Zar is the worst store ever. They sell trashy material at an exorbitant price. I had been their regular customer and had also referred them to a lot of people but unfortunately they have zero ethics and customer retention or satisfaction approach. In short I would not recommend shopping from this store to anyone at all. They just want to just get rid of their old ugly stock and God forbid if you have an issue they don’t even stand behind it and disappear like they never existed.

The owner of Zar is extremely rude, she doesn’t know how to speak to her customers. Without going into details, I would say, stay away from this store!

I have been getting my clothes from Shanaz Aunty for over 15 years! She designed my wedding clothes and I can’t describe how beautiful my outfits turned out. She is the sweetest most kindest person I know and her entire team is always available to help. I live in Atlanta and I get all of my clothes designed from scratch! She is truly an ARTIST and the best in the fashion industry in the entire country!

My mom and I have been purchasing from ZAR for many years now and Shehnez Aunty has not disappointed us! She custom makes all of our outfits exactly as we want them and she has many creative ideas that no other designer has been able to top. Her outfit designs are out of this world!! I recommend Shehnez Aunty to anyone who is looking for Bridal, Wedding, and Party wear!

I came in to Zar last minute (also pregnant, so hard to fit!) to go to a coworker's wedding. Even though there are not price tags on anything, they took the time to sort through what I could fit into (it was hard...), colors that would be appropriate, and even did some simple alterations (turnaround less than 12 hours!) included in the price. I had a great experience. I would visit and buy from here again.

Literally only giving them one star because we had an outfit shipped to us. I'm going attach pictures of what we asked for - and what we got. You'll be able to tell which is which from sheer disappointment. They are HORRIBLE HORRIBLE at communication. They were suggested from a mutual friend, and we are extremely disappointed by the referral. We mentioned several times that this outfit was for my sisters wedding and yet they still went on to create a less than subpar outfit. We originally placed a deposit for a fabric we LOVED via pictures. When they went to go buy the fabric from "the market" - it was "sold out" so they bought the fabric in another color. We gave them a budget for the event way in advance, they came back saying if we still wanted the fabric we'd have to go above budget. So ultimately after 3 WEEKS OF MINIMAL COMMUNICATION AND AFTER PESTERING THEM TO REPLY Ruhee passed us on to Shenaz (her mother). We asked for our deposit back because they were unable to fulfill our promise. They then went on to mention "we have a strict no refunds policy - it's listed on our door". I LIVE IN DALLAS! I've been to their store once in HOUSTON! Did not see a sign. SCAM. WE WASTED $350 dollars on a saree we are unable to wear. (We had to buy two since the deposit was placed) BEYOND FRUSTRATED AND UNSATISFIED! PAY EXTRA AND USE ALMAS TEJANI IN HOUSTON THEY DID A MUCH BETTER JOB! They had the audacity to request a good review after sending us the saree pictured. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNRELIABLE, HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION, AND A WASTE OF MONEY. Not to mention they pick and choose who they give priority too. They want to grow their business outside Houston, they'll need to improve prior to that. To add on the blouses "long sleeve" was SHORT and TOO TIGHT and unalterable from the forearm. Who wants these two unworn free saree's? The good reviews are 100% from close family friends trying to increase their ratings. Notice --- it's only 5 or 1 star reviews. Good luck if you still choose them to create your outfits. There was so much more wrong throughout the process. This review is written to caution new customers. It's not written in anger as other reviews suggest. I bought a new saree from someone else since this saree is useless. If someone truly likes the saree in the image, I will ship it to them.

Do not buy dresses from here as the owner Shehnaz is a FRAUD. Firstly she doesn't stay on her words. We made a payment before the delivery of our stuff and when we went to pick up our dress; she said we did not made any payment before. Thank God we had payment receipt with us as a proof. On top of that she started asking for extra money stating that the rates have increased as on today. What a cheap lady she is. She has no sense to do business and doesn't know how to talk with her customers.

Terrible and just terrible. Extremely unprofessional. Looks like Shahnaz chooses her customers(do not know what is the criteria though), in 2nd or 3rd visit behaves sooo strange as if 'do I really have to do your work'- do not know very strange reluctant attitude as if I am not here for you, you are here because of me- really!! Can not believe any one likes to work with her- i was so hopeful when I first entered in the store. I was expecting it to be better than most of Hillcroft- but was disappointed. Shahnaz will not tell the price of any personalized item- even if you keep asking till the end- when you have no choice of going to someone else - Complete mess in order - first wrong color of the pajama for my son, then charged extra for the wrong one! then when finally i picked up, both completely wrong pajamas after she confirmed its here and informed her I am picking up - daughter who is at store has no idea of anything and gave completely wrong pajamas- how can she do that???? All this after 3 months of ordering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So make sure you have 6 months in hand to get something done - right or wrong! And I still waiting for the right size/color/material to pick up - unbelievable.

We ordered some Punjabi Juttis from Zar and one of them came in a very small size than what we ask for. Also they changed the color according to themselves, even the sole for the jutti for much harder than the original even though we asked for a softer one. The second thing is that there is no price tag. They make the price tag according to themselves. They don’t stick to one price, at once they say something and then they flip to another price. I felt a very negative vibe and would not recommend anyone going to them.
