Cypresswood Golf Club, located just north of Bush Intercontinental Airport on Cypresswood Drive in Houston, is a popular 36-hole golf complex set on over 600 acres of rolling, wooded terrain along Spring and Cypress creeks. It offers two distinct courses—the Tradition and Cypress Courses—each providing unique golfing experiences. The club is known for hosting prestigious events like PGA Tour School and Shell Houston Open Qualifiers, making it a favorite among both professionals and amateurs. The courses are well maintained and feature beautiful greens, with the Tradition Course often praised for its better shape and challenging layout. The Cypress Course, though a bit tighter, offers a different look and more challenge, especially as the grounds and facilities continue to improve with ongoing construction and a new clubhouse. Visitors and members appreciate the friendly staff, especially in the pro shop, and the course's commitment to pace of play, with marshals actively managing slow groups to keep rounds on time. Many reviews highlight the excellent conditions of the greens and the overall beauty of the course, making it a great place for practice, lessons, or just a fun round of golf. Cypresswood also offers a beginners golf program praised for its excellent coaching, helping new golfers gain confidence. Members enjoy the online scheduler for tee times and the ability to repair greens personally, reflecting a community that cares about the course. Despite recent restructuring that shifted much of the membership to a public format and changes in pricing, the course remains a top choice for golf enthusiasts. Overall, Cypresswood Golf Club combines scenic beauty, quality conditions, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a standout destination in Houston.
Played the Cypress and Tradition course. Both are fun to play. The pace of play is fair on the Cypress Course. The pace of play on the Tradition Course is a faster pace but nothing crazy. The hospitality out on the courses could be better.

Traditions course is in excellent condition. T boxes, fairways and greens all in great shape.
If you’re the kind of player that finds yourself off the course from a nasty shot, you’ll find a nasty lie. Stay on the course and you’ll find a fantastic playing surface!

Well taken care of course, really fun and easy holes, but the green conditions where subpar due to patches of turfgrass disease everywhere.
