“A good, slimmed down version of the grocery store area of any Walmart SuperCenter. Whereas in the SuperCenter you'd find, for example, 3 different chocolate cake mixes, at a Neighborhood Market, you'd instead find only 2 different chocolate cake mixes. That example applies across the board on things like yogurt, nuts, chips, and many other things. Is that bad? Not at all! Prices are the same as at the Walmart SuperCenters. The biggest difference? Fewer people to deal with and - usually - faster to get out of. This particular Neighborhood Walmart is quite well set up and organized. They do seem to be in perpetual restocking mode, but that's tolerable. I would recommend this Neighborhood Walmart to anybody.”

Compared to other markets, fruits and vegetables are cheaper. As far as I'm concerned, the only downside I could see there is the lack of wide choice and limited availability.”

“I was surprised on how clean and well organized this ALDIS location was. They have incredible prices and everything you need to skip from going to the larger grocery stores. Make sure to bring your own shopping bag or tote bag, as they don’t provide traditional shopping bags. Very competitive prices. Friendly and professionalism staff on site..”

“When I was shopping at this HEB, I felt very weak and the management was notified. They came to provide assistance in a few minutes. They were able to help me by providing an electric cart. My shopping was made easier because of the cart. The cashier helped with unloading the basket and I was help to my car. The kind. Woman loaded my groceries in my trunk. They had a taqueria, meat market section with loud speaker, bakery, and a great grocery store. I think what I liked about this store is that it felt nostalgic, had the best elements of La Michoacana and HEB and created a store that really reflected my culture and heritage. I liked how they had an expansive space and it seemed everywhere I turned people were there ordering from the cheese counter, the meat counter, and people were overall very happy to be there. I liked all of the food offerings, food services, and actually seeing happy employees. Happy employees. It was a good experience and I can't wait to come back here to experience more.”

“I went to CKC African Food Store on Bissonnet and Gessner to make an Okro Stew. I purchased red palm oil, dried flavored shrimp, fufu, and some extensions inside the store. The store owner was willing to show and suggest items to make my dish tasty. He was honest and truthful to what I needed for my African dish. It is small but, I really enjoyed my day. The also carry shea butter, Dashiki dresses and shirts, extensions, food, and other miscellaneous items. I would suggest you look to see what you can find. The Dashiki were over priced but the food and other items were reasonable prices compared to other specialty stores in the Southwest Area. I will go back again it was a great experience and everything was prefect addition to my ghanian dish. It was well worth the trip it is far from my place of residence, but if you want quality products it requires a little travel. Thank you for CKC African store for being hospitable for a first impression visit.”

Avoid the egg rolls as they are too greasy and salty but the beef ribs were seasoned so well (delicious!) and you have a choice between white rice and Mexican rice. They have spaghetti with sliced sausage in it too and macaroni pasta salad. Fried chicken and French fries.”
