I recently called Safelite for a small rock chip it was smaller than a dime. It had started to star so I called for an appointment. In the past I had used them for a similar repair and it was repaired without additional damage.
The repair I received this time it actually cracked worse and is bigger. I called about it for a solution and the lady actually laughed at told me sometimes it makes it worse and next step is to replace it. That was her only solution so I ask if they could call my husband to let him know the policy and he never received a call.
When we turned it into our insurance company this was covered without a deductible. If we now replace the windshield we have to come up with the deductible so now it’s a win …win for Safelite.
If I had to do it over again I would have fixed it with a kit from an auto store.
Not happy with the service and how it was handled by this Safelite.

They gave me an original quote for replacing my windshield on my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek at $350. Once I drive the 30 mins to get there - they tell me it’s actually $970 because it’s mandatory they do the recalibration on my lane sensor technology.
I decided to take my business elsewhere. I hit up Daylight Auto Glass repair in Porter, TX. What an amazing experience. He stayed true to his quote at $325 for windshield replacement & recalibration. He also came to my house. Super win!

Update to second visit : apparently part of the recalibration wasn't even done initially. ? Waited 30 min to get checked in and then it took 30 min to adjust. If your car has Eyesight system, go to the dealer for your glass work.
Original: I used safelite because my insurance has a deal with them. It was easy to do and was straightforward. The issue is getting warranty help. The car serviced has eyesight and its calibration is guaranteed for 12 months. It coded an error after 3 months and one cannot schedule automatically online for that (turns out this is a flaw in satellite set up of which they were unaware); one must email the company about it--they called me three days after getting email. Days later and still nothing back from the company though this is a safety issue, not to mention major inconvenience to return to the shop.
To trick the system to schedule an appt for this choose glass warranty and only then will your location call you to confirm appointment and then you can explain what you need. You will NEVER reach a human no matter what number you call otherwise. Entirely too frustrating.
I will never do business with safelite again.

The installer was a clean cut, very nice and polite young man. He got a good tip as well.

I took my Porsche 911 (997.2) to this safelite location with a bit of reluctancy for a windshield replacement. It’s a car I care quite a bit about so I asked the technicians to be careful. I am very impressed with the quality of work and no trash/left over materials left inside the car. This location’s staff cares and the waiting room is great to work in.

Very professional. On time. Welcoming. Technicians are well dressed, courteous and did a great job. They do 40-50 a day in The Woodlands location and we’re still on time and didn’t make you feel rushed.

Very bad service, they try to do as many cars as they can in a day. The lady and the guy in the front they don’t know anything and they don’t help at all they send you the technician and the technician pretends to know but they do it wrong, they make you come back and fix it and saying after you change the windshield the car never will be the same, they installed the wrong windshield the first time and the mirror doesn’t get andjust it makes a noise and it’s loose. They made me wait a week to suppously install the right windshield and when i got there they just moved the mirrow up and makes a noise…..this is the location in Shenandoah Tx

Trying to schedule with them is laughable. I’ve tried their forced online request for a quote and to schedule the appointment. Literally errors out. No browser will allow it to work either. So I tried to call them. Another joke. You cannot reach a human being. When you ask for help to schedule they send you a link to online scheduling which doesn’t work. It’s a sick feedback loop. I’ve given up trying to work with them. Who knows if the service would have been good their scheduling system sucks.
**** I love how you reply with “go to our website.” AGAIN.major fail when you can’t even respond with here’s a phone number to call where an actual human being will schedule an appointment for you. This is the state of business as usual. I’ll keep my business small and local from now on. This is not how it should be done. Botville taking control of your CX is a terrible idea.

Booked an appt with them 4 days ago. They gave a window between 8 am - 12 pm. Also said I would get an email & txt when my technician was on his way. Around 11 am I still haven't heard from anyone at Safelite. I called 5x throughout the day and nobody could get a hold of my technician or give me an update.
It wasn't until 4:30, the technician finally called me and let me know he was on his way, there was a hint of attitude. Pretty much B.S. as a paying customer.
I will probably never use Safelite again due to lack of communication and their lack of empathy.
