My 10 year old has been going here for the last 12 months. AS A PARENT, BEST DECISION I EVER MADE FOR HIM. He is confident, disciplined and getting stronger. All credit to the Amazing Coaches (Coach Steven, Coach Laura)…under the close watchful eye of Professor Chad Kight.
You want your kids to do great in school, life in general, let them be part of competitive sport and nothing like MMA. Teaches discipline, humility, camaraderie and care.
Yes, all these qualities while learning a combative sport. All credit to the amazing coaches and Prof.
Thank You SL MMA

Before joining the Sugar Land MMA Family, my son struggled with anxiety and depression due to bullying. Thanks to the life-changing experience he continues to have with the Sugar Land MMA, he has found strength and resilience. Chad Kight of the Sugar Land MMA has an exceptional ability to cultivate physical, mental, and emotional strength, empowering individuals to improve their life skills and develop positive habits. His leadership and mentorship have had a profound impact on my son and all SLMMA students, fostering dedication and loyalty. Every day brings new achievements in Mui, Thai, Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, and personal growth. Gratitude to Chad Kight, Steven, and all our supporters.

The classes are good and the environment was friendly. I payed 150$ and was told this was the only payment I would have to make.
I later moved to Missouri because I was struggling to find a job in Houston. My mom mentioned it would be a good idea to ask them for a refund so that I wasn’t broke while in Missouri, I didn’t really care about getting the money back because I was planning to just go start working. I contacted them and after two weeks i finally got a response from them. This was their response “Unfortunately, per our policy we do not give refunds.
Additionally, per our agreement we will need to have proof of residency in order to give you the moving cancelation fee. Otherwise, the 2 month payment and two month notice will happen.”
I was never told about any of this when signing up and they stated that it was in the contract I signed( that’s where I messed up)
READ THE CONTRACT THEY GIVE YOU
But I trusted them, they were very kind and respectful. But evidently they are very money hungry and will use childish tactics like this to get money from you.
Now they’re also saying they’re going to have a lawyer after me to make me make those payments. What a 180

Sugar land mma has helped me in many ways. I’ve made new friends, getting in better shape, learning self defense while also greatly improving my mental health. Coach is very patient but thorough and pushes his students to the best they can be. Even though jiujitsu is definitely a contact sport, everyone here makes me feel very safe and lucky to train at SLMMA

A Cautionary Tale at Sugarland MMAMy journey at Sugarland MMA was fraught with challenges and disappointments. Initially, I was excited about the rigorous workouts, but the training itself turned out to be quite basic. The coach, Chad, often seemed disengaged and unfocused, which was concerning.Unfortunately, the environment took a turn for the worse with overly aggressive training partners. In a particularly distressing incident, I sustained a severe injury to my left leg, tearing my ACL and Meniscus. This was not only painful but also career-ending, which was a massive setback for me.Following the injury, I attempted to cancel my membership, only to be faced with an unexpected and hefty charge of $1700 over the year. My efforts to resolve this issue were met with a dismissive attitude and an insistence on a contract that I found dubious. The staff, including Coach Chad, seemed unresponsive to my situation, even suggesting unrealistically that I could make a comeback like Anderson Silva. The financial burden was compounded by their insistence on continuing to charge my credit card even after cancellation, leading to additional stress and frustration, especially given my mounting medical bills. In summary, my experience at Sugarland MMA was deeply disheartening. The lack of empathy and support from the management and staff, coupled with the financial and physical toll, made it the worst gym experience I’ve had. I would advise potential members to be wary and consider other options, despite the gym’s convenient location in Sugarland.

As someone who loves martial arts, I highly recommend this school. I’ve been studying jiu jitsu for almost 7 months now and I’m in love with it. The dojo is amazing, along with my fellow classmates and sensei who taught me so much and more.

Once you’ve enrolled in this school, not only you learn self-defense, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, and fitness, but you’ll create a camaraderie with other students.

The children's instructors (Steven & Presley) are amazing. They're attentive, caring, through, and very able. Not to mention very professional and sweet. But that is where the good parts of this place end. The owner Chad was rude and combative when he called me regarding a negative review I wrote (that he erased on FB). I have been in martial arts a good part of my life in various styles and schools. Chad however, runs SL-MMA like a corporation rather than a community martial arts school. His location charges a hefty premium to join for classes that are only 2 days a week which are over crowded with no room for parents and visitors to sit and watch. Very often he holds these seminars for the kids that he charges a fee for to squeeze out more funds. Then to top it off, which is new to me, he charges students for belt tests. As if the student needs to pay to move up a level. I have never seen this at any school. Even though the belt test fee is "only $50", if you add up all the extra charges it all seems like a money making scheme to milk money rather than to run a martial arts school in the community run under the logo of "MMA". Lastly, the kids classes are over crowded and the AC only seems to be on when Chad arrives, other wise the school runs on a fan. All of this is highly unprofessional.

I absolutely love Professor Chad and didn’t think twice for signing up for his classes after my first class. His staff and the environment is so welcoming and encouraging. I love the honesty and feedback that’s given as well. Even though there’s plenty of people in the room, Professor Chad will always have his eyes on everyone (so don’t try to cheat a move). I wish I signed up sooner. If I could give a 100 stars I would.
