When you look at the ratings for this gym, please please keep in mind that Al, the new owner, took over in late February 2020. The bad reviews belong to previous ownership and management. This is a CRITICAL fact. I've belonged to a number of gyms and actually joined ATF at Bitters and Huebner because my son preferred a smaller gym. I've always sought out the larger ones. I was not a fan of working out alone and preferred group exercise and was always so disappointed if I happened to run late with my patients and missed a class. But, at ATF, I can show up at any time and still get my workout in. During COVID, I gained weight. Because I have 24/7 access, I have been able to lose over 20 lbs and feel great!!! I give this credit mostly to the fact that I felt comfortable with how Al was running the place, then to my ability to engage an awesome trainer, Donna. She was good for me. There are other trainers that will meet your style and time requests as well. I love going to this gym in particular because I trust that it is clean, for one. I had an in depth discussion with Al, before adding my membership to my son's, about the regimen and think that it is above and beyond what others are doing. Secondly, I love the easy non competitive nature of this gym. I don't know everyone, but I recognize the faces. We can't see each other's smiles, but there is a friendly wave. Al is super friendly, welcoming, and available for concerns. Everyone offers "space", but is approachable if that's your style (with a mask and safe distancing). I'm not one for writing reviews. I think I've posted 5.. lol. I just know how important fitness is to me and how skeptical I have been. I offer to you that I am very paranoid about going out, but I get my work out in everyday at Al's gym. BTW, Al is an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper veteran. Let's support our vets.

Ugh, do not EVER join Anytime Fitness Hausman Village -- Trying to cancel your membership is a complete NIGHTMARE!!!! I had to go to the gym in person to cancel on June 5th (can't do it over the phone) and now a month and a half later they are STILL trying to bill me. I turned off their auto-debit payment system ABC Financial from Bank of America, since they weren't stopping....now I get a threatening call from ABC that I'm past due. On the phone with them now, they can't even tell me how much I owe them....They tell me I need to pay Anytime Fitness, Anytime Fitness tells me I need to pay ABC Financial. Such complete incompetence! $95.78 in new charges since I tried to cancel on June 5th. Unbelievable!!!

This gym continues to come up short in almost all areas one would expect from a gym. Equipment remains broken for months, weight lifting bars are bent to the point of unusable but remain stacked in the corner like they're fine. When new equipment is purchased, it's intended for home use and is wrecked within weeks. Now the "management" that is never here and won't return a phone call even to re-up memberships has proposed things like live music, chair massages and vendor pop ups. Tag line will probably be "come be annoyed while waiting for us to never fix anything".

I went to the Shavano Park location to talk to one of the trainers about 1on1 for my son to prep him for his future. The General Manager I didn’t catch his name was super gracious. Made me feel like family from the second I walked in. The trainer was very descriptive on the plan for my son. Not a typical trainer at the big box gyms. Had a plan for his growth physically but also mentally. Can’t wait to see the the results. If you are looking for a place this is it. No question!!!!

An okay gym but not right for me. I'm a powerlifter. Planned to do deadlifts today but the only plates have metal handles on the side. That means the bar is constantly landing on that flat spot. It's just weird. I scrapped deads and just did accessory work. There are also only three kettlebells in the gym - 25, 30 and 45 pounds. I wanted to do bottoms ups for my shoulders but that wasn't possible with these weights. I tried the weird shaped 15 pound plastic "kettlebell like" thing. Again...just weird. This said, the place was clean. There's plenty of parking. If you're interested in using machines, a heavy bag, and dumbbells, this is a perfect place for you.

I signed up at this gym when I was in town visiting my gf. I needed assistance with my membership and left a voicemail requesting a call back multiple times. They never returned my call or answered when I called. I've called other anytime fitnesses and they have all answered or returned my call unfortunately they weren't able to help because they are franchised. I would recommend signing up at another anytime fitness so you won't be left with no response in a time of need.

Man this place is bad! The main issue is there in never an employee on duty and I mean never. The phone just rings and rings. Also, the cable tv never works, but since no one ever is there you can understand why they can't get it fixed. I can't imagine how many memberships they have missed out on, but based on how they run the business they must not care. Hard to believe someone would run a business this poorly.
