Bought a vehicle still under warranty and had to fight to get them to address it! What's the point of warranty. Still isn't completely fixed. Worst service from management team on both the sales and service side. I am going to a different Toyota dealer for my concerns and services and future purchases which is way out of my way but would never use this location or recommend anyone else does. Consumers should be concerned using this location. They cause more harm than good and that's a shame because I love Toyota but made me second think buying another Toyota because of the experience. Unfortunately people who are associated with the Toyota name can easily tarnish it. Fortunately I found a great Toyota dealership to work with.

Went in to purchase a new Tacoma as a cash purchase. Sales person (Desmond) was very nice.Negotiated the out the door price, asked them to take $5,000 deposit to hold for 2 days so that I could pull the money from my bank and coordinate a ride to p/u the vehicle (I am not from San Marcos so I needed to wait until Saturday morning to p/u, when my spouse was available) The finance manager would not accept the deposit, he insisted the I fill out finance paperwork and insinuated that he didn't think I had the cash (even rolled his eyes at me)Long story short....I went elsewhere and did a cash purchase on a new truck. Still find it hard to believe that they passed on a deal but...their loss. I would not recommend SMT to anyone.

Started my search for a Toyota Camry online and came across San Marcus Toyota. After comparing prices to other dealerships they were the best. I was already approved with my credit union and once I informed my sales representative, Emily Rodriguez, she went out walked the lot and sent me pictures and videos of a vehicle. I feel in love with it and immediately started the paperwork. When I arrived Saturday to pick up the car, seeing it in person I started to doubt myself in making the purchase. I did test drive the car and everything. In the end, I did leave with a brand new '2024 Toyota Camry but not the one she picked out. I ended up switching to a different one because it had more features. Overall great experience and I would recommend Emily and the San Marcus Toyota family to anyone!

Purchased a vehicle today at Toyota of San Marcos. Our salesperson Jason Shanks had been texting and helping us locate a vehicle for several months, never pushy, informative and willing to keep looking for us. Good experience. The process was slow and could have been faster, but their dealership was busy. Financing went smooth, Danny was helpful and worked with us. A couple of items weren't explained totally clearly, so we continued to question those items-- we felt they were ironed out in the end. Overall, pleased with our deal and how everything turned out.A. We have owned Toyotas for 24 years. Different ones. A Rave purchased new. Then some years later we traded in our Rave for a Tacoma truck. Loved them both but were aging also and found it was hard for us to get up in the Tacoma,( we could have purchased the side steps but before we could,we purchased my Dads Corolla we purchased from the estate when he went to assisted living and couldn't drive any longer. Dad also Purchased Toyotas . We then traded the Tacoma Pickup Truck in for a Toyota Sienna van. ( oh my gosh i loved it ) . My little Red Sienna was roomy and so easy to drive. However Gas prices started Rising. We lived so far from the Grand Kids and Great Grand babies. I finally let my husband talk me into going Back to our Toyota Dealership in Boerne Texas. ( Hey just a note here about Toyota in Boerne, They are simply Great to deal with. The Service Department is on the ball also). It took a lot of talk and dealing , my husband had agreed to let me do the talking once we found what we wanted. He picked a Rave 4 Hybrid. As much as he wanted the Rave 4Hybrid I seriously wanted to keep my toyota Sienna. lolI felt bad for the salesman. I think They switched out and called in a manager at least once. I walked out 3 times. lolI'm only 5'2" and was already in ,well let's jus say I was knocking on the door of age 70. But I was determined that I would get what I wanted or not trade. My husband had agreed to stay out of it. At one point He said something and I shushed him reminding him of our agreement.I finally got what I wanted for our Sienna and what i expected in the contract for The Rave 4 hybrid. We had owned a Rave 4 and loved it but the Hybrid was new for us. The Hybrid uses gas or electric, except you don't charge it like an electric car, It charges as you drive and you can switch it over with a button inside the car. we both love this little car . Gas wise , it's super , we have moved and now we will deal with San Marcus Toyota. But we don't plan to turn this one in. We bought it used one year. So far we haven't had any problems. The car tells us when it's time for its checkup. Toyotas hold their value better than most vehicles on the road today. We sold my Dads Corolla before I could even put it on the marked. Someone heard we were selling it.

Sam C. was a pleasure to work with on our vehicle purchase. He was in contact with us for several days until we made our decision and answered all our questions.

They do not care about your safety. My daughter bought a Cross. It stalls frequently while stopped and will not start back up. It has recalls on both drivers and passenger airbags. No fix for the stall nor the drivers air bag. Frequently leaves my daughter stranded on very busy roads. I have tried to call and discuss with sales manager but he will not return calls. Sales guy Jason shanks could care less also and just refers you to the repair shop. Toyota and San Marco Toyota obviously do not care about your safety or they would not be selling these defective cars and they would be allowing you to trade it in at full sale value. A google search shows lots of people with the same issues.

As soon as we walked through the door we were talked to by Sam, and the first couple of talking points were that I wanted my current car appraised, and was looking for a replacement. He finishes assisting his current customer and on the way back takes a look at my vehicle. we then talk price range for new car and different vehicles available within what we discussed. After we've set the limits and options he immediately gets some to look at, and since the start maintaining professionalism and customer service. compared to many other locations we've attempted to go through, this was by for the most pleasant. Thank you Sam, I look forward to continuing business with this location.

I am givng San Marcos Toyota two stars for a couple reasons. First, they seem to have a nice, modern facility. Second, after an initial low-ball offer, they got right on my trade-in value pretty quickly and their price on a certified Toyota was reasonable. We basically had a deal we could live with. The three stars that they lost are due to the incompetence and outright rudeness of Sam Coffman, a supposed salesperson at the dealership. Sam is the type of guy who will speak authoritatively on any subject, even if he has zero knowledge of that subject. He is a small man (in many ways) with a very large ego. He can't be depended on to do what he says he will do. If calling customers names is a way to sell cars, it's not one I've happened upon prior to this. The first sign of trouble was his outright refusal to return my key after he valued my trade. That's not how I roll. I will not be held hostage by a used car salesman. Then, he wouldn't explain certain fees included in the price, telling me I could find out about those in the finance office. Further, he kept telling me that they would remove a charge on the deal sheet for an Apex tracking device, yet that charge was never removed. He informed me that I could take the car (two possibilities, actually) home for my wife to see and drive. I did take the first one. Not only was the Rav4 not something she enjoyed driving, it was filled with toxic (to her) fumes. Obviously an air freshener of some sort that reddened her eyes and messed up her head for the rest of that day and most of the next. On an unrelated note, that car was given to me to drive with only 25 psi in one of the tires. I had to air it up when I got home. I explained the situation to Sam, and he went into great detail about detail. The process of detailing a car when it came onto the lot. Every car is done differently, he tells me. BS, I think to myself, unless somebody unleashed a torrent of bodily waste in one, it's a pretty standard operation. I asked him to check the other vehicle, a Highlander, for any air fresheners and remove them, then to air the car out with the windows down to eliminate the smell. He said he did so all day Tuesday, although I wasn't able to make it back until Wednesday. I checked in with him Wednesday morning to verify the situation and was assured the car would be ready to pick up and bring to my wife at 2:00. I arrived a few minutes early, pleased to find the car running, AC on, windows down. Within five minutes, while Coffman was getting a tag for the car, I found and removed four air fresheners from the vehicle. A simple thing that took me minutes wasn't something he could be bothered with. Much like trying to get him to return a text. When he came out with the tag, I showed him the air fresheners, tossed them aside, told him he had failed and that I wasn't bringing the car home. He called me a 'miserable human being' and a couple of other things that I won't repeat. I walked to my truck, flipping him off all the way, and left. He's not in the hospital, and I'm not in jail, so I guess it was something of a success.

I visited the service department today. I can never say anything bad about Toyota's choice on mechanics. They have always been great at every facility I've visited. Today, I was assisted by the Service Rep, Matt. He helped me a great deal, keeping my costs down. He didn't try to sell me more services, as other Toyotas have. My suggestion. If you go in to have your car serviced, request Matt as your representative.

Toyota lost my $14,000 and left me stranded for over two weeks. It became clear overtime that--after the paperwork was signed--the customer was not important.Of the miscommunications, unfulfilled promises, and lack of attention to detail, the most unacceptable was a gross negligence and mishandling of finances. There are serious problems in the finance dept., either systems or staff, and with the communications between departments. After I signed paperwork, put 35% down, purchased an insurance policy, and took out a loan...it took Toyota 15 DAYS to get me into my truck. This started when the sales dept. had a silly idea and told my bank it was OK to send a check via standard mail(as opposed to overnighting the check, you know, in case the customer needed the truck for work or any other obligation). Afterwards, they told me they wouldn't release the vehicle until the full amount arrived, which was now relying on the snail mail, which they had requested. If sales had paid attention to their own dealership's release policies, or cared about the customer, they would've asked what the customer preferred. OBVIOUSLY OVERNIGHT.Simple mistake, I get it. It gets worse. After 15 days of repeatedly asking if the check had arrived, and repeatedly being told no, I was finally able to void the check and have another one overnighted(there is a 15 day waiting policy for cashiers checks).I checked in one last time with sales and asked if the check had possibly been misplaced within their dealership--and was told "our finance department has checked ALL possibilities, go ahead and void the check." So I reached out to my bank to learn that the check had been CASHED BY TOYOTA SEVEN DAYS PRIOR. Which means they cashed a $14,000 check without a clue where the money came from, what it was for, or without logging it in their system. I had to learn from my bank that Toyota had taken my money and ran. Not to mention Toyota assured me that they had "checked all possibilities." Absolute negligence and cost me thousands of dollars in lost work. Lastly, they offered to deliver the car to my house, 5 miles away. It took four hours and the car arrived with a dirty exterior and old bottles of lotion, hand, sanitizer, cords, and eyedrops spread out on the back seat.Like I said, they got their money and didn't care. It's not yours or my job to pay for the education of this dealerships staff. So if you wish to save time and money, go somewhere else. Otherwise, they'll be learning how to do their jobs on your dime.

We purchased a used Jeep there several years ago and got the dealerships extended warranty (a huge mistake). The finance guy snuck the warranty in there (which we should of cancelled when we realized it was in there). They are every part of a sleazy car dealership. The warranty included oil changes and service. Whenever we got an oil change we would be there for up to 3 hours, and staff was never friendly. The vehicle was in an accident and we attempt to cancel the warranty and the amount of hoops they made us jump through made it not worth it. There are much better dealerships out there, don't spend your money here.
