The Tyson Foods Inc. truck entrance is located on Lawson Street, off Kingsbury, with a sign pointing the way. Drivers must pull up to the left gate of the guard shack to check in. The process requires a safety vest and closed-toed shoes, with instructions to wash trailers beforehand, slide tandems, and use the on-site scale. While the people at the guard shack are friendly and check-in is easy, significant waiting times are common. Drivers report waiting for many hours after their appointment time for loading and paperwork, which can lead to running out of driving hours. The facility is right off the I-10 and easy to find, with a decent lot for maneuvering and some parking outside. Loading times for fresh chicken can take several hours. Some concerns have been raised about company policies, specifically that referral bonuses are only processed through a specific app and that this information is not clearly communicated.
I'm glad for American jobs. Hence 2 stars. The 3 missing stars are because the place is stinking up Seguin. It's this faint smell of death hanging around and I can smell it all the way to Austin St Just blocks from Home depot. If it's that bad from here, it's got to be some pretty un-American working conditions.
