My family lives in the area so they go, and now I go. I love how professional the environment is. I love how professional all the employees are … they know the vets office can be a scary place for your pet, but they truly have patience and work w your pet rather then rushing through the process as you have a scared pet.
Highly knowledgeable- I took my senior here and they debunked my 13 yr old seniors previous diagnosis and found the real and root of the problem, and now my old lady will live a bit longer and happier since we know the true nature of what’s going on w her.
I live in SA and will continue to make the trip to this vet as long as I know the current staff will stay long term. Highly recommended if you need good knowledgeable vet services.

Dr Madigan is the best! He explains in detail so you can understand the needs and what's best for your pet. Customer service is top notch! Worth the drive, and worth every penny!

Going downhill since getting acquired by a corporation. Delayed visit, "convenience" charges, and a refusal to refill our dog's medicated food until the appt was fulfilled, not even after asking when making the appointment

Dr. Madigan is the absolute best. There is nothing he can’t figure out. I don’t know what I’d do without him. The ladies at the front desk are accommodating and work soooo hard. We love you, Sugar, Louie and Quinn.

I always feel that my beloved pets are getting excellent care from the friendly, competent doctors and staff, in a warm, welcoming environment!
I have been entrusting my dogs’ care to them for around 8 years, and expect that to extend into many more years as I have a new puppy I am now bringing here as well. Living in San Antonio means about a 45-60 min drive, round trip (and passing several other closer clinics on my way!) but the level of care we receive makes it worthwhile every time.
Thank you, Drs. Madigan, Puype and Grant (in chronological order) for years of excellent care and love for my family members!!!

Cannot rate this place high enough. My animal has seizures and they are top notch at service when things go sideways. Always helpful, caring and friendly. The receptionists, techs and docs are amazing. Your animal is in good hands here.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️

Dr. Grant and staff listen with a caring heart ❤️. In a day and age of rushing, feeling like a number or cattle call, I appreciate the individualized care my pomeranian received. Customer service is TOP DRAWER! It's worth the drive and the love I have for my dog, my best friend, and my heart to make Smith & Valley Animal Clinic part of our health and life journey.

Dr Madigan and his team are so caring and kind. They did a fantastic job cleaning my Golden's teeth and having to extract a tooth. Dr Madigan called and kept me updated. We will be using them for all future visits.

Whats hard about writing this post is that I appreciate vets and techs that help keep our pets healthy. I also feel that with that care should come good business. What's the point of an appointment if your left waiting, time is money and I wish peoples time was valued more. I mean who else is sick of hearing oh sorry for the wait! I believe if my time was valued and you're late, give a discount off the bill, no one likes to hear some disingenuous,"oh sorry for the wait", That's my opinion anyway. The other thing is, getting charges for everything. I don't understand if getting an exam which requires no use of any chemicals or disposal of anything, why am I getting charged for OSHA compliance biohazard fee? Isn't that the businesses responsibility? Anyway as you can see I'm pretty upset with my service. This all has made me decide to establish pet care elsewhere. Sorry if this seems critical but I didn't have a good experience at this animal hospital.

This place is a joke. Their supposed to be a vet and know how to handle animals. They couldn't even clean my dogs ears and get different story's from each person you talk to. They even forgot to give me my dog back. Now I understand why they are not doctors

Awesome clinic! Our first time there and Dr. Grant took the time to listen and thoroughly exam my little dog. No pressure to have tests or treatments that weren't totally necessary. Clinic is very clean and friendly staff. This will be our new vet "home".
