Rented a sod cutter that kept slipping out of drive. Worse was the blade depth lock mechanism was so worn I could not keep the blade set deep enough to do its job.The workers idea of testing the equipment is to engage it over the pavement under no stress.Lesson learned, don't rent here!

Decided to stop by this Home Depot in search of propane tank hoses and accessories on a Tuesday around 2:30PM. Second time in less than a week I'm left waiting in the aisle for an associate familiar with what I needed. First orange apron wearing associate is not familiar so he calls for assistance over store intercom, disappears, and 15 minutes later still no help. Decided to walk over to customer service area and once again inquire about getting some assistance after already waiting 15 minutes. Once again they page over intercom and another 15 minutes later still no help. I just don't get how I always see a few orange apron wearing associates huddled together but cannot assist, will call for assistance, disappear and never check up on you to see if you've been helped.

Shout out to Chris and Greg for taking the time to go above and beyond. I intercepted Chris as he was about to leave, and he still patiently helped me locate some tricky tile. He even signed me up for the rewards service and told me all of the tips and tricks. Greg was then able to retrieve the tile from the topmost shelf on the other side of the store. I also appreciate the help loading the cart and car. Top notch service all around!

I bought a Weber grill and paid to have it assembled. Assemblers never contacted me to arrange service and wouldn't respond to my emails or phone calls. Home Depot facilitated business between me-- a paying customer of theirs-- and a fraudulent business. You're better off going to the Lowes right next door.

This one store right here is perfect for any of your at home project needs! You will find whatever it is your looking for, or better! As I walked inside I was greeted at the front door, as I walked throughout the store I was also assisted by multiple employees from every department. I only have one major concern for this store. VICTORIA? - in the paint department is EXTREMELY RUDE. She gave me AND my grandmother attitude and did not care to help us. She is the ONLY person in the entire store to ignore me so proudly. I stayed in the paint department long enough to realize she is the LAZIEST thing there. Her coworkers seem overworked with her lack of help, annoyed and tired of her bs. Please do the store a favor and remove slackers to better the experience for future customers. She was the worst part of my experience & I would love to be back to my favorite Home Depot once she is gone!

This review only concerns the employee, Cedric at Tool Rentals. He is rude and seemed to be as unhelpful as possible. Cedric said repeatedly that if there was a flat tire, or any of the trailer lights did not work, he would push one button and charge my credit card an obscene amou t of money for the whole trailer cost. Cedric interrupted me on every sentence. Very unprofessional. I will not do business with this Home Depot Tool Center while Cedric is there.I made a reservation online which contained all the details. Cedric ask each detail again, not to confirm, but just refusing to read the reservation.2023.02.27th

I generally prefer this Home Depot, as the location is convenient and the store is clean. When I was last there, they still had a human cashier on hand, unlike some other Home Depots that have removed them.

Endless selection of paint, plants, everything to help you grow plants, lumber, appliances, everything you need for your kitchen, and an endless selection of tools and many of them have a lifetime warranty if they are from rigid the Home Depot brand.I did buy my husband a complete set of rigid cordless 18 volt battery powered tools that he thoroughly enjoys using. The Milwaukee is generally considered the best but the rigid is half the price and comes with a lifetime warranty. My son is a carpenter prefers DeWalt but so far so good with the Ridgid tools. This is a great location in Central Austin and servicing Southwest Austin also.

I visited this Home Depot on 2/04/2023. I went to this location to rent a carpet cleaner and was turned away due to not having a Texas ID. Upon arrival, the tool rental desk employee stated that the store changed its policy only to accept Texas IDs for rentals. I was at this location over a month ago and rented this tool with my out-of-state ID with no problem. I understand that security is of utmost importance. However, I also feel that this policy would be considered unfair against people who have moved to Texas from out of state and do not have a Texas ID. It takes months to secure an appointment to get a Texas ID. It was a frustrating experience. After speaking with the tool rental employee, I asked if I could see the new policy. Neither the employee nor the manager was willing to find it. The employees did not help resolve the issue and offered no alternatives to the problem. The store manager claimed the policy was due to losses due to theft. Theft has nothing to do with not accepting out-of-state IDs. This home depot is the only place in South Austin that offers the tool rentals I need. This Home Depot location in Austin missed the mark and failed to meet customer expectations.

Home Depot is my place to go too always clean well stock plenty of parking and always has everything I need. The only downside is that if you are having trouble finding something there never seems to be anyone around to help you find something.

Craig went above and beyond to make things right for us. In the crazy holiday Black Friday rush out tree got snagged. Of course my 5 year old started crying and was so upset. Craig went inside picked him out a toy and had us pick a nicer tree. All in all a very awesome experience. Thanks so much Craig for saving our Christmas.

I purchased some items and was not handed one of my bags and I didn't realize until the next day. I called and nicely asked if they had the bag that they never handed to me at checkout and they did. I am out of town so I asked the manager if they could hold it for me for one more day and they said no. I gave them different options that they could do such as, put it in a pickup locker, hold it behind a counter, just anything and they said no. They said they could ship it for $79 and of course I said no since I only bought a few items not worth $79 to ship one mile away. It's is insanely frustrating that I am unable to pickup my order that I PAID FOR and that they DIDNT GIVE TO ME. The manager was insanely rude on the phone and unhelpful.

Home Depot managers please take notice. Customers can not buy products locked up if they can not get someone to open the case. I understand why the tools are locked up. I have no problem with this practice. I can only think of two possibilities. Either you don't have enough people to cover the needs of the business or the people you have could not care less. The result? No sale.

Takeaway: Do not trust anything the associates say at Home Depot. And do not trust management to stand behind their advice. I sent my son to get primer for painting water-based paint over oil-based. He asked the paint counter associates what type of primer is best for that purpose. They gave him a polyeurethane sealer for raw wood. Completely the opposite of what was needed - it makes the surface very slick and paint will not adhere well to it. But my son trusted that HD staff knew what they were talking about, and went ahead and put on that sealer then started painting over it. When I saw what he was doing I stopped the work. We went to HD to get them to cover the cost of removing the polyeurethane they had incorrectly recommended. Turns out they had (what looked like) a teenager in paint that hadn't a clue and had given the bad advice. They referred us to their insurance department, which seems to be an internal operation as far as I could tell. Their insurance adjuster told me that HD does not stand behind the advice they give, ever, and that if we follow their advice and it causes problems that's our problem not theirs. He was most emphatic on that point: HD does not stand behind the advice their associates give, or the expense it may cause. My equally emphatic response was that they should not give advice if they won't stand behind it; it's worse than useless. So, a couple of results from that, at least for me. 1. HD advice is 100% worthless, despite all their claims that they have experts in the store to help you. They do not stand behind it, so they shouldn't give it. 2. HD executive management does not have the ethical integrity to support customers whose projects are harmed by mistakes that HD staff make. 3. After spending close to $100K in HD in the past few years on several projects, directly and via contractors, and never once asking for them to cover anything, they won't cover a couple of hundred dollars to fix their error. As a result, I'm going to shop at Lowes from now on, and will make sure our contractors buy from anywhere but HD. That's the last time I ever step into a HD store. For the sake of a couple of hundred bucks and showing some integrity, HD have lost 30 years or so of future business from my company. A pittance for them, I'm sure, but not when multiplied by the thousands to millions of other small business owners who may have similar experiences and responses.
