My husband and I really enjoyed staying at The Palms Resort. The room was clean and very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again! Also, the cafe was delicious!

Outstanding hotel. Beach access. Nice pool.We stay here whenever we visit south Texas. Same great hotel every time. And seafood at the restaurant is excellent.Even better now.See grackles WFH outside our room ?.Rooms: Our room had new floors and new stylish headboard this time. Great place to stay at SPI.Walkability: Walk to the pool and then walk to the beach.Food & drinks: Great Cafe. They do their own potato chips. Seafood tacos are great.

Was very disappointed in the place today…I took a bottle of water in there yesterday and not one word was said to me. Today the lady attacked me before I even sat down about my bottle of water was told I had to remove it immediately because of some law of not being allowed to bring in my own water…she was a horrible hostess…we got up and left

With edits for additional years.We enjoyed or stay here in August so much we are coming back for a month soon. Nice rooms, great access to beach, and high quality restaurant right on the beach with easy access.Edit: 10 days into our month stay and we couldn't be happier. Beach views while working from our room and beach walks on our breaks. Cooking healthy in our room and trying 5 great restaurants per week. Wonderful weekly cleaning service and great staff. Great winter monthly rates. What's not to love???Edit 2: 30 days and it's harder to leave than ever. Staff and space got better and better. Cannot beat living with the view and easy walk (80 steps) to the beach. We did so much with this space - work, cooking, & entertaining. Could use better internet solutions before we book for next year. Minimalist living at it's best❣️Edit 3: We found our internet solutions last time and we're headed down in December for our 5th month-long stay at The Palms. Our third stay with our Flat-Coated Retriever to work on frisbee, boat & surfing, and recalls with seagulls flying. Hoping for some grandkids to visit, too. So hyped Photo to come.

Showed up and they obviously had staffing issues. We waited at the bar with 7 other customers who were in line to order drinks while waiting for their tables. After 20 minutes, they announced they were no longer taking orders from customers at the bar because their seated customers were having to wait too long for their drinks. Fine, we said. Then, two customers stepped up to the bar and were served quickly even after they had just told us that we could not order at the bar. Holy crap. . I was pretty angry. The bartender saw my frustration and took our order of six drinks. But then he said, "First, I have to make some drinks for a table first". Wtf?. At this point, I said to forget it and asked to speak with the manager. I explained my frustration to the manager and he said there was nothing he could do because his seated customers were priority. He then said that if we didn't like it, we could go somewhere else. He offered nothing to make us feel better about the way we were treated, so we left. Such ridiculous and disrespectful treatment. Avoid this place! The manager needs some training on how to handle these situations.

This motel is awesome. It's on the beach and has a 5 star restaurant fronting the beach. Bring the kids and grandkids (or not) - you will 100% enjoy your stay here.

Permit parking 200 yard's from the beach beach access and Cafe next to the beach Cafe is expensive but extremely convenient with "OK" food the rooms are nice but basic with a fridge and a spacious shower and a queen bed with a couch that doubles as a bed, as well perfect access to really everything to do on South Padre.Nearby activities: Bars and places to eat no less that .8 miles from things to do and .1 miles from the beachSafety: Security guard walks around all the timeWalkability: Really everything that you need you could walk to what you need but it is just easier to drive parking is tight I don't recommend for larger vehicles or trailers

The room overall was decent. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was Awesome. The water did taste funky, but just used it to brush our teeth. I think that the water tasting is common on the island because it smelled bad even in the different restaurants. The kitchenette was good the bigger refrigerator was awesome. We would sit outside our room and visit with people coming and going to restaurant or the people staying at the Palms, and we met many awesome people and made some new life long friends and met some people from back home. The restaurant had great food. Overall stay was good till we killed 4 cockroaches on 2 separate days.

Our South Padre home away from home. The staff are super chill and the amazing restaurant and beach access make all our lazy beach-lounging dreams come true.We did have one little issue on Easter weekend that i felt could have been resolved more kindly. the Easter bunny delivered eggs to my 6yo daughter right outside our room on Easter Sunday around 5am, and by 6am they were stolen. We walked down to the beach to watch the sunrise and by the time we came back up to the room they were all gone. We had passed some teenagers at the beach access and I'd guess it was them. Teens will teen I guess, but when I casually mentioned it to the staff the man I spoke to got really defensive and almost accusatory like we had it coming for having the eggs out there.. I just never in my wildest dreams thought someone would take Easter eggs that they didn't put out... literally taking candy from a baby. Anyway, we learned our lesson. Don't leave anything outside your rooms cuz I think local sticky fingers prowl around in the early mornings to see what people have left out.

Restaurant added us to the wait list, had us wait 30mins to tell us we couldn’t sit because not everyone in the party was 25+. There were children being sat with their parents but after waiting 30mins we were refused. Explained they should’ve said something at check in and they stated “there are signs”. Which there were signs; however they were on the windows of the resort portion, implying that to book a stay you would have to be 25+ not the restaurant. Very rude about it, again kids were there & loud.

My new favorite place to stay on SPI. GREAT location, excellent restaurant and caring management and staff. The rooms were immaculate and I really liked the kitchenette. Will return in the Fall.
