I brought my legally carried CZ Scorpion to this location for service. I did not have an appointment as not required according to website. I greeted the owner as I approached him in the garage. I told him I had a jam in my weapon and that I cannot remove it from the barrel. He said "what kind of jam, grape, marmalade of something else"? This initial contact was off putting and slightly offensive as this is a business and flippant remarks are not warranted. So I clarified, I have a jammed cartridge in my CZ Scorpion that I cannot remove. He said OK let me see it. I have the pistol in a backpack so before I pulled it out I grabbed the key as the weapon was locked. I told him that i'm very careful with guns and I have a barrel lock for my safety. I then pulled it out from the backpack and he immediately told me that he could not touch this illegal weapon and asked do I have the federal documents for the stock on it. I proceeded to tell him it's not illegal as it was a brace and its totally legal as it was purchased legally in the state of Texas a few years prior. He proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that I need documents to prove my claim. I once again disagreed with him and told him since we both think we are right i'll just leave get it serviced elsewhere. He again told me no reputable company would touch my weapon. I told him thanks, and left his establishment. The gentleman needs to be aware of the rights of citizens and up to date on codes (federal laws) of weaponry. I found him to be extremely smug and condescending. My hope for him is basically to educate himself as he will be better suited to service the community. I would post the legal clarification for him but I feel he should do his own research as he might feel better about it and not from a stranger such as myself.....
He deserves a -Star for his actions and knowledge!!!!!!!!

Allow me to clarify for everyone:I sent an email through this business's website requesting a quote to have my 1911 blued and polished. I explained that I did not like the rough, matted portions of the factory 1911, and that my preference as a consumer was to have the entire pistol blued and polished like other portions of it. The business owner responded with a short, somewhat condescending response that he "trusts the wisdom of the designers." The business owner furthermore said that he would be rejecting my business on account of that.I'm completely fine with a company having the right to not want to do business with another party, so long as the reason is objective and meets a standard of logical reasoning. But when the reason is stupid, and the business owner seems stupid, I have a problem with it, especially when someone so stupid is fiddling with firearms as a vocation. Indeed, my biggest pet peeve in the world is stupid people, especially those who believe their so-called expertise elevates them beyond the level of their ignorance.Let's explore the logic of the business owner's reason for denying my request. The pistol in question is a new Springfield Garrison, which is a 1911-style pistol. The pistol's blued version has polished sides (which they refer to as "flats") and matte, rough-feeling tops and grips (which they refer to as "rounds"). The look and feel of these matted portions of the weapon are very much liked a parkerized firearm, which have always seemed cheap and unattractive from my perspective. My desire was to simply to have these portions of the gun blued and polished like the rest of the firearm, which is what the business owner refused to consider.Once again, the business owner's reasoning is that he trusts the "wisdom" of the designers. Even though for more than 100 years, the 1911 has come in fully-polished blued finishes, stainless steel finishes, nickel-plated finishes, and many other finishes that would violate the so-called "wisdom" of the Springfield Garrison's designers, which was only released in December 2021. The logic doesn't line up with me.If the business owner of Precision Gunsmith found himself unable to complete the project for a skill-based reason, I would have happily accepted the objection. As for the one which stands, I don't agree, but I accept it. The consequence for the business owner, however, is one less customer than he would have had, many more less potential customers who will hear of my experience, and this poor review that he is receiving on Google.I hope this clarifies the confusion anyone may have.

Had an issue with a 1911 where another gunsmith installed my rear sight incorrectly. Was late to my appointment, however, Larry stayed open after hours and took care of me. Fixed my sight using the correct equipment (sight press) and was in and out. I'm thankful to of found Larry and would recommend him to anyone.

Just had a very pleasant trip here this morning to adjust the front sight of my HK P2000, which was off-centered. The owner is a nice and friendly gentleman who finished my sight adjustment in 10min. Highly recommend this store for any fixation and adjustment.

Larry came to our rescue with some extremely stubborn FSBs. Larry made short work of what we needed done and gave us more than a reasonable price. He's knowledgeable and friendly. I know we will use him again if we ever need anything done.

Has it happened to you that, after disassembling a rifle, you couldn't put it back together? It happened to me. Out of desperation, I looked for a nearby gunsmith and found Larry based on his google reviews. Scheduled an appointment to meet him on Tuesday morning. Not only Larry put the whole rifle together quickly, he also filled me with his firearm knowledge while doing that. I almost forgot I had to work after. It was a pure pleasure to watch Larry work and listen to him at the same time. Felt lucky to find someone so knowledgeable, honest and friendly on google map. He is a hidden gem in southwest Houston area.

Larry also has a wealth of knowledge and I picked his brain for every question I could think of. I highly recommend and would go back if I ever have an issue.
