Update. This gas station is open at the posted hours. However, the grill is NOT. Closes at 2-3 or just whenever they decided.

It's not a fancy place. I ordered the double cheeseburger with all the veggies on it and asked for no salt on the patty. I believe that the American sliced cheese has enough salt in it to satisfy the needs of balance. First of all, the price was very reasonable for the quantity--Texas sized. What I didn't expect is that the burger would have this level of quality. Because the ground beef is formed by hand, the texture is light and the grain fine. For a thick burger, I noticed it wasn't crumbly as well. It held together remarkably well. The spongy bun was fresh and pliable without resorting to density. It's a clean burger. Furthermore, for such a thick patty, it wasn't greasy! This texture coupled with thickness without the greasiness was such an unexpected surprise. It's a straightforward, meaty burger but light, soft, not greasy, not messy and delicious. As it is, I consider this an excellent burger...but if they only had a spread on it, like In-n-out or Mac sauce, to add that touch of sweetness instead of just the standard mustard and mayo, this could be exceptional. I highly recommend this place for their hamburger.

4 stars is tops....you just can't give 5 stars to a gas station grill, no matter how good it is. And it's a pretty darn good burger...generous patty, good fries and very fair prices. You can even eat inside if you want to. You might call ahead to place your order; they are very busy at lunch....lots of working guys. FYI....they close at 5:00pm.

I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 2 orders of onion rings. Burgers were great and the onion rings were so much better than what you expect from a fast food restaurant. They had a tempura type breading and not the cornmeal breading most places have. Everything was made to order and super fresh. I would have never guessed that you could find a gas station with food this good. I will be back!

Best hamburger in Southlake. Don't let the gas station fool you. Fresh cooked on the grill while you watch. Do it. You won't regret.

Best old fashioned hamburger in Texas. Cheap, cooked fresh, caramelized patty with good ole Mrs Bairds bun and all the trimmings. If you're an old fashioned burger connoisseur, you'll love this place. Only thing is the grill closes at 5. Call your order in or you'll be waiting a while.

I guess it's 5 star but the kitchen closes at 5 pm...so don't think this is a go-home dinner place I did not get any food..

In an area full of overpriced bougie hamburger joints at first I thought this place might be a mirage. But alas, it is real. It's a gas station. It's a hamburger grill. It's a slice of heaven. Fresh grilled hamburgers and fries cooked while you wait. Looks like a family business cooking essentially homemade burgers. The burgers are ginormous so bring an appetite or a friend. So fresh and absolutely delicious. This is by far the best burger in Southlake. Do yourself a flavor - ditch the latest fadburger and come on over to the Shell gas station for a fabburger.
