Boat ramp is ok. One of the few that is still accessible. This park needs some TLC. Roads are rough. Bathrooms in bad shape. The entrance shack is rundown. This could be a really nice park with some work. Staff was friendly.

Had a great time at the lake! We drove right down to beach which was a unique experience. Nice spot for sunset, kayaking, paddle boarding which isnwhwt we had planned. There is a boat launch too and lots of campsites. Brought our dog to the lake for the first time. The most unique thing about the lake is the high stone wall or berm around this end so the beach is down below which makes it very scenic.Dog-friendliness: We brought a leash and we're able to let him play around by us.Picnic area: Bring your own tables, find a spot with a blanket by a tree or on the beach. Check with park for details on campsites and picnic tables.

Giving it 3 stars, because we have been coming here a long time and managed to work around the inconveniences (even though we shouldnt have to). Unfortunately this park is no longer government owned, meaning no funding will be there for improvement of park. This park has so much potential because of its location, particularly the island and the boat ramps, but the restrooms are really really bad. They are not functioning properly - and they are just so outdated (particularly the island ones by the tent sites and boat ramp) it is much easier to just go on the grass and dig a hole - no working sinks, no nothing. Secondly, there is no website to reserve spots or to pay online, everything is so outdated its sort of inconvenient but we call ahead to make sure there are some spots but really you probably are banking on first come first serve. The pros of the place is that the pricing is really affordable for camping, whether it is tent or rv, but if you really need a restroom and shower best bet would be to bring your RV, otherwise stay at the state park Birch Creek unit for better amenities. The spots here are hit or miss - Spots 70-74 seem to have the best views but you have to walk a bit to the water. On the weekends Friday-Saturday lots of folk come by and get rowdy, so around 7PM the warden comes to the park, same thing for on the water, wardens are out there so make sure life jackets and licenses/registrations are up to date because they do ask. Normally they are really nice and its just quick checks, other times they don't even bother - but I know for sure the cops do come at the park like clockwork around 7PM

I've been coming here since I was a little girl. It's where I learned how to fish with my Dad. Today I stopped in for a swim with the love of my life. Some many great memories.

First time being overall a nice campground nice beach area but the staff does not enforce the rules at all...beer bottles everywhere, dogs running around no leash, loud music way past 10pm and people leaving their trash everywhere not the staffs fault but the majority of the people from what I see don't give a damn about keeping the park clean.

This lake is apart of my childhood, now that I'm about to be 30 and looking back I've spend every summer here with my family. The fact I now have a husband and children of my own it definitely warms my heart that my kids get to experience there own memories here! Weather if we go for the day or the weekend we always have a great time. The staff are always friendly and do there best to accommodate you on the property! We camp in tents or campers, ride our jetski and boats, you can even rent water slides for the younger kids to get set up on the ground. This is something I will always do and continue to create new memories with my loved ones each new year!

Beautiful park with a nice variety of types of lakefront spits to set up for the day. Sadly, there was a lot of trash left behind on the shore and glass bottles in the water. Unfortunately, my young child did get cut by glass on her wrist, but a friendly neighbor down shore had medical supplies.Restrooms: Restrooms were pretty gross, smelly, and missing a toilet seat and soap.Dog-friendliness: We saw lots of families with their dogs.Picnic area: There are picnic tables and pavilions scattered throughout the park.

Be careful with what they charge you at the entrance, they ran us around when we had 4 different groups meeting to camp there and literally everyone was charged differently, and then once it turned night they came and demanded for us to pay even more money to stay overnight, they charged some of us $2 dollars a person and others $5 a person and even after one group in a vehicle had paid $23 for over night some guy came and demanded them pay another $25 to stay, we all paid but I found that to be extremely unprofessional and it seems like they just go around charging for whatever they feel like. And then they have the audacity to make it seem like we are arguing with them when we ask for an explanation of the prices. We've been coming here for the lake for years but after this experience I will not come back and will no longer recommend to friends.

I loved everything but the bathroom by lot 57 and 56 it wasn't dirty but it was the kind of toilet in the old days with the whole which smelt awful and because of the smell were so many bugs and mosquitoes all the other times I came never had this problem but also that was first time camping on that side
