I moved here August 2023 and I’ve loved my experience so far!Pros:-Friendly Staff-First pick up/drop off on school shuttle-Nice amenities (I’ve been told by my guests we have one of the nicer pools in the area)-Free printing-I feel safe-No mold, cockroaches, or any of those issues til now-Quick maintenance response!Cons:-The dog park is more rocks than grass, only recently have I seen green grass at all-There is no mail room and deliveries can be weird. Usually the office asks your packages be delivered to them, but they aren’t open 24/7 or even on weekends, so you have to cross your fingers that your package gets delivered to your door. Even when the package does get delivered to the office you have to wait for them to send you a text for pickup and it can delay your actual arrival time/date.-They are currently remodeling which I’m sure will be a pro later, but we paid for a premium unit and they’re remodeling standard units first from my understanding. It doesn’t seem fair as we paid for the “nicer” option and a lot of our utilities and the provided couch are pretty dated and falling apart.Overall I would recommend this place if you’re nervous or looking for somewhere new. Perhaps just ask about the new unit options and invest in a ring doorbell (me and my roomies are too broke for one lol). I like it here til now!

The Outpost has been very peaceful and pleasant living experience! Maintenance and the office have been very responsive to any issues that have occurred. Great spot here!

I lived here for 2 years. The community was great, the office helped during crisis situations ( a fire had started on the third floor above us) and overall the office and maintenance was great. After living in multiple student housing, I can firmly say that this was the best experience.

the outpost is definitely the best apartment complex to live at in san marcos. the staff is awesome and they throw really fun events. i 100% would have resigned if i was staying in san marcos longer.

These apartments are extremely old, The range hood doesn't work, the door of my closet keeps on falling even though maintenance has tried to fix it twice. Really pricey for the conditions of the apartment. Also my car got stolen in the parking lot.

We toured this location yesterday! We were so impressed that after looking at several other apartments in the area my daughter went back and signed immediately. Her friend even signed up to be her roommate sight unseen just because of the positive feeling we had being at the Outpost! It had such a warm friendly feel to it. I feel confident that she will have a positive experience when she moves in on the fall.

The staff is more than excellent. You will probably never find a better front office staff. They are ready to help and welcome you like your family. The maintenance man David is just like a second dad. Anything you need he will be ready! Thanks Outpost for being you.

If you're looking for a place and you're not a college kid that stays at the appt all day, do not live here. I work a regular job 7-3:30 and can never receive my packages because the office is always closed, no parking, loud neighbors, and charcoal being left out in the grass for dogs to consume and get sick. Do not live here if you're an adult with a career or an animal lover. It is a college dorm here.

I love this apartment complex. Not too modern but not rundown like some in San Marcos. It's the perfect location for me. I like how close it is to the highway but far enough away to where you don't hear the cars driving all night.

The outpost has been a real pleasure to live at. The whole complex has a cozy feel and all of the staff have been amazing. Maintenance is extremely fast and efficient. The apartments aren't the nicest you'll find, but they work fine and you get good value for what you pay.

I love the Outpost! The staff is genuinely nice, friendly, and helpful and Ruben and Acasia are literally the best!!! Maintenance is so quick to respond to service requests and they will help you with anything like mounting your TV.. I especially love the free Keurig I use it all the time plus the amenities are great the pool is always clean and the hot tub actually works and the clubhouse is literally a vibe!!

It’s been a lot of fun living here and the staff do so much to make you feel like you’re at home! They’re all so kind and create such a welcoming environment as well.I personally love that there’s bus routes that connect to the school and that the clubhouse is an amazing place to study when you need a change of pace. So I think if you’re looking for a home away from home you should check out this spot :).

I love the outpost, I have lived here for 1 1/2 years now and the staff and maintenance is always super helpful. The walls are thin like any apartment so you can hear pretty much everything going on. The parking can get scarce when everyone is home. The furniture is cheap, and the kitchen cabinets are cheap. Besides the cheap quality and the price being a bit high I have loved living here so far and haven't run into any major issues.

The staff are great and the maintenance has been on time for me and my roommates. Great location and the price is a plus. Downside is the floors are super thin and creaky so you can basically hear the people above you whenever they move. The gym could use a few upgrades or modernizations but it works. Recreation room is great and the pool is a nice spot to hang out. The only thing I’ve seen that sets it apart is again the price and the interaction with the community. Overall it’s an alright place if you want a close knit apartment just be sure to find good roommates they make the difference between bad and great.

Google doesn’t allow 4.5 ratings, but that’s what I currently would give the Outpost. They truly care about you and will work with you if you have any issues! I love the maintenance workers and the representatives in the front. The amenities are awesome and I actually use them (at my previous apartment, I was too uncomfortable to do so). They have many opportunities for you to make friends with your neighbors and have fun. I really enjoy my apartment, as well. Plenty of space for me and my cat, and a remotely quiet living area! My only complaint would be some of the appliances (like the dryer or microwave) don’t work as well as they would, say, your parents house, but they do the job. Still, the warmth I feel from living at the Outpost make it more than just “the apartments that I live at”. I have a new standard for myself when thinking about where I’m living, now as a student and after I graduate, and that’s thanks to the treatment from the Outpost.
