I have loved living here the past couple years. I’ve had some hard times and the front office workers have always been helpful and understanding. Truly Its been an amazing experience, definitely renewing my lease. Tips to Jazmine for being so kind and helpful in these rough times.

I been living here for over a year and it’s been swell. I truly have to say this has been a wonderful experience and would suggest living here to anyone. Susan, one of the office workers, has been extremely helpful with me in the past. She’s been kind and patient when I needed it in hard times.

I'm a resident here and at first everything seems perfect but give it 2 months time exactly, you will be charged a water/sewer bill when it's supposed to be charged after 3 months of living here. Just recently on Friday August 26th 2022 my wife notified me of a letter which states all patio curtains need to be taken down! But mind you it doesn't state anywhere on the lease about it being a problem. But it does state ,"community policies become part of the lease and must be followed" which means they make up a rule as they go and it must be followed!!! You're also supposed to receive complimentary valet trash service which you pay for every month apparently. But yet each person quits often so you as a resident must bring your trash down yourself. So your paying for a service that you really aren't using at all. Also if garbage is left outside your unit you be charged a $25.00 fee for each day it's left outside that was another letter that me and my wife both received as well. Maintenance staff is always on point though I've had small issues that that needed to be fixed and the turn around time is usually same day or a day after for repairs. Last but not lease the pool is nice but other people from neighboring complexes come by on the weekends and trash the whole area leaving maintenance staff to clean everything unfortunately. I would love to give this place more that three stars but all these new notices about garbage charges and not having shading for my own protection as well as the fact that I work overnights so the daytime sunlight disrupts my sleep, as I work in law enforcement as well so this will soon resort to me and my family moving...
02/25/24 approximately 8:52am this is what happens when Avenue 5 cuts maintenance crew hours! Normally maintenance would stop by on Saturdays to help keep the garbage area clear of trash but budget cuts apparently so things are getting worst day by day, on top of pest control only spraying treatment behind the stove and refrigerator and not showing up to my apartment not once but two times Masey exterminators is an Interesting company to say the least as they won't even talk to me simply because I'm a tenant here! They only consult with the property manager lol and what ever you do please don't wake up the homeless guy who sleeps in our mail room area he gets very cranky lol

These apartments are full of cockroaches, the
Office staff including. Managers are rude and have a bad attitude, I have videos and photos of the cockroach nest and every time they go to fumigate they charge to go, they charge for the garbage service and they almost never pick it up, it is unpleasant to live in this place. They don't even deserve a star apart from the fact that they are very expensive, there are other places that are very clean and in better areas.

I lived at Volar from May 2018 to early June 2023. I was pleased for the first 3 years I lived there. The last 2 years was a different story. There are multiple reasons why I gave them a one star. Firstly, over the past two years there was a roach problem in building 6 where I lived. I had to purchase roach traps which seemed to help some but I would still see them. Secondly, my car was broken into and stolen from the parking lot in September 2022. Fortunately my car was recovered and I had to take it to an auto body shop to get it repaired and rent a car to drive around while it was being fixed. The final issue that I wanted to tell about was having a short notice deployment to prepare for. I was not able to provide 60 days notice and found out about 35 days before I left for my deployment. I moved out of the apartment on June 2nd and left San Antonio on June 3rd. My supervisor turned the apartment keys into the office on June 3rd. The person on duty that took the keys failed to note that the keys were turned in on June 3rd. I received an email in September saying I owed over $500 dollars even though I had paid rent for the entire month of June. Avenue 5 Residential claimed that I moved out on July 7th, even though my keys were turned in on June 3rd. Even after providing proof to Avenue 5 Residential that my keys were turned in on June 3rd the company said I still had to pay the remaining balance of $530. I'm in the process of applying for another apartment and the balance was preventing me from being approved so I had to pay the remaining balance. I feel this move out situation was not handled appropriately. I am an Air Force member and can't help that I was tasked for a short notice deployment and couldn't provide 60 days notice before moving out according to what Avenue 5 Residential told me I was supposed to do.

Also y’all need to do something about residents making. Too much noise upstairs I live on the 2nd floor and the neighbors constantly fight and stomp their feet it doesn’t let me sleep at night

I have been a resident here almost a year I love love ? the atmosphere here .maintenance is awesome they keep up the property and that’s one thing I was looking for .and the women in the front office are punctual and attentive keep up the great work

moved in not that long ago and If I would of read the reviews before hand, I wouldve not moved in. First they gave us a unit that someone was already LIVING in! like how can people be that dumb? 2nd we have a roach problem and it's been extremely hard to get rid of and that's why my biggest problem with the unit especially having kids, one being a baby getting ready to crawl. I don't want to have to deal with that so my baby can learn, that's ridiculous. office ppl here are a joke. I wouldn't even renew my lease. I wish I could break it but just can't afford to have that on my name.
