I had high hopes for a good Porsche shop in Central Texas. Unfortunately Werks 911is not it. I dropped off a longhood to install a new muffler and then troubleshoot an idle issue and miss at about 4500 RPM. The shop had the car for about 5 months. Oddly, this shop insists on sending a weekly invoice to collect even if the scope of work is not complete. This was the first red flag. After receiving about 5 invoices, I finally told them I’m not paying another penny until the car was complete. A few weeks later I got a call that they test drove the car. In addition to needing a battery, I was told the car was handling very poorly. The owner explained that it was unstable and likely needed new shocks or even torsion bars. He suggested to start with new shocks. I told him this was very odd because the car always handled very well (even compared to the late air-cooled cars and a GT3). A tech later reached out and said the tires were just low and the car was fine after adding air. Really? This was the 2nd red flag. The battery died during the many months off the charger. I approved replacement. This is where it gets really shady. They billed me shop time to “Research the Battery” and “Engineer a Hold Down”. What the hell! The exact same Optima Red Top was put back in the car! They charged several hours to “engineer a hold down” and put a dirty old ratchet strap around the battery. Photo attached. I told them there was no way I was paying for these bogus charges and they refunded these charges. They also told me the idle issue were due to needing a new Idle Control Valve. They said they swapped from another car and this was definitely the issue. So they billed me for the Idle Valve and the installation time. Before I picked up the car, I asked them to test drive it and make sure the issues were resolved. I drove the car home and once the car warmed up, the miss at 4500 was still present and the idle issue problem had not changed. The Idle Control Valve charges turned out to be bogus as well. I called the shop and to report. They were preparing for Rennsport Reunion and said they would let me know when they could get the car back in. They never called back and at this point, I would never let them touch any of my cars again. Run from this shady shop.

Really disappointed, felt I really needed to share to hopefully save someone else from the same experience. Brought my 930 in after a recommendation from the Porsche Club to diagnose a no start/no run issue. Turned out to be a warmup regulator. Regulator was sent off and rebuilt. Once reinstalling, the car started and ran. Not sure from there what happened because the car’s fuel mixture was never right after that. Couldn’t drive the car more than 70 miles on a tank. Had it towed back in and was told that the CIS pump needed to be rebuilt. It was rebuilt , reinstalled and redelivered. Still fuel mixture was way too rich, so I let the car sit and drove it only to local events because the driveability was so poor. Fast forward a year. I get tired of not being able to drive the car and send it to my tech at Planet911 in OKC. To which he diagnosed the issue. The warmup regulator and CIS settings were so far off that it looked like nobody at Werks could have possibly used pressure gauges to dial the car in after replacing the fuel system components. We set the pressures, got the car dialed in then decided to change the oil. Upon inspecting the oil after draining it, it was so full of fuel that it had literally washed the material off of the rod bearings (as evidenced by the large amount of bearing material in the oil). In a nutshell, I’m stuck rebuilding a fairly newly built motor. I would have thought that the ability to properly set fuel mixtures on a CIS system would have been a prerequisite of a shop that specialized in aircooled Porsche’s. I can’t say how disappointed I am in Werks11 and the local PCA region for having recommended them. Having the car taken to them was very costly error on my part.

Werks 11 is great. They did phenomenal body/paint work on my ‘72 911. They did a side view mirror delete on the passenger side that required welding a paint blending. Swapped drivers side mirror and welded/painted extra holes. You can’t tell any work was done no matter how close you look. They color matched the back of my Cibie rally lights and painted from black to blue color of my hood. Also did some carb work that gave me more power. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring any air cooled Porsche to this specialist for any mechanical or body work. They communicate very well and genuinely seem to care about making sure the customer is happy.

A bit on the pricier side but was satisfied with service so would have given them four stars. Took a star off because they sold my information without consent and now I'm getting quotes for my car from Carmax etc. So if you value your privacy don't come here.

Werks 11 - took my pride an joy - Boxster 718 and outfitted it with a Soul Performance Sport Catalytic Converter Downpipe to make this car sound like it should. I can feel the extra HP boost and it makes this car even more fun. Werks 11 did a fabulous job and took great care of my car doing the work. Very professional and knowledgeable. Very picky about who does my work - will be going back. They also support the PCA and do tech sessions and other events. They are ALL Porsche...so don't take your car to a place that does Mercedes and Jag's go to a place that specializes in Porsche. Worth the trip from Austin. Amazing. Pic of my car. By the way there restoration work is AMAZING...place is like a museum.
