Highway robbery. They wanted to charge me double to fix my transmission, then other places. My truck broke down, I didn't know what exactly what was wrong with it. I had it towed to Sergeant Clutch because they're down the road from my house and they know transmissions and they do, they're very knowledgeable but they use this to their advantage when describing the labor and how to fix your vehicle, then they up charge you crazy high. In my opinion if your vehicle breaks down shop around for a second opinion and never go to these people because they will give you a crazy high bill, they wanted to charge me $5500 for a torque converter. it's only a four hundred dollar part at AutoZone with a $90 dollar core charge. If you're in a pinch, and have no choice, you need your vehicle for work or whatever, still never go to these people. They're's honest mechanics they will charge you properly.

These folks charged me for repairs that were not necessary because the codes the car threw were for RECALLS. They replaced a clutch that did not need to be replaced, AND damaged that clutch because the technician did not remove the locking tabs but just shoved the clutch into place. That same technician advised the Ford technician that he "didn't even know what locking tabs are."AVOID at all costs! They are just after your money, especially if you are a single female as I am.

Yeah no bring it in to see how much it is , no I can't and don't need to waist my time of four hours to get a price on a basic break job . You need a quote on the phone estimate then go from there

Guy tried charging me $230 for 1 spark plug. After I had already told them that I just got them replaced over the weekend. The guy didn't intake any of the information I was giving him stating everything on the coils and wires was new. Very unprofessional

First off, I was told the towing was free if I agreed to have my car worked on after the $50 diagnostic. 2 lies right there! After I was given the estimate which was not $50 but over $450 they said it was the clutch. To replace the clutch, they wanted to charge me $2500. Unfortunately for them I know some things about cars and a clutch replacement does not cost $2500! I refused to pay that price n wanted my car towed to our family mechanic so they made me wait 2 more days to put the transmission back together. By the way, the family mechanic is only charging me $1500 parts n labor. This is how Sergeant Clutch makes their money. They get their auto parts at wholesale prices then charge the customer triple for those parts then they tack on $100.00 an hour for labor. I am reporting them tomorrow for the bolt they purposely left out of my transmission tomorrow by the way! Steer clear of these crooks!

This is probably the worst auto shop I have ever taken my car to. They quoted me an outrageous sum to replace my transmission and do a tune up, then when I went to pick my car up they told me it wasn't drivable because the radiator was suddenly leaking all over the place. To be clear there was NOTHING WRONG WITH MY RADIATOR before I took it in. They refused to admit any responsibility and offered to replace it for $800. They were consistently rude and short with me. I will never take my car there again and strongly advise anyone considering this shop to go somewhere else. I had my car towed to a different shop who can fix the problem for under $400. DONT GO TO SERGEANT CLUTCH UNLESS YOU WANT TO OVERPAY AND BE TREATED LIKE CRAP.

Called to get a quote for a muffler replacement on my Volvo, and they told me they don't do it. I tried to explain to them that I know what kind of muffler it takes and that it's a simple swap, the guy just said “no we're gonna pass on that†and hung up. Rude for no reason, and they lost business. Go somewhere else where they treat you with respect.

I give this place one star because I had taken my 2005 Ford Mustang for a clutch replacement and when they took off my clutch the guy who was working on my car pulls out a wire brush to refurbish my flywheel and that was only the beginning. I called my personal mechanic (who sadly could not work on my car at the moment because it had recently rained a lot and I needed my car for school that Monday) once on the phone with my mechanic I was telling him about the guy who pulled out the wire brush and he told me I need to take my fly wheel to a shop so if could be properly refurbished. After the phone call one of the workers had heard me "complaining" he stated and asked if I would like for him to send my flywheel to a shop. Three days later I had gotten my car back only to realize my A/C was not working taking it back the guy had told me that he would have to charge me ninety dollars just to do one test not even Tell Me what's wrong with my car. Already fed up with the place I told him to have a good day and drove away. As time went on I eventually had a free day and had called my personal mechanic explaining to him what I had done with my car and now my A/C is not working. Without hesitation he told me that I could bring the car into his shop and he would let me know what could be wrong with it. I pulled up to his shop and immediately he was ready to find out what was wrong with my car. Analyzing my car checking my freon along with the wires he told me that it would be a possibility that a wire was pinched when sergeant clutch had put back my transmission. Taking into consideration that I had paid four hundred dollars to get my clutch replaced I drove straight to sergeant clutch and as soon as I told them that it might be a pinched wire they looked at me as if I'm stupid already frustrated I demanded they look at my car. The worker who finally got around to looking at my car two hours later was giving me a dirty look and tried to tell me again that it couldn't be a pinched wire and then I told him you wouldn't be able to see it from looking at my engine bay and that he would have to put my car onto a lift. Once on the lift he almost immediately saw that it was in fact a pinched wire. Being the sloppy workers they are the man had told me it wasn't him who replaced my clutch, speaking to the manager he told me I would once again have to leave my car there to be fixed. With that being said I would NEVER in my life recommend anyone to take their vehicle to sergeant clutch because they are disrespectful sloppy workers and don't have the balls to own up to their mistake. If you are looking for a trusted mechanic I would recommend David Bolado (+1 (210) 779-0089) who does excellent work he's honest helpful and hands down the only mechanic I will be taking my car to from now on.

The staff is very friendly and professional. From free air to new tires they do a great job. Stop by the shop next time you have a flat tire or need you tires. The crew at Walzem Tire Shop is great.
