I’ve been going to Amy’s at Amy Hieu Hair Salon for all my balayage and haircuts almost 10 years now. Never had found a better hairstylist in Houston!
When I saw that Amy had relocated to the sugar land, I had to follow her despite living in Katy. If you’re in the Houston/Sugar Land area and need to get your haircut/colors, please ask for Amy at her new location at Angel’s Salon and Nail at William Trace!

Amy is an ACTUAL angel. I followed her from her old salon to this new one, but she's well worth a 45 minute drive because you will not find any hairstylist better than her. I spent the last 4 years trying to find another stylist closer to my side of town, but alas, she truly is the best and I won't make that mistake again. She is meticulous in her detailed work and is truly a master of her craft. You must be willing to spend at least 6 hours at the salon if you want a balayage, but trust me, it'll fly by and as we all know, beauty is pain, so power through, beautiful. Amy will also educate you on her process and makes the whole experience transparent with you, so you know that she genuinely cares about how healthy your hair is and will tell you how to maintain it. Everyone at the salon is so kind, as well! They truly work together as a cohesive team and you can't find that anywhere else. I'm so happy my (previously) limp and lifeless hair is shining bright again! Cam on Co!

I had reached out to Amy recently to get a big chop and my hair color changed. I had told my friend about it and she also wanted to get her hair done at the same time and Amy was so responsive and welcoming to the both of us. To preface, I had found Amy about 6 years ago when she was working at a different location and she had done such a great job the first time, I've been a loyal customer ever since. I do not like to bleach my hair because it is so damaging and this time around, I am pregnant so I definitely cannot do that, but she was able to take my dry, dead, overgrown hair and revamp it into this beautiful, lush burgundy color without the use of it! The photos do not do it justice, it is simply even more beautifully red in the natural sunlight. I love the way she does balayage! It just makes my natural hair blend in so nicely. And when it grows out, it will still look nice for many, many months to come. Definitely worth your time and money!! Thank you Amy for revitalizing my hair and making it feel and look healthy again. I will be back in 4 months for my trim!

I drove over an hour to come see Amy at this salon!! I have super thick hair and wanted to thin it out, many hair stylists can't layer/thin the right way, but Amy does an excellent job! She kept the length i wanted it at but made my hair feel so much lighter! Will always come back to her and definitely recommend her and the salon's service! (She only cut, this is my natural color!)

I have been going to Amy for about 7 years now and I don’t trust anyone else to do my natural bayalage. She recently moved to this new location in Sugar Land and is even more convenient to me. I have had many friends that go to other places for bayalage and when we compare prices, my friends on average pay $200-$300 more than what I pay - I don’t want to list what I paid since I believe it depends on your hair type, length and color (ie if you are bleaching your hair blonde and you have darker hair it will take more time and effort). In addition, no matter how fried or how many split ends I have, Amy includes a hot oil treatment to make it healthy again. Be prepared to spend 4+ hours as good coloring is an art form and shouldn’t be rushed. Thanks Amy for treating me like a princess and making me look like a million bucks! ? ?

Amy specializes in asian hair texture and natural balayage - meaning she doesn't use bleach to lighten your hair. It is less damaging to your scalp and hair in general and the color lasts longer! (To be clear, this bleachless balayage is able to get you a few shades lighter - not go blonde/platinum blonde or anything like that.)
Would highly recommend!

I went to get a hair cut, and I met a new lady name Jenny, I was not sure what kind of haircut I wanted, but I showed her some pics and her recommendations were superb. She asked me if I wanted to color, I said yes but not sure, what color. She started with shampoo, and omg I fell asleep almost, her hands were magical. Then she colored and i also got a cut. She was so professional and took her time perfecting my hair. Jenny is wonderful and very experienced. Just look at the pictures. Made me 10 years younger. Thank you so much Jenny. Definitely recommend her 10/10 in service and going above and beyond. Thank you again Jenny ??? Happy customer for life❤️

Trina is really amazing in helping you what style suits you and she is a very kind lady. She gave me discount. I dint knw they do baby hair cut too., I cant wait to get my baby hair cut done here by Trina. Unfortunately I cudnt get before and after pictures. I personally love this salon and the service. The atmosphere is very nice and clean and the staff is very kind and helpfull.
I would definitely recommend this place to yu”all.

Amy is the best at what she does. Her attention to detail is something you won't be able to find elsewhere. She takes her time to make sure each strand of hair is blended. I am always in love with my hair after Amy does it. I really recommend everyone to come get their hair done by Amy.

I have been looking for a hair stylist in Sugar Land who I can keep going back to. A quick search on Yelp led me to Amy and the amazing reviews convinced me to give her a shot. So glad I did! The entire appointment didn't feel rushed. She took her time from shampoo to styling. I think my entire appointment lasted about 1.5 hours, which didn't feel long because she was so fun to talk to. Amy will also give you honest feedback based on your hair type, as trending haircuts you see on social media are not suitable for all hair texture/thickness. I'm very happy with how she did my hair and how natural it looks!

Very unprofessional. I have been driving here the past two days (with an appointment) because the nail lady didn’t show up. Yesterday, I let it slide and said it’s fine things happen! They rescheduled me. Today, same thing. I don’t feel like my time is valued. They were trying to get me to come back for “another appointment” for the third time. The other lady that was trying to assist me was very nice but she was booked and couldn’t help. Please do not schedule appointments with clients if you cannot make it. A heads up would’ve also been much more appreciated than me driving all the way here again. I hope they don’t make the same mistake for their future clientele.
