguards and instructors are friendly and helpful. The building is maintained well, with a few minor issues with plumbing, Ac or the sauna. The workout equipment is great, repairs done efficiently and never needing to search out a cardio machine. Never really felt as connected to the weight room, and plenty of peaceful workouts with no pressure trainers, but the classes have been the real pull to this gym. Seems like the memberships change periodically and some pricing issues arise, but they have been super helpful resolving issues with my fellow classmates.

Came in about two weeks ago for a birthday party and were denied entry at the door. We called ahead of time to check prices and see if outside food and decorations were allowed. No one mentioned anything about being understaffed or that we would not be able to swim that day. When we got there before we could even get in the door a girl at the counter told us we would not be able to enter due to “not enough life guards available “ and two parties going on already. We were confused because no questions were asked and most of the group were not getting in the pool to begin with. We then were told there were no rooms available at the moment but we did not need a room we just wanted to get in the pool for at least a hour and go home. We’ve been to the pool several times, I even got my kids swimming lessons here so I was shocked at the type of service we received.

The prices are way too high, the water makes our suits smell sour and nasty, like they don't know how to use the right amount of chemicals. They changed the August hours of the pool where you can't even go on Sundays. They cut back the hours on Saturdays. You can't even by day passes once the staff starts to go back to college because they claim it is too difficult for one person to man the desk while selling day passes. There is a large water feature in the pool that has been broken all season and no one can even tell me when they intend to fix it. And to top it all off, they apparently close down the pool to private parties without even mentioning that of course at the time when your membership is sold to you, and without making any real effort to inform those people with memberships. I am through with this place, and will be buying season tickets to the waterpark next year instead, where I can pay a lot less overall and have access to much better attractions.

The pool is way overpriced and the water smells. They probably just charge a lot because Texarkana has virtually no other pools to join. Sportsplex is the only ticket in town and they seem to be taking advantage of that.

I recently joined The Plex and have been so impressed with the cleanliness, staff, equipment….everything! I am so glad I finally left the other “gym” I was a member of. Well done, Sportsplex!???️♂️???️♂️

I would give a better review because we really enjoyed going to the pool all summer last year but I just looked at the daily prices and I am shocked by how high the prices are now. With gas prices and inflation right now who can afford to take a family of 4 to swim now. This is insane. We will no longer be able to patronize this establishment. This makes me sad our girls where looking forward to this summer's swim season.

i was passing through town and wanted to take a drop-in fitness class. i called this gym about a week in advance to figure out pricing and options. i was told a single class was $10, a weekly pass was $35 and a punchcard was $40. today, i decided to drop-in for pilates and was told a single class was $15 and a punchcard was $20 + a $10 drop in fee for each class (so effectively, $120 for 10 classes.. nowhere near the $40 i was quoted). i never made it to the class because the waiver signing and computer issues took 15 minutes and no one could explain why i was given drastically different pricing over the phone just a week ago. out of respect for the instructor and the rest of the class, i decided not to waltz in after 1/3 of the class was complete.in summary -- if you’re visiting texarkana and looking for a drop in class, i can’t recommend this place because unfortunately, the staff doesn’t seem to be trained well. there are plenty of lovely locally owned studios if you do a little digging.- to sportsplex management - if you’re changing your pricing structure so often that your staff can’t keep up, that’s a problem. this information should be on your website to eliminate confusion and reduce customer dissatisfaction (and phone calls!).- for those seeking a membership, as other reviewers have highlighted, the pricing is HIGH. higher than what i pay at my larger home gym with more amenities, olympic weights, more classes (plus a greater variety), an indoor pool, and a much higher cost of living. i’m sure sportsplex is nice, but it is not a good value from what i’ve seen.

If this gym is still owned by the Minton's I would never recommend signing a long term contract. I had surgery and could no longer use my membership. However they expected me to pay out the 8 months I had left on my contract. When I didn't, the Minton's sued me for the measly amout left on the contract. Very Greedy and the worst of humanity!
