Excellent place. We arrived here by chance, as it was a twist on our route to visit San Marcos and we entered this Gallery with very interesting work by local artists, in addition to excellent attention from the artists responsible for the center, they approached me immediately and I felt welcomed, in addition to knowing the work they do. I loved it, I hope to return one day.

The Art Center on the square in San Marcos is a wonderful little art gallery. It's a collection of the works of local artists. It is the San Marcos Art League artists, and we take turns as docent and sales person monthly. Each time you go, you will meet a local artist. Come visit!

Easy to find, parking isn't impossible, volunteers on hand to answer any questions. Covid had them closed a long while, but they're open limited hours two days a week now complete with masked volunteers and hand sanitizer. From sculpture priced at thousands to earrings under $15, there's a variety of prices and styles packed in this small storefront. Decorative to functional. Someone is doing day of the dead paintings of animals, and I'm quite fond of the pittie, horse and chihuahua. Given Art Squared was shut down half the year and local restaurants were a popular display for many, this is an important chance for artists to be seen and possibly earn some income. Nice peek at local artistry if you can't make the Art Squared fair (second Saturdays ea month except Jan/feb).
