My wife and I practically live at EZPAWN—we're there so often that we're thinking about setting up a tent out back. My wife, Karla, has two besties there: one whose name starts with K and rhymes with "Gimmy," and another whose name starts with L and rhymes with "Maura." I can't name them because, well, let’s just say we’re not on the best of terms at the moment. jkjk ???
These two aren’t just kind and sweet; they’re sales psychologists with PhDs in “getting you to buy stuff.” They could sell snow to an Eskimo. I've got so many tablets and computers piled up at home that I'm considering opening my own pawn shop.
These ladies know my wife better than I do. If I try to buy something for her, they’ll be like, “Nope, she won’t like that—go for this one,” and unfortunately, they’re always right! I never said that until I slipped up yesterday, but it’s true—they’ve saved me from countless bad purchases over the years. They even remind me of every holiday imaginable—Mother's Day, our anniversary, Karla's birthday, Jesus' birthday—you name it, and guess who benefits? Karla! From rings to cameras to shoes, they've got it all, and they know what she likes. They’re a dynamic duo, and I’ve had to start leaving my wallet at home to avoid being outsmarted. ?
Then there's my bestie, Kenya. She is hilarious! She's also a book of facts and full of surprising nuggets of information. She once taught me the true meaning of "bless your heart" (I’m from Indiana, so I had no idea), and now I can’t stop saying it to random people that cut me off in traffic. Kenya has the best book recommendations, gives fantastic deals, and shares amazing family stories and recipes. I make my big purchases with Kenya because she's team Joseph, no question.
Jessica is another gem—she loves firefighters and police officers, so if you're in that line of work, she’s your go-to. The two new guys are great too, especially if you're into tech and firearms. We have a lot in common, and it's always fun chatting with them.
All in all, we often find ourselves at EZPAWN just to talk with the staff—they've truly become like family. Can't stay away from the deals and the wonderful people!
